SS quick review:
Excellent. They're English is very good and their cart system is awesome. They sent messages about delays and measurements of items by email and in-site messaging and they usually responded to emails within one or two business days. All items arrived.

Shipping was via EMS. Items weighed 9650 g. Shipping cost was 147.13 USD (with paypal fee).

Shipped Dec. 21, 2012. Arrived Dec. 29, 2012 (but wasn't here to pick up so had it redelivered today).

Shipping cost was only shipping. Items cost 439.91 usd with paypal fees.
Adding shipping from my previous post would make the total 587.04 usd. Some of the items are brand (at least that's what my friend said) which made the item cost total a bit more.

I think they're excellent quality. The studs and all that crap doesn't seem like it'll come off easily since I wiggled them around. The platform is sturdy and well made.

I can't wear them (my friend's shoe size) so I can't say anything about comfort but from sticking my hand inside, it seems kinda hard so it might need some insoles.

They're incredibly sturdy, they're amazing! I only bought these because they were the only shop that carried them in size 41 but the price was well, well worth it! I wish I had some for myself!

I'm in love with the sailor outfit! I used TBR and in the order form I asked for blue, but I got black instead? In the listing, Chrome translates the color choices to either blue, or brown... so I don't know. I mean, for some reason it just slipped my mind in the picture they sent me.
But anyways! I'm super happy with it anyways, I think I enjoy this color more! The quality of the fabric is very good, it definitely doesn't feel like it's going to fall apart or anything. The only thing off about the items was that there were a few loose threads in the button holes. I'm incredibly petite (4'10") but I bought size M and the suspenders fit perfectly, which is what I was most nervous about! I would definitely recommend getting it!

Sage because I forgot to talk about the purple wig. It's incredibly soft, not too thin but not incredibly thick either. I pulled it out of the bag and combed through it a little bit and had no tangles in the least!
As you can see from the pictures, the front and back of the wig are two different colors. The front has some pink mixed in there which I think makes the color look very nice!
Sorry for the poor lighting, I tried to make the colors look as true as they do IRL

What does it mean when domestic shipping is free? Usually I skip these, because I just assume the items are out of stock. But the only "cheap" versions of the bag I'm looking for, the domestic shipping is 0 and it says on the listing that they have some in stock (as in where it says "30天售出:50件 " 50 is the amount in stock.

Help? Anyone know why they put 0 as shipping? Is it okay to order from them?

I'm just scared that the domestic shipping will end up being very expensive since 0 was just a placeholder or something.

However, be aware that they shop the lighting to an extreme on their photos. The soft pastel colors aren't really what they look like in the photos. If you care much between a white and an offwhite/cream/tan color, then you won't like them. I bought a bunch of things from them. All of those "pure white" looking clothes turned out to be a cream/off-white color. Everything pink I bought turned out to be somewhat orange, like a salmon tone.

They sell mostly gyaru-ish things, but most if not all of their blouses are loliable and very cute.

agreed, some things are cheaper to get on eBay especially the 99 cent stuff like jewelry. All you have to type in is "korean fashion" or whatever. for brushes, just type in "make up brushes" and stuff will definitely come up. i've gotten some brushes from ebay and it's actually cheaper to buy from there than taobao. regardless, both are cheap.

I hear ya... It's way passed midnight now and all I've been doing these several hours (actually, the last 20+ hours) was on Taobao. It's just so enjoyable - finding all of these "deals" and savings hundreds of dollars and not having to deal with the ridiculous 200% mark ups in the country from stuff that originally comes from China anyways. I only buy lolita items now, because the shops have a good track record, and I don't buy generic clothing from taobao. I've been disappointed so many times. I come to cgl, see people happy with purchasing random shit, I try again and I just end up disappointed.

I can read some basic chinese and I read all the reviews before buying. I also refuse to buy anything that has no customer reviews. but I always end up disappointed. even if it's my fault, well, anon you're not alone

If you have cute stuff try selling on tumblr too, not just eBay. I've had more success on tumblr actually but that's only if you fit a niche (like selling "kawaii" clothes or hipster clothes). Also make sure you have really clear pictures. Take them in natural light if you don't have a great camera.

The biggest thing though is patience. Selling stuff takes time. If you want money right now, this might not be the best way to do it. You can takes more expensive brand name stuff to a consignment shop for quick money, but you won't get as much for it since they want a big profit.

just try to find one of those custom lolita coats. i bought one from a random store custom made. there aren't any problems with it and it fits perfectly EXCEPT for super loose buttons. that's a really easy fix, though.

You're JUST like me. I bought a shit ton of things from Taobao. I never buy generic clothes because I don't want to go outside of lolita. But everything, the blouses, all turn out to be shit. For instance, I've noticed with sizing charts (this is REALLY fucked up to me) that with each size increase (S to M to L to XL), the length is sometimes increased by ONE cm! Or two. So when I order a size Small and have them request to make the sleeve length to 29 inches, I get an EXTREMELY oversized shit that's like a size XLLLLLL.
I don't blame the SS, because the SS was pretty upset about it to and even got to return it and asked again.

What is bespoke? Honestly I bought from "reputable" lolita shops: Classical Puppets, White Moon Lolita, and Rose Melody. I bought blouses and had them custom made. I had ONE made by Infanta, but it was still, oversized. I was thinking I was doing the measuring WRONG, but no, I've been to several seamstresses here in the states and my measurements are exact.

I think the reason they do it is because they don't understand that being short doesn't mean you're skinny, and that being tall doesn't mean you're fat... Really, I think it's fucked up that the higher the size is, the more cm are added to the length.

dif anon, plastic like material? DoL uses quality cotton IMO. The only dress that uses broad-cloth like matieral (not plastic like) is the Little Bear's Cafe. That dress feels very heavy. But their other dresses (I have a lot of replicas) use nice cotton. I also have brand dresses, and the fabric type is close to the same.
Bodyline IMO has stretchy/polyester/cheap fabric for their dress. DoL does not.

DoL's quality, the fabric is also not thin.

Plastic? That's bizarre. I only have 3 blouses from DoL, and their quality is good. They use nice, thick cotton. I was worried that the fabric would be thin and transparent. I have a few blouses that aren't custom made, short sleeved which I prefer, and I know what thin/transparent fabric is like. Only iffy part is the buttons, but I have that issue with most lolita stores I buy from. I always remove the buttons and sew them back on because all buttons seem to always be too loose. Also, with DoL, I ask Taobaoring to ask for pictures of the product instead of their stock photos, before ordering. I receive about 7 detailed shots for whichever item I want to order before ordering. I'm very cautious about quality myself.

The wigs, were beyond belief. The store didn't have any crowns (just a diamond), and I bought 27 wigs from them. A few in the same colorway. The one thing to watch out for is the curly wigs. Even though every wig shop out there uses stolen photos, they're probably from the same factories anyways. But with curly wigs, sometimes the curls get... Ugly? Like black people curls. I mean, in the mail, some got really tangled and ended up in knots like black peoples. My package was in customs and severely delayed (took 2 months SAL), and was opened twice during customs. A few of the curled wigs were PERFECT and they weren't messed with at all by customs (I could tell, because the bags they were in weren't ripped and taped back up). Also, even when I ran my fingers through and combed/brushed the curls, they stayed in shape! They didn't get frizzy or anything! THe quality was amazing. The wigs were all soft. Very little shedding and care needed for them. They weren;t thin either. I've had a lot of wigs that, I could feel at the top, the threads and how badly they were sewn into the cap because they were so thin. But these wigs I bought were amazing.
This was the store I bought all the wigs from. Some are still 20 yuan, but it seems that after I made my large purchase from them, they raised their prices a few yuan lol

I will take photos tomorrow, these are just bad quality photos of the wigs. Well, the dark brown & light brown, you can't really tell. But if you can see any difference, the actual dark brown color is the color of the "light brown" in my photo. It's 3:45am right now and I haven't slept yet lol. The wig cap is adjustable. I don't know how big your head is. I have a pretty big head (i've been told) and all of the caps fit me. There is no brand on the wigcap. The fiber looks/feels like Japanese kanekalon, but I may be wrong. It's good quality and very natural.

I read a few reviews saying that buying cosmetics from taobao was very risky as many of the cosmetic items contain lead in them and are very bad for the skin- that according to EU and USA standards of what qualifies as adequate and safe cosmetics is sub-par at best and that people were better off buying from local stores or whatever.

With that being said, sorry I am not of much help.
I would like to second this question however, as I am always curious to read more reviews in hopes of a store that maybe is a quality makeup seller.

Those dresses are pretty heavy, but the shipping wasn't very high because I used SAL.
The total weight was only 1.890 Kg actually.
I used Yoybuy and here's the amount I paid:
$175.28 for the dresses and blouse including shipping fee in China + $26.86 shipping + $17.50 service fee + $1.30 customs fee + $6.63 insurance fee = total of $227.60.
It was sent December 27th (2012) and it arrived yesterday (04-01-2013) so that was pretty fast too.

Seagulls, I need help finding something.
Lace thigh highs, stockings, knee highs with LACE AT THE TOP - just not short socks. Now I've seen hundreds of these with lace at the top, but I'm referring to the kind that is frilly and droops down lace, I'm not talking about that ugly nylon stretch lace.
An example would be the stockings Madoka Magica wears. It's like inverted wrist cuffs at the top.
