First time I'm going to be buying from taobao (most the items anyway). Been tinkering with the coord a while because I know I want to make a fab purchase before I commit. The coord is pretty cute, my suggestions would get different shoes, something not as wintery or casual. Even regular pumps would look better. The tights looks off since the apples are sort of a polkadot print so it's weird having polkadot tights. I'd go with solid sheer black. The beret is cute, you could add some small black bows to it. Last I'd throw on some jewelry like a long chain neclace with an apple on the end and some apple themed charm bracelets or something.

>> No.6529291

>>6529264

The coord is super cute and the only thing I'd be wary about is the pink blouse. The rest of the pink accessories work fine but I'd go with a white blouse for a backdrop to the print since it doesn't have pink in it.

I"m not 100% confident with the hat, Suggestions are very much welcomed. I'm thinking perhaps just plain black wedges (I'm stuck between black suede with a bow on the back, or black leather with a heart cut-out in the heel), but I'm not sure what to do about tights (brown, black, cream or lace?) My first coord, I have realized I am terrible at picking out wigs. Not sure if I want to use these earrings, and not sure what to do for leg wear (maybe just some fancy patterned white tights). I'm unsure if this blouse will be fine to go with this because of the black buttons on the sleeves, but I think maybe it will be okay. Going to get some rings to go with it too, probably not a necklace or a bracelet, though.

That skirt is gorgeous, wow! I'm with you on the hat. I feel like it could be really lovely, but has too much going on? IMO I think it would look nicer with more flowers on it. You could always just buy a boater and add silk flowers and ribbon/lace. Even dried flowers would be a lovely touch.

As someone who owns this dress, I'd say that the neckline of that blouse is not going to sit like that. The sleeve/strap things really do want to sit out diagonally on the shoulder and you'll probably get an awkward gap between collar and puffy sleeves.

Are you sure it was pleaser, and did you purchase it, or know someone who did, or... give me a time other than "a decade before MMM"? Because I got really curious about this and checked out pleaser, and they say they started as a company selling shoes in 1993. The MMM bag dates to 2000, possibly earlier. I'd give you 7 years is close enough to 10, except, when I look up pleaser in the way back machine, they have bags on their site back in 2003 in their catalog for stores to order stock from and it's not among them. It is however in the mix in their punk section a few years later (2006 or earlier) after they started caring "gothic lolita" bags that are covered in lace.

are you sure the pleaser one is not a MMM replica?

Thanks so much, you two!! It completely slipped me how perfectly this dress would go with the cuffs! I'm sort of in love. Could I get some input on non-print coords for now, though? Like what color blouses or JSKs/skirts do you think would look good with this? Full-on sax with yellow accents? Shiro? I don't own March of Ducks and even though I really love how good it would work with the cuffs I want to see how much I can make do with versatile pieces. :) Perhaps removing the ducks on the cuffs would make them easier to coordinate, but that was a part of their appeal to me when I got them.

>> No.6531622 [DELETED]

The only reason I questioned it is because the browns were everywhere. The corset has other colors in it (warmer browns, olive greens etc) to go with it. I'd seen people work corsets into coords before, but I suppose it would be better with a plain colored one that matches the blouse/skirt rather than a bright color in the middle. Most of my wardrobe consists of pastel stuff, and I'm trying to work in more gothic/classic elements, but it's hard to do when you don't have much outside a few items to go with. I do have a plain black headbow, but I've not gotten much use out of my bonnet.

>>6531600
The skirt is brand new, from yesterday, never washed. The other browns are very saturated, that's probably why it looks faded.

>> No.6531647

>>6531573
Thank you for the feedback.

I had a feeling something was really wonky about it, but I thought it was mostly the browns being everywhere and I don't have anything that is more like a bronze tone, just saturated brown. The socks that came with the skirt in the lucky pack are too on the sweet side to go with it, but the brown at least matches (why I threw them in). I put the corset in because I've seen people working them into coords before and wanted to experiment. But I suppose I'd really need a plain colored one that blends into the blouse and skirt better. I do have a plain black headbow to use (maybe clip one of the darker brown roses on top too). I just don't get much use out of my bonnet and wanted to try it out for shits and giggles, hell it's at a small con. But maybe a skirt/blouse combo is a little too dressed down for a bonnet? Idk.

Sorry, I have a mostly sweet pastel wardrobe, and trying to work more classic and gothic items into my wardrobe, so it sort of feels like I'm starting over just trying to coordinate with one item.

>>6531600
Skirt is brand new (arrived yesterday), but it probably looks faded because the browns are a lot more saturated and I'm surrounded by brown in the picture.

Hmmm, you've got a lot of interesting elements in here, but all together it's rather overwhelming. The bonnet/headdress is lovely, as are the tights, and I think the corset could work as well, but you need to let ONE of them serve as your statement piece and keep everything else toned down. I think the easiest solution is to save the corset for another outfit and find some cream/offwhite flowers for the headpiece instead of the rosy-colored ones. Hope this helps!

Not sure why everyone is so concerned about the pink blouse not matching the dress, that's like doing a pink x mint coord with a mint dress and a pink blouse, as long as you have other pink elements in it (which you do) it's fine. I'm more meh about the tights, to be honest, since it's a big block of white in what's a mainly lavender x pink with white trim coord. I'd go for pink tights myself, or something printed in a theme echoing the dress.

Having such a huge wig without any hair accessories might not work so well, unless you're intending to have the straw hat, in which case just use your own hair.

I'm also not sure about the shirt, is it one you already happen to have or one you want to get? If it's the latter, I would recommend something less in-between-classical looking and more sweet, like this (without the ribbon).

I'd also accessorise a bit more, maybe adding a bracelet or a couple of rings, since you've started with the strawberry theme in your jewellery you could work it through the whole outfit.

Same with this one, bracelet and hair accessory. If you go with a cream bag for the last one, you could reuse it with that dress. Help, I cannot shoes.

I'm trying to work out an outfit for this skirt that works with shoes I already own. Currently leaning towards pink x pink x pink with the left-most boots, but wondering if any of the other options would work with a complimenting blouse/top/accessories - certainly I'll lose the boot toppers and go for plain tights if I was to wear any of the heels/flats.

I think I'm going more for lolita-influenced-with-pink-leopard-fur as opposed to lolita at this stage since all the coords I think up are pretty casual.

I don't really have brown in my wardrobe except for like...one blazer which is more chocolatey and not the same shade of brown as the skirt. I was thinking maybe going with maroon tights since it is quite a pink/red-toned brown, and then the boot toppers/boots, but that would leave me trying to work maroon into the top part. The other option I thought about was nude tights + pink boot toppers + boots, or nude tights + flats without the boot toppers and maaaaybe going for the brown flats.

>> No.6537221

>>6537201
Yeah, I think nude tights would break up the pinkness, so you could do the boot-toppers and boots since they'd have the brown in them. I personally don't like flats in lolita but that's just a thing.

>> No.6537225

>>6537221
That's why I ended up calling it more lolita-influenced, I think. I don't think I want any more poof than the photo if I'm going with flats. I usually wear shoes with low heels, like the black boots on the right, or platforms. I feel like the poofiness of the skirt makes you look stumpier in flats.

They work best with a dress that doesn't have a busy print. Solid color dresses and dresses with simple prints with accents that match the tights are your best bet.

Sorry for my shitty collage skills!

I managed to find this Baby dress for cheap on Mbok, so I quickly snatched it up. I have my prom this year, so I wanted to do a sax-themed Hime coord.
Since prom is rather formal and I didn't want to look too childish, I figured I would keep the halter look and scrap the blouse.
Also, it's probably pretty hard to tell by my shitty drawing skills, but the hair I plan on doing is a high bun with straight-across bangs and lightly-curled ringlets on either side of my face. It was really hard to find any pictures close to what I want to do.

Any and all advice is greatly appreciated! I have a long time until my prom, so I want to make as many tweaks and adjustments as I can so I can order everything in time.

Why a white blouse? You have no white anywhere else on the coord unless you go with white tights, which would be much better than random stripes but maybe just look like you don't know how to match beige.
