Just took my BABY shoes out of storage, and I'm reminded of how laughably bad the quality of BABY shoes are. The front came out after the third time I wore it, and now the 'leather' is cracking off and peeling off in clumps after a year in storage.

They are even worse than my secret shop tea parties really. I know most of you already know how crappy BABY's shoes are, but I suppose this might help those who are considering buying them. I'll never buy shoes again from them, that's for sure.

Also, the sole seems to be hellbent on releasing itself from the shoe.

Gonna epoxy the fuck out of it and use black boot polish to try to salvage this sad mofo somehow. Wish me luck!

Yea...shame how company's can include as little as 17% leather in an item and call it leather. I'm sorry you're stuck with those shoes, find a cobbler?

To be fair, these aren't leather but labeled as fake leather on their site. It's probably pleather. I'm just astonished at how crappy their pleather is. The design is cute but the quality is just shoddy beyond belief.

please show us a photo of the place you stored your baby shoes in, to give us a better idea of the whole situation

I left it in my cupboard. With the door shut. It wasn't like it was under sunlight or anything. The pleather scuffed really easily even before storage.

Some people can be really gross and store their things in inhumane conditions, lament that they fall apart later, then deny they didn't take care of it. I'm not trying to whiteknight baby, I know some of their shoes really suck, but knowing how it was stored would give a clearer idea of the whole picture imo.

everybody's anon here, not sure if OP practices good hygiene.

Idk, i've had shoes just fall apart after being in storage for half a year, it often has to do with heat and humidity.

Ugh god, I'm scared. I've had most of my shoes in storage for 2 years now because of frequent moving. And while my climate is relatively temperate, it's not climate controlled, so I might just be screwed.

I kept my tea parties in the same cabinet and under the same conditions, but they were totally alright. I know you aren't trying to white knight, but I just thought that it's a helpful comparison to make.

Wow, my baby shoes were not like that at all, they still look good after a few years :( Maybe you got a bad batch? Or something... yuck!

>> No.6457463

What's the best way to store shoes? I know some people will just throw them around but are there any special things that can be done to really keep your shoes in tip top shape?

All my Baby and AatP shoes have held up astonishingly well given the frequent and harsh wearing conditions I've put them through. I guess I've lucked out with certain models being better?

>> No.6457478

Did you remember to make proper preparations for the time in the storage? I always end up doing a full job on all of my shoes before I put them away for the winter, especially leather.

OP here. Used black shoe polish and it looks marginally better. Took off a bit of the pleather surface with just a light polishing idek.

Frankly I just don't think these pair of shoes are worth saving. I'm going to wear them with black socks till they self destruct (which seems to be soon).

You'd be better off buying from Axes Femme or Dip Drops really. I'm combing taobao for a pair of black pumps now. Thanks for hearing me out cgl.

I've always wanted to go to a Meta brand tea party if i ever go to Japan but some anon said the other day that they are really strict with the dress code, down to shoes. Are Meta's shoes any better or worse than Baby? BTSSB shoes are pretty notorious for bad quality.

>> No.6457608

My Meta platforms suck - the pleather wears away each time I wear them.

>> No.6457629

After hearing so many stories about Baby's shitty shoes it's a wonder people still suck the brand's cock so hard when lolitas post negative reviews.

>> No.6457632

>>6457629
Their shoes are pretty much their only fault quality wise, though (sometimes their pleather bags can suck, too). Other than that, BABY is 99% reliable. I won't go into their customer service, though.

OP here again. I've had their stuff run on me countless times. So yeah, I pretty much have terrible luck with Baby. I do love Midsummer NIght's Dream though, it's handwashable!

Ah, I forgot about print running. Luckily it's never happened to me but I don't own many prints from Baby/AatP. I wish all the brands would try to prevent running.

My friend has had a pair of Meta flats for a good few years that she wears very regularly and, as well as being comfy as fuck, are still in great condition.

For shoes I won't be wearing for a while, I tend to store them in soft fabric bags, in a shoe box with info about the shoe on the outside (so I can find 'em again easily). That seems to be fine. For boots, I stuff the ankle/calf area with an old (clean!) t-shirt to help keep them from flopping over & getting creases.

I have two pairs of Baby shoes / boots that have held up very well, but they're both real leather... I don't see the point in paying brand prices for pleather shoes.

Anyone own AP shoes that aren't tea parties? Like a style with even a tad larger heel?

I was considering buying something like the pic related or boots. However I wear the fuck out of my shoes & don't want to blow cash on it if its shoddy.

I have their Dolly Fur Boots, it is my second winter wearing them and they are still quite quality considering that we have lots of snow here.
