Sounds like it would have a similar effect to exfoliating, i.e. getting rid of the tanned skin cells and promoting growth of new, untanned ones. That wouldn't work for making untanned skin lighter, I think.
It also kind of reminds me of when you stay in the bath too long and the skin on your hands and feet starts to wrinkle and lighten significantly. Note sure if I'd want that to happen on my face, though.

Note that I have no idea what I'm talking about and if someone would like to correct me then that's awesome.

Well, as I mentioned, it WAS a solution posted for tanned skin, and a couple of anons here mentioned they would like to get rid of their tan(summer just finished, after all).
But I think you are right regarding the effect being similar to what would happen in a bath that went overboard, as the skin would be exposed to the humidity of the moisturizer for several hours throughout the night.
Not so sure about it being the same as exfoliating, tough. But if it is the same as exfoliating, then it WOULD work for untanned skin as well as exfoliating gets rid of dead skin cells and encourages the creation of newer, lighter skin cells.
I am thinking about trying it out tonight as I'm about to have a bath and I have half a bottle of cheap(Ooh la spa) moisturizer. I MAY post the results tomorrow, if the janitors won't delete this thread.

I've used this soap before, to lighten my dark underarms.

It actually works, but you have to use it in a very particular way, and it takes a while (like at least a month) before you see any results.

1. You absolutely have to stop shaving your underarms while you do this, and don't wear antiperspirant. Try using something all natural or baby powder or something
2. Lather the soap, along with some aloe vera gel, on the dark area
3. Keep the lather on as long as you possibly can, preferably until it dries. You'll feel tingling. Then wash it away.
4. Repeat, every day, multiple times a day.

After a while, you'll notice that the dark, dead skin will start to peel away (this is from the acidic properties of the soap)

Weird thing is, most of them had white skin, and at least 3 out of 10 girls with darker skin had green eyes. Is that common?

I lived in Japan for four months, and whitening products were EVERYWHERE. It's engrained in all their products. Simple face cream? "WHITENING" Body wash? "WHITENING" It's like America and their whitening toothpaste/gum.

Also, I think a lot of it is lighting and photoshop. 90% of Japanese girls had distinctly tan skin. Pale is considered beautiful, but it's more natural for them to be more tan. I noticed this on the guys especially. I think girls stay out of the sun religiously to avoid becoming darker.

Mexico is a country, not a race. So no, it's not weird.

There is a socio-economic correlation with skin color though, which is why dumb Americans think that all of Mexico is pretty much black. Mexico has a HUGE class disparity (bigger than the US even). It's only the poor ones that bother to come over here. And the poor ones all have black and Indian genes.

I have been using this stuff for about 2 weeks in advance to a con to make my skin a shade lighter for a cosplay.
This mixture lasted me 3-4 days. You don't use all of it at once, but use a part of it and keep the rest refrigerated. You can make more but I would advice against it as it may not have the desired effect if it's older than that.
I used a two table spoons of plain greek yogurt, four drops of freshly squeezed lemon juice, two drops of extra virgin olive oil and two capsules of vitamin E. Mixed everything, applied a bit of it every night on face and chest combined half-half with my normal night moisturizer. Washed off like I normally would in the morning with a gentle cleanser from Lush.
I definitely got significant results within those two weeks, tough be careful as people may think there's something wrong with you as my parents and friends continuously asked me if I am sick and tell that I looked ill.

This amount of ingredients works for me because I have normal skin.
If you have oily skin, skip the EVOO and put 2 extra drops of lemon juice(bringing it to a total of 6).
If you have dry skin, do it the other way around: put only 2 drops of lemon juice and put 4 drops of EVOO, instead of 2.
Hope this helps, but be careful as this may sting on acne/cuts.
And remember, this is a night cream, so you need to avoid sun during this time. You will also need to apply a decent SPF moisturizer in the mornings, despite the fact that you wash it off.
Just my two cents.

Stay out the of the sun religiously, as others have said. Cover up as much as you can, and considering it's going to be winter, that'll be easy. Also depends where you live.... when I was on the west coast I was as tan as a southeast asian but then I moved out to the east and now every time I see my relatives, they tell me I'm woah so pale. Feels good man.

As for products, most Asian cosmetics have whitening! I particularly like Shiseido's Lucent brightening line, though. Good luck!

I see a lot of people on tumblr rage about whitening and how it's awful and racist and shit but imo it's a personal aesthetic choice. I like being pale because I can wear certain colors better.

>> No.6448226

Okay /cgl/, here's my experience with skin whitening. I'm an Arizonian so I get fairly tan, but I'm also asian so I want to be uuuguu angel white. In order to counter-act the mysterious properties of the sun and my yellow skin, I turned to the best place in the world for making yourself alien-like beautiful (or hideous, depends on how much plastic surgery you get)- Asia.
Now on one of my mother's trips to her motherland, I asked her to pick me up some whitening skin care products. She brought me back from Hong Kong the Methode Swiss whitening set. It included 5 different items, but let's focus on the two that really counts. First item was the Intensive Whitening Serum. Let me tell you, this serum definitively WORKS if you want to lighten your skin, and works well it does. A word of caution however, it is strong, and no doubt bad for your skin. This is a product that needs to be layered on top of something else or else your skin will burn if it's as sensitive as mine is. It will also make you super sensitive to both sun and any allergies you might have. In my case, I was greeted by the most horrendous case of hives I've ever had after I snuggled my friend's cat after applying this. Still, this product and the one I will talk about next got me to a snowy white complexion.

>> No.6448227

>>6448226

The second product is the Whitening UV Cream. Now this product contains SPF, but do as I say and not as I did, wear another sun screen if you're going to spend time in the sun. It's only a meager 15SPF so it practically doesn't do anything at all. This cream is absolutely gorgeous. It's smooth, it's rich, it's extremely moisturizing- but it is very heavy. Use a small amount each time, trust me. It'll be enough.

Although the set came with other products, these are the ones that really did the trick. They works great, and I recommend them. They are pricey though. I suggest, if you're looking to buy, to get them in a set- they always have gift sets for people. Although this isn't an exact copy of my set (mine had a few different products), it has the most important ones.

http://www.sasa.com/SasaWeb/eng/product/viewProductDetail.jspa?itemno=000001050905

I really suggest looking around the Sasa website. They're got a huge selection on whitening products, and I'm sure there are better and cheaper ones out there. These are the ones I've tried. If this thread is still around later, I'll write about the two new products I'm trying out. They're much cheaper and seem to be working alright. I hope this is helpful for you guys!

Most of Neutrogena's stuff is also great, I've heard. I have their Ultra Sheer Dry Touch SPF 70 and it's just as (annoyingly) absorbent as the Skin79 stuff. It does have a slight smell to it but it's not overly sunscreeny.

Hardly anyone is doing that, and nobody who believes that is worth taking seriously. You can't seriously believe that the negativity you could get for being heterosexual is even remotely in the same ballpark as the shit homosexuals get, anywhere. Even in super tolerant communities, homosexuals still get singled out and treated as funny caricatures rather than people. You are never ever in the minority as a heterosexual, not even in many LGBT nightclubs.

Of course it is. 4chan has always been about child porn, scat, hardcore porn, libertarianism, homosexuality, transsexuals, atheism and not believing in children's tales about a "god" and all sorts of shocking, freaky stuff.
Once being gay, liking traps and other stuff 4chan used to support became popular amongst people from the counter-culture, 4chan became conservative. It's now the rule to be heterosexual and even if you don't believe in religion yourself, you admit it's necessary for the society to function.
You now support the traditional family, morals and costumes from another era. You didn't even have a traditional family, but you believe in it.

Really, I've been here for over six years. 4chan never supported conservative values until it started being mainstream to support that shit.

Now let's end this because it's off-topic as fuck.

Anyone have friends/acquaintances who are getting premature wrinkles from tanning too much?

This 25 year old girl I know has crows feet! She fake-bakes about once a week. She's been doing it for a few years now. I can't wait to see her face at 35.

Being pale is difficult, since white skin is so unforgiving to every blemish and imperfection, but it sure beats looking old.

Well the problem is that they have to remove the surrounding infected tissues. So the actual site is small, but the extent of contagious damaged tissue can be much bigger.

They stitched hers up pretty good though. Sometimes if the removal spots are left open they can heal slowly or become infected.
There isn't too many pictures of younger folks with the removal scars, but there's plenty of old folks who get skin cancer who have this done.
