That first one was designed to be a halloween outfit, and I know, but there's a lot less of it in /cpl/ than in /fa/. And I don't really mind that it's Hot Topic mallgoth-y, I go to Hot Topic all the time just to get a glimpse at the hot chicks coming in all "goth"ed out. Plus, I designed it specifically for this one friend of mine who has a natural hourglass figure, huge honkers, and amazing legs. I just need to get her measurements and then I'm making it, and life will be good.

2nd)I'm guessing that's supposed to be a corset? Anyways, that wouldn't translate at all, clothes just don't work like that. Also steampunk isn't generally bright colours, nor is a corset alone steampunk. Honestly other than what appears to be goggles(not the right type for steam punk) there's nothing really steampunk about this
3rd)it just really clashes in general, too many things wrong with the design but I'll sum it up to "there's a way to do asymmetry and many ways not to do it"

I don't mean to be harsh, keep practicing it will only do you good, use references to help you build an eye for what looks good and what doesn't. But you're not at a very high level drawing or design wise. This is stuff I would expect more from a 10-13 year old who just discovered anime/OC's/fanfics.

Actually no, the second one isn't a corset, it's basically a one-piece swimsuit. And it's actually something I designed for a character in a steamspunk RPG, and it was generally accepted as a fitting outfit for the occupation the character had.

Pretty much this. Also, I'd suggest maybe printing out a template to draw your designs on rather than the method you're currently using. Do a google or DA search for "fashion template".

Use regular printer paper instead of wasting a sketchpad when you're just making these rough concepts, and use a lightbox or even your computer monitor to trace your designs over the template on a separate sheet of paper. If you're using a flatscreen monitor in place of a light box, don't press too hard or you'll damage the screen.

Using this method will make things look more organized and you'll learn human proportions and improve your art skills in the process.

I take it you don't have a scanner, but you could try outlining your finished designs in pen and bringing the photos into Photoshop and colouring them there instead of using markers and what looks like cheap coloured pencils. That was you can easily play around with different colours and shades, and even patterned fabric if you find a picture of a fabric you like online or want to use Spoonflower to make your own fabric.
