Damn, when I see cosplays made out of taffeta, the material is used by people who are not really talented with sewing yet, so the results end up looking really wrinkled and horrible. But this, yum.

Taffeta is a great fabric and relatively easy to use, but most people seem to think it will work for all the wrong things.

If you want a fabric with a lot of body and flounce, taffeta is great. It makes amazingly crisp collars, corsets and pleats and ruffles. It's also good for a heavy skirt.

IDK why you always see people using it for things that should be soft and fluffy, maybe because its shiny and relatively cheap and those with money will often opt for dupioni in its place.
