I just got this Black Cat, Witch and the Apple Tree JSK with the matching socks and headbow It's beautiful, unfortunately my terrible phone camera can't catch all the details. In the print, the moon phase changes around the skirt which is such a lovely detail.

The book is The Art Of Spirited Away, which is awesome. Both arrived the other day. I also got a bitching shirt and a hoody for my girlfriend.

I'm waiting on a handful of things still.

How do I get cigarette smoke out of a lolita dress?

Sales post did not mention if they came from a smoke-free home or not, and their eglfb has all positives with no mention of the odor. Am I smelling something else then?? It's faint but definitely unpleasing.

Air it out, that should help.
Then Febreeze the fuck out of it. I think there might even be a special kind of spray you can buy especially for getting the smoke smell out of clothes. Check the dress isn't discoloured, as things can easily yellow in a smoking household.

Airing things out tends to help, as does using those odor-absorbers you put in shoes. I usually do that for small accessories when they've got a bit of a smell to them. Put them in a box, add a couple of the odor absorber balls and let them sit for a day or two.

I've soaked it in white vinegar & cold water, then soaked it with Woolite, let it air dry outside in the cold, but the smell is still lingering. I'll try the freezer method and using odor absorbers. I'm REALLY not a huge fan of Febreeze but I'll try it as a last resort :(

I totally understand not liking Febreeze; that crap makes me sneeze like crazy. I got a dress off the sales comm once that was listed as "excellent condition". The second I opened up the box I could just smell this horrible BO smell and when I took the dress out it was clearly stained and yellow under the arms. I had to wash that bastard 3 times, soak the under arms in baking soda, and as a last resort spray it with Febreeze 2-3 times before I deemed it clean enough to touch my body. The baking soda helped a ton with the under arm odor and staining, but the Febreeze went that little extra mile and pretty much eradicated it.

I just went on the most ridiculous buying spree of my life since I'm shipping out to boot camp in two weeks and I won't be able to wear any of this shit.

I just bought Bodyline's L120, off the sales thread in this board actually. I bought the orange colorway that the model is wearing. I also bought a near-complete God Tier Jade cosplay, with skirt, shirt, wig, hood, and ears. I can get the shoes and the socks easily enough, I figure. But yeah. I'm not even going to be able to wear any of this stuff before I ship out. I make logical decisions.

Depends on the seller. I've bought from two anons on the MH general thread on toy. A DotD Lagoona and a Skelita. The Lagoona was perfect but the Skelita had a smudge eye. If you're buying from a private seller, request photos for proof. If you're ordering from a dealer and the doll ends up with a messed up face. You can actually contact Mattel directly and they usually will either send out a replacement doll, or a voucher for the general store value of the doll. Mattel is really on the ball about their customer service when it comes to Monster High. They even replaced a package that somebody stole from my doorstep.

So. Much. Shit. I really overdid it this month, was super stressed and what not.

I went so out of control this month. Everything was on sale for a lot, though, if that somehow makes it better? And the bras and underwear I actually need.

I'm panicking because I lost almost all my favorite jewelry in a succession of a concert and two parties, the parties almost a week apart from each other. It was almost magical how all my necklaces and rings disappeared, and I'm one of those people who feels naked without jewelry.

Also, I'm going to college next year, and my parents are aging to the point where very soon our cashflow will be minimal. So, it's a semi-conscious panic reaction to the feeling that I will barely be able to get anything new for the next four years and almost certainly at least the next two after that.

I've completely felt like shit. I feel so lost, in almost every aspect of my life. Thankfully, I haven't lost my will to go outside but I've basically lost my will to do everything else. I even only want to hang out with my friends for short periods of time.

I keep going through this cycle where I somehow manage to convince myself not only do I need whatever, I somehow deserve it because I'm so stressed out and having something nice will calm me down.

I just added up my expenses, and it's definitely no where near as bad as it could have been, but I'm still going to try to keep a record on my phone from now on and hopefully this will end my binge. I definitely won't be able to get away with this in college.

Thanks for the suggestion! It fits much better now that I've stuffed it and made some new holes on the straps to make the tighter.

Also got a pair of AP wine socks to match my bookmark dress. They're 24 cm long (from top to heel) so it's great for taller girls who find otk socks too short, or shorter girls wanting thigh highs!

And neither of them have marked that they're shipped yet, despite me having ordered on Monday. I'm more than a little pissed off about it, to be frank, especially with Fantasysheep, since I paid for expedited - I need this stuff for Katsucon.

Does anyone know how fast Fantasysheep usually ships? Are they one of the shops (on ebay,) that forgets to mark their stuff as shipped when they do, or should I be worried?

Judging by how light it is, I think you did good to get it from ebay. I bought from her before (Silent Moon & Puppet Circus) and I'm satisfied by the quality.

Post van came with my parcel (signature delivery) and the postie looked at the house and just put a card to call in the mailbox despite the fact that my flatmate was home and in a room at the front of the house, no knocking or anything. Unfortunately by the time he realised that it was supposed to be a parcel and wasn't just a letter they were well down the road. But I'm really excited for her. She has moved away to half way across the country and will be in town for a few weeks so we are having the shower early to surprise her, and since it was kind of short notice on me the quilt is just simple squares with bunches of decorative stitching on top, but I will have to do it all by machine because I just don't have the time to do it by hand...have to finish it by the 10th and the batting is not even hear yet ugh....at least I have the quilt top half done.

Okay, so I went to talk to my school mailroom yesterday, and they said they didn't have my package. Call your servicing post office - this just happened to me. My tracking was marked as "delivered", but when the worker who answered the phone checked on their system, he saw additional stuff. He told me sometimes it happens that they accidentally scan something as delivered.
(...the accidental scanning wasn't the issue in my case, but it's a long story.)

You can look up their office-specific number (rather than the generic 800 number) on the USPS site.

Not really looking for a dramatic effect. But with my eyes, I never know how the light will refract or blend in with the lenses. I tried on Beuberry Cyrstal Clear browns today and got a totally unexpected color effect. I guess the appeal of the Adela lenses is the fact that not many circle lenses come in metallic designs and patterns, not how well the show up on the eye per say. Pic of Beuberry lenses. Man, I buy way too much make-up. Stuff on the left are full size, stuff on the right are samples. VIBs were able to get two SK-II deluxe samples with a purchase and since I've been itching to give it a try, I bought a bunch of sale stuff. I normally wouldn't buy Sephora brand stuff (I'm pretty sure it's not much better than drug store brands), but it was on sale for $3 each (the kohl, eyeliner, and turquoise crackle polish) so I said screw it. I've also been super obsessed with nail stuff lately, so I got the top 10 mini set. It's a little over priced, but I want to try all the colors so meh.

I'm also pretty sure the samples of the GlamGlow mask and Ren Day Cream are going to get substituted since they took them off the site right after I ordered.

I got confused about the listing, though, and I thought the bloomers where the petticoat, because the pictures were all taken of the items laying down flat and it looked like a skirt. Oh, well. I think I'll just end up making it into one anyway, because a portion of it is badly damaged.

I use GlamGlow every 2 weeks or so and it's WONDERFUL. You don't need to cake a lot on to get great exfoliation. My face really does have a healthier "glow" for the next day or two. I got mine from a small beauty store in Dilllards where they sell Dermablend and things like that. I bought the smaller version and the sales lady gave me a couple samples for travel.

So I totally missed the reserve, but found one on ebay which I assume is from the last release of their raincoats. I'm going to have to make a matching waterproof hood or something though, since umbrellas are fairly useless in my city - we get full out storms more often than light drizzle.

My Baroque OP looks like it might arrive in the next few days. It was posted from Korea three days ago and it's already in the UK. I think I might *just* have avoided customs charges, but there's no telling yet.

My Baby OP is still nowhere to be seen, but I'm not too worried as I've pretty much decided I'm selling it.

The drama with Gloria finally came to an end today. Customs held onto it for weeks like it was some kind of explosive. I didn't think to take a photo, but there was a giant angry gash in the box that I was sure had reached the dress. Japonica wrapped it like fort knox, thank god. I'm not sure if it's just the material, or the previous owner or what, but the headbow sits a little funny.

Everything else is stuck in CNY, which is odd because I ordered everything well before the holiday. It just makes me anxious because I need 90% of that stuff for a con next month.

My new look blouse just arrived.
It looks much nicer in real life than in the stock pic, it's less white but more broken white/cream, less opaque as it's chiffon and very IW-esque
That's £16,99 well spent imo!
