I have a few questions.

Firstly, Taobaoring has gotten my stuff and they're waiting for the second payment. However, they didn't take pictures like they usually do, which is kind of bad because I was looking forward to that. I ordered a few things with multiple color choices so I would've liked to check that they were correct.

Are they going to take the picture if I wait for a few days? Or are they just too busy to take pictures near Christmas? I'd like to get them before Christmas (don't say I'm late, I ordered all the gifts two months ago) so I can't decide whether to pay or just e-mail them and ask about the picture.

Secondly, does anyone have the search term for jabot? 假领子 only gives me those fake collars, what I want is something like picrelated.

Also, I need eyepatches for cosplay (plain black or white) but the terms I've tried only give me 1-3 pages of extremely low-quality looking props or pirate patches for children.

Does anyone know of a Korean shopping service that doesn't charge a minimum of $20 for their fee? Please no mallingkorea, I know they are cheap but I had a godawful experience with them

Ive been looking around for a while now and it seems like the fee is either really high, like 20% or so, or starts at $20.

Maybe you guys can help. I'm looking for small colored wooden mannequins. (maybe 4-5 inches tall)

I've looked myself, but found a bunch of naked ladies, medical practice mannequins, and 12 inch plain wooden ones.

I need to buy around 100 of them, but I haven't found anywhere that carries them cheaper than $6

(don't mind the watermark- I pulled it off some chinese bulk site that doesn't list prices.)

I hate things that don't use SAL shipping. I don't give a flying shit if I don't receive the item within a week.
Using Taobaonow shipping EMS: $90+. Airmail was $100+
I only bought 2 pairs of shoes (none of them heavy IMO) and 2 pairs of slippers, and a bunch of lace. I don't understand why in the fuck shipping was so much. My order (without the shipping) was only $80 not including SS fee.

Using Taobaoring, I bought $600 worth of stuff. I used SAL shipping and it was less than $30 to ship.
I bought 6 lolita dresses, a few cosplay wigs, 3 pairs of shoes and a bunch of accessories. I bought over 40 items.

Also, I HATED Taobaonow because of I bought this dress and the quality was fucking TERRIBLE. It was Milanoo made shit. It was so awful, I'm like WTF this looks NOTHING like the stock photo. That was the dress that I was most excited about getting too...I;m really disappointed that not all SS offer SAL shipping and they try to rip you off saying 40%-50$ discount with EMS.

Just watch what people use and like.

I've used taobaoring and Bhiner, and had good service with both. I've also heard good things about pruany, taobaospree, and taobaonow. Look around and see what you like the most.

Also, don't let the horror stories scare you completely off of taobao shopping. Just see which SS is the most reliable.

Picked up my order from the post office yesterday!

I'm really really surprised by the quality of the Fantasy Sheep wig, I bought it because it was the only character-specific wig (or even wig of this color) I could find, but it's gorgeous in person!
The CC Kids wig is silky and pretty as usual but I ended up not needing it so idk what to do with it yet. The colors are blended really nicely.
Maid dress ended up being a tiny bit too small for me. I took out the darts in the back which makes it fit now, but it's almost impossible to zip up myself because of the way the sleeves are sewn to the bodice. Not 100% happy with it, but it's cute.

Buying from taobao is a huge risk as is for getting shoddy items. And like the other anon said, you definitely ordered heavy shoes. You'd be surprised how heavy things actually are. Seriously, took the ring to work and measured it and it was a 5-5.5 at best.
Now I should say that I work in jewelry so I may be hyper critical, and I love the grief seed.
Whatever the mettle the ring is, it ether has nice think plate or it is solid. I had it on my pinky a few days and it did not start to rub off, it did scuff a bit so I expect it is a low grade sterling-silver type deal.
The detailing and oxidation on the gem side of the ring are nice, though they did not oxidize the bottom of one side.
The engraving imprint on the back side is also nice, crisp and clear.
The grief seed itself seems to be made of the same material and is oxidized all over. I bit the tail end of it a little bit and the oxidation chipped a little bit, I expect this will fade over time like any oxidized peace and will look cool and weathered in a few months.
it is a really nice size for a pendent, and the chain is about a bit longer then cleavage height on me, so it sits nicely on all my shirts.
The chain is smooth and does not hurt the skin.
It is a very deep purple, and I like that, you don't see the center of the bead obnoxiously like you do in the stock photos unless you hold it up to light. It is very sturdy and I don't think it will warp.
It is respectfully heavy, but does not hurt my neck or dig the chain in.
I kind of hate the seam in the middle of it, but all and all it is a nice peace.

Don't order makeup or food from Taobao. If you absolutely must, use Tmall and some great caution.

I'm not saying that the Chinese rub nuclear waste over their bodies and eat it for dessert, I'm saying that Westeners lack the experience you need to safely choose and order good-quality cosmetics. We don't even know the fucking language.

Reading Western makeup reviews for products sold in the West, there will always be some few people who love it even though it's the worst shit you could possibly put on your skin.

Also, makeup is already cheap as fuck in the States, at least compared to Europe.

The biggest thing about buying cosmetics from Asia is that they only have a tenth of the cosmetic regulations we have here in the US. This prevents companies from selling you products with cancer-producing ingredients, lead and other chemicals that we have determined are health risks. Sure, the price may be cheaper but you are buying products that have not been tested to make sure they aren't going to ruin your skin or body the more you use them.
I'd rather pay a little more to know that my products are regulated and aren't going to hurt me.

I actually buy all my makeup and skincare stuff from China, because I find the products to be better suited for my skin.
But I still rarely buy anything from Taobao since anyone can sell anything there. If you really need something, ask an Asian friend to pick something up for you at the local mall and mail it. It might even be cheaper than getting it online because of all the store/mall discounts.

Another thing to be wary of when buying from China, most of the fur is real fur. It's mislabelled intentionally so people wont be put off buying it, (Large companies that export to western shops do this a lot too) and because most of the time it comes from stray cats and dogs. So if you're really anti-fur or vegan, I wouldn't advise risking it, because you're most likely paying for fur that came of an animal whist it was still alive.

Silvi's quality is...pretty normal. They're a bit thinner than most cosplay wigs, but also tangle a bit less (since they're thinner, I presume.) They also photograph pretty nicely - even with flash they don't turn into a massive shiney blob.
