Anyone have any good characters who wear glasses? I have to wear my glasses at all times; contacts are not an option for various reasons. I was thinking maybe Homura when she has her glasses on?

I recently had to get new glasses because I needed a new prescription. Said new prescription was going to take about 2-4 weeks to be put in my other glasses so I needed a pair to allow me to see for that time. I ended up getting red ones, partly so that I could cosplay Mari, Rarity and Yukiko.

I did the same thing too! I did it back when Evangelion 2.0 film got released and I absolutely loved Mari. Three weeks later after seeing the film, I got my check up and then picked out red frames like Mari's. They've been great for Mari, Yukiko, and Moemura.

I did that once when I forgot to put my contacts in my quick change bag.
It was the BIGGEST hassle ever.

In my opinion you can cosplay any character you want to. Bespectacling characters for cosplay is fine, even if you don't take them off for pictures. Just watch out for flash.

Many (fan)artists add glasses just because it's cute. Picture somewhat related, Patchouli doesn't normally wear glasses.

I have a friend with an eye condition she's not comfortable with, and it would be really stupid to rule out every character with both eyes visible. She just adds a medical eyepatch or gives the wig an additional strand of hair to cover one eye.

You could get Goggles that have your prescription for haruko from FLCL or a load of other options. But a Character (that does wear glasses atleast once) is Ninamori. Also from FLCL. She wore them once I don't know how many people would see that but there are not many episodes to begin with

Not OP but I am in the same boat (except male), I can't wear contacts because experimental laser surgery from when I was a baby left scars on my eyes, putting contacts on could mess with the scars and subsequently mess with my eyeballs. And I'm nearly blind WITH glasses, I've tried taking them off for photos and I can't even see where the cameras are anymore.

Do places like Zenni Optical still have cheap prices for extremely abnormal/thick prescriptions? Glasses normally run me around five hundred dollars so this could be great. Anyone have any good European sites?

As for cosplay, since some glasses came out as official evangelion merchandise, you can find photos of various characters wearing some even when normally they don't.

Even then, the free lenses from ZenniOptical go down to -20.00 in each eye so I think you should be fine
