There have been occasional entries in non-anime art styles, but the generic anime crap always wins so I think they all gave up bothering to submit stuff. No wonder submissions are down. I'm still buttmad that surfer loli from months ago didn't win (anybody else remember it?). The style was different and it was really cool and interesting and I loved how non-srs it was.

I can't draw *anything* except horses, and I toyed with the idea of submitting a drawing of a Decoration Dream pony in a more realistic style, but I figured it wouldn't go down very well because a) IDK if people even still like sweet and b) all I can draw is horses and wtf do horses have to do with anything.

Oh god, I'm more excited than I have any right to be. People will *probably* hate it, but I actually have a pretty cool idea in my head as to what I'd like to do. I don't think it'll even be accepted, but it's worth a try.

That's an example of my work. The bones are terribly done because I have zero experience with anatomy, I fucked up the horn and I didn't use a reference, but it gives you a basic idea. If my skill level isn't up to scratch, then I shall practise until it is.

That's okay! If you scanned a sketch or something, I could do the lines digitally or, if it's a really clean sketch, just play with the lines digitally to clean them up, then add in like a girl or something like that. I don't normally draw girly things but I think I'm pretty versatile.

I don't think coloring would be an issue either. I kinda like the flat colors Angelic Pretty uses in some of their art and god knows it might be a nice break from all the shinydesu shit I see coming from the lolita regions of this board.

The only medium I'm *okay* at is watercolour, and occasionally coloured pencil. I don't know how well digital and traditionally coloured things would blend though. I like your idea, though.
