Let's talk casual gal and Korean fashion for a little bit. We all know you can get clothing like this from Taobao but what are other websites or stores where seagulls find similar clothing?

What are your favorite stores? What's the quality like?

Bonus for places in the USA with actual storefronts but online stores are fine too!

I would honestly avoid "wholesale" sites like
sammydress at all costs.

The pictures are not the actual pictures of the actual products a better site would be sheinside or oasap maybe even choies (make sure to get their 15-25% discounts)

Don't shop at romwe everything is OVERPRICED as fuck. The only reason romwe has so much hype is because people like
funkychin (fauxfawn, faugekin*(?)) and other lookbookers entice you with them FOR FASHION BLOGGING

Which pretty much means they get a cut of how much you spend (around 8% actually) whenever you click their "shareasale" link to romwe. Also it's often that romwe sends them clothes for free if they have enough followers on a blog and sometimes they do so on a monthly basis. This pretty much involves them sending you store credit to your romwe account.

They will lie lie lie about the quality and will often try to "entice" you into buying into romwe with photography photoshop and of course fashion knowledge.

Honestly... it's not really the store but what specific pieces you can find that generally fit the specific fashion genre.

I mean I could go to Asos, F21 and H&M and still find cutesy looking european ensembles.

Also a really important part of being "kawaii"
is hair and face. With a good body and the right hair, makeup and features a girl can make almost anything look "kawaii". I hope you guys understand.
Pic is slightly related..

$15 is nothing. Taobao hits you hard with shipping. I've paid anywhere between $50 to $150 for shipping from taobao, and as a result will never buy from there again. They draw you in with cheap prices and then rob you on shipping. Not to mention everything falls apart and is generally disappointing. The only thing I am happy with from taobao is a pair of shoes I got from r-series.

>> No.6490713

Because you were using EMS, and not SAL. SAL takes like... an extra week and is a fraction of what EMS is

I bought like $400 worth of stuff, paid maybe $5 tops for each item i bought, international shipping included

Honestly I would rather take my chances direct from taobao, where I can see individual store ratings and items reviews

>> No.6490743

>>6490608
Oasap, sheinside and choies all do exactly the same and use lookbookers for enticement!
Oasap (and possibly sheinside and choies I can't remember) don't even use their own photos and lift Taobao ones.
They're all on the same level.

>> No.6490760

>>6490743
Actually wait, before I forget, Sheinside definitely don't use their own photos. That's why they always look so shady and badly pixellated/stretched.
I've received free stuff from all of those, and honestly they'd all be too much of a gamble to suggest anyone actually spends their own money on it.
Sheinside shipping takes forever, and the stuff can be hard to get a proper picture of, but I've yet to actually have a bad experience with the clothing itself although the prices are too hiked.
Oasap shipping is shit tier, I had to wait 3 months for some items earlier this year. They also don't use their own photos and are probably the worst for price inflation, although the quality of most (but not all) items I've had from there was quite good.
From choies I was sent a blouse with a h&m label in it. I'm not sure how it happened, but I'm guessing either factory reject or surplus stock. I've been a bit iffy about doing any more with them.
Romwe are the most hit and miss for quality. I don't know how to tell which stores they get their stuff from (and it's even harder now they replace all labels with their own label) but certain items have been amazing quality and you'd end up paying less than you would for the same quality domestic, but other items have been so horrific I've hardly been able to wear them and so overpriced it's laughable.

They're all a risk given the price upping, and it'd probably be more worthwhile just to look around the non-pretension wholesale sites rather than the ones who have ideas of themselves as something better if you're dead-set against taobao.
But if you have to use one, Chicwish is probably the best. I've had consistently good quality from there, the girl I've been in contact with from there is lovely, they don't seem to hike the price AS much and they take their own photos as far as I know.
But still, they're all a risk that I don't think seems worth it if it's out of your own money.

What is Liz Lisa, exactly? Is it some lolita bondage store or something?

I kind of thought it would have to do with Lisa Frank, but I guess it doesn't.

Why are you in this thread?

Also, why would you think it was associated with bondage if you also thought it was Lisa Frank?

HEY EVERYONE
do not buy from Romwe
>do
>not
>buy
>from
>Romwe
it's all Taobao stuff, like straight up
and it's also shitty quality
and also, even if you pay for faster shipping, it will take at least 2 weeks for them to ship out

and also, they will use your photos. even if you didn't buy the product from them. they tried with Chokelate but enough people bitched so they took it down.
the only positive reviews i've seen were from people who got their stuff free, because for free it is awesome. the stuff is cool looking, but you can get it for 1/4 the price on Taobao and get it just about as quickly depending on what shopping service you use.

I always hate it when my favorite bloggers plug Romwe. It's such a fucking scam and some of them are even into Jfashion so I'm sure they know about Taobao.

>> No.6497228

this a billion times

there should be a tumblr or something dedicated to finding the original source of items sold on romwe

i recognise the tattoo tights and onespo cat dresses, but can't find some of the other stuff on taobao

this is a great idea!
i have a pair of leggings they sell, got them on Taobao way before i knew what Romwe was. i think they're like $50 on Romwe and i got them for like less than $10

the studs fell off so fucking fast, but they look cute without the studs anyway haha

>>6497183
same, a friend of mine actually encouraged me to buy from Romwe. or at least didn't warn me. i was so pissed.
needless to say i don't talk to her much now, never for advice, like i spent a few hundred dollars and she didn't give me the slightest hint.

I bought from ZIPIA, their quality is a hit or miss. They generally only have a "one size fits all" with dresses (they fit huge on me, I'm 5'0" and 98 lbs) so I stopped ordering from them. I have ordered really cute accessories (hats/shoes) and a beautiful bag that I've used for over 4 years (it never fell apart, just got super dirty from overuse)

I do shopping surveys on soompi.com (it's an asian fourm). They sometimes have taobao surveys on there too. I found it much cheaper than ordering it by an agent because they only charge 2 bucks per item (sometimes they even lower it to 1 dollar per item if you order a lot from the same store).

Hope it helps anon!

>>6492633 here, ty anon! Do you think zipia's quality better than Taobao's or pretty much the same? I assume from the prices it MIGHT be better, and they're supposedly all Korean-made, but huh. And I'm 5'1" 110 lbs so I'm guessing they'd be too big for me too...

asia-fashion-wholesale.com probs has shit quality, pic related. I've never personally ordered from there, though.

F21 is horrible in my opinion. I ordered a sweater from there (cause we don't have actual storefronts here) and the sweater was prickly and ridiculously short.

I actually bought a pair of jeans from them that fit me. But the dresses are really oversized on me. The cardigans I also bought were meh. But the quality com paired to taobao is much better.

ZIPIA for accessories are pretty awesome. Loved all the bags, hats, and shoes I bought from there.

I've mentioned this before in similar threads but Rue21 is great for super cheap otome and gal styles..even a little mori here and there. The only catch? They only have physical locations, no online ordering of any kind. Not really sure why but they change their inventory over like every week and if you see something you like come in you can just wait a few days and it'll already be like 50% off. They do also carry a lot of lame "trendy" stuff too that you may have to dig through and their website is never updated as quickly as their stock is so keep that in mind. I wear mostly otome and about half my wardrobe is from Rue. Quality on most things is quite nice; only ever had 1 thing that I needed to take back and it was easily exchanged for something else. So if you can get to one of their stores I'd say it's worth the trip.
