Yeah, I deff agree about the cosplay thing.
I really wish he would get a wig and more accurate glasses more than anything.
I talked to him over email for a bit about his cosplays and he said he plans on working a lot harder on his next one. He didn't seem like a bad guy, just really proud of himself. I hope I can make it to Anime North again this coming year so I can see what he keeps talking about. He says it's going to be even better than his caledscratch. Large velcro rollers for the flips, spray the shit out of them, apply heat (blow dryer or garment steamer), let cool/dry COMPLETELY, remove rollers. Lightly comb them out to seperate them, apply MORE heat spray to hold them together.

To get the fiber to curve in close to the head, use pipe cleaners, apply heat and spray. Keep the wig like that in storage to prevent the shape from warping. Pic relevant.

Do what >>6457304 said, and what I did for my curl is I got the basic shape I wanted it, and to keep from spraying the shit out of it and give it a more natural look, I actually used a safety pin to hold it in place. I know it sounds weird but it keeps it from being pressed flat against your head (which I feel looks awkward) or looking like you bathed in glue for it.

I don't think people actually stop and look at Ben Stiller's shades when they pick out their Dave shades half the time. Gold-rimmed ones are incredibly easy to find at the mall for cheap.

I keep coming to this thread and using the photos of the cosplayers for 15 minute sketches. I can't kick the habit of drawing their bodies in their entirety before clothing them though. So I keep drawing naked cosplayers right down to their love handles.

I really think it is shopped, since she has a grey halo around her head in the background that doesn't seem to be anywhere else it should be. From the way her wig seems to blend with the background, it's like she colored over it, then applied some kind of blur effect and then only cleaned up her face, probably because the background was too hard for her.

But why, Heaven. Up until now, I've ignored the drama about her that goes around and been cordial in person. Sure she pumps herself up to be this amazing cosplayer when she's average, but there are worse people out there.

Now though, she's charging huge amounts and being a shady fuck about it. To spend $170 and gets those horns, that nasty plasticy wig, and what I'm sure is a cosplay with a million raw, fraying edges and loose thread,

that's deceitful and terrible on the seller's behalf. She's gone from mediocre cosplayer to someone conning people who don't know better.

I think it's really just the addition of the lace in general. Instead of adding to the cosplay, the fact that it's unfinished, overly gaudy (in my opinion, at least), and calls attention to the fact that the bottom of her tunic does not come to the canon point all work against her. In theory, I think that a touch of lace could add to the godtier designs but not in this case.

In addition, she doesn't appear to be wearing a hood.

I do like her makeup, though; she has a cute face, and I like the small detail of the green nail polish.

It's so strange how Heaven reads all of these threads and makes it clear that she does, yet takes none of it as any indication to attempt to improve her personality or behavior. She's moping about it on Twitter.

If she's aware of the problems, then why doesn't she stop acting so awful? How hard is it to try to develop some honesty and/or let go of some of her pride and admit that she's nowhere near as awesome as she makes herself out to be? How hard is it to stop scamming people with her overpriced and amateur costume work?

It doesn't seem that hard to me, but then I remember that this is Heaven, she of the crying attention whore gifs, and so self-improvement is probably a Herculean task for her.

hey /cgl/ ive got a question on god tier jade's shirt.
someone made my shirt for me a while ago but... its not exactly the nicest quality (it was an old turtle neck with a smeared on space symbol...)
im just wondering what the best kind of material would be? im relatively new to fabrics, so im looking for something slightly stretchy but that can take paint on very well!

I know that she was one of the first Dolorosa cosplays that was actually good; the only things I dislike about it are the horns being a little dull/too wide and the wig looking... bland. But her construction is pretty solid - I've seen it in person before.
