So, seagulls. Big JoAnns sale on Friday, 25% off your total purchase, 50% off items coupons, etc. Are any of you going to this huge sale? What are you buying?

I have a whole list of things I'm stocking up on for my costumes next year, and more storage, thread...just anything I can get my hands on.

Yes, you need a coupon for 25% off your purchase - if you have a smartphone, you can get it from the app. And its 50% off any regularly priced item although I imagine almost everything is on sale.

I'm planning on buying 3 yards of regularly priced fabric, will it do the 50% and the coupon or will they not do discounts on top of discounts? sorry for the dumb questions

>>6436121
As long as the fabric isn't on sale, you should be able to use the 50% off coupon. And the 25% is off your total, so it would be an extra 25% off each item.

Regarding Joann's and using coupons on fabric, doesn't a coupon only apply to the first yard of fabric you buy? And I could be totally wrong, but most places don't let you stack coupons. I think Joann's is like that too.

>> No.6436189

>>6436181
idk I usually use the coupons from my email, mailing list/flyer, and phone. And its not "stacking coupons" if its on your -entire purchase-. Usually JoAnns takes the % off your most expensive item for individual item coupons - and a piece of fabric that you get at the cutting table (example 5 yd of satin) counts as one piece. Not just the first yard.

>>6436181
A %off a single item coupon will be off one single cut of fabric, however many yards that is.
When you use a single item coupon in addition with a entire purchase coupon, the entire purchase coupon will not take anything additional off of the item that the single item coupon did, just off the rest of the items in the purchase that have not had a coupon used on them.
So, you can stack coupons, just not on individual items. It states that on the coupons ('cannot be combined with any other coupon' or something of that sort), but its a little confusing when you get into all of it.

Till 7 pm tomorrow, so I think I'm going to forgo the black friday trip. BUT I went last night with my coupons and the woman must have scanned the $15 off one instead of the $5 off....I didn't notice till I was out of the store though. Not like I was complaining I got a great deal on my stuff!

The only thing I'll have to say about the 25% off total coupon is that it states it is only from 6am to Noon. Some stores in the past extended it but it seems this year we're actually keeping to the rule about it ending at noon. Manager mentioned something about "stamping" the coupons up until Noon, she didn't go into too much detail yesterday.
>>6437059
We do student discounts but you have to apply on the website, not all stores carry the card that gets mailed out when you apply. It's ten percent off, but it follows the coupon rules; cannot combine with an item that used a coupon but will get on an item that is already on sale, no patterns, no irons, no Cricut, etc.

When I did black friday at JoAnn's awhile back. There really wasn't much of a line. at 6AM Also, nicest Black Friday crowd I ever dealt with. Guess nobody wants to murder you for a few extra yards of fabric. Though the line to checkout wrapped around the store. So you do want to get there early. Otherwise you'll get stuck in the checkout line for god knows how long.

>>6438134
It all depends on the store and how busy it usually is. The store I'm at now is located next to a very rich area (multi-million dollar houses, apparently Shaq's mom lives within the community), I've personally never worked opening but from what my coworkers have told me, we have a line of about 100+ people waiting before 6. However, the store I'm transferring to next week I've shopped at for the past two years at 6 am and the most I've seen waiting was like 30 people. So it all depends on the area you live in.

I got to JoAnns around 7:30 this morning, and was waiting until about 12:30 to get my fabric cut - it was already that crazy. I was able to get my 25% coupon stamped before noon so I was able to redeem it.

Spent a lot more than I intended, but I was able to use all 3 50% off coupons I got in emails and on my phone (they all had different codes, I made sure before I printed them out!). Managed to save more than I spent, and now have all of my fabric for my costumes for Katsucon and am probably going next week to get some fabric for a Christmas outfit, since I couldn't get it today (either someone had it, or it was out of stock, and I didn't want to annoy the employees when they were crazy busy with everything else).

According to google, I would have to drive over an hour to get there.
I'd rather take a train into NYC and enjoy my day there after visiting the fashion district.

Friday survived. I still have to work the rest of the weekend, but Sat/Sun shouldnt be as bad.

My store opened in August, so I think that made us busier than normal, but it went really smoothly. Our 'take a ticket' system worked out quite well, and customers were generally pretty polite.
Though there were a few people who got cranky for having to wait in line for 45 minutes.
On Black Friday.

I'm missing out on the deals because I worked a morning shift today and am scheduled for one tomorrow.
