Oh, I wish I had disposable income to make cute rooms like these...

I'd fill mine up with Rilakkuma and Cinnamoroll, along with other little Sanrio characters. It'd be clean and neat and it would smell very sweet!

I just want to say for people who want to try and cute up their rooms a little, you should consider keeping an eye on your local craigslist/garage/estate sale listings. Most places will haggle and you can always walk away from an item that is too expensive. You can feel good about buying second hand, and then customize your items to suit your taste without trying to find a desk in such and such exact shade of white to match your other furniture, if you bring a good quality picture of the color of paint you need to a hardware store they can create the paint for you and you can paint the furniture. Also consider getting a big bucket of modge podge, clipping out pictures from magazines and old greeting cards to decorate things. It takes time but believe me, it's worth it.

I have furniture i've gotten for free/cheap and altered, and I have furniture I bought brand new when I was still over excited about getting my first apartment. I love my "cheap" furniture and don't freak out if it has a ding or a mark (or falls off the back of a truck, which happened to my sofa, but we still use it!). But my $3000 bedroom furniture set I bought new was a major fucking pain when we moved apartments, and someone got a smudge of white on my dresser where it banged a door frame or something in a really obvious spot and it makes me really sad every time I see it.

Also, not sure how many other lolitas are like me, but I revel in getting a good deal on something valuable, so this is just like "hunting for brand" for my house only i don't have to pay SS fees.

I think it's a combination of lack of wardrobe space and simply liking their dresses so much they want to look at them always/think they make nice decorations even when not worn. I personally find it sort of messy, and would opt to have a mannequin instead if I wanted to display dresses.

So I posted this in the other room thread and didn't get any bites, I suppose it's more suited to this new thread anyways so here goes:

I'm thinking about modifying my built-in-wardrobe so I have extra hanging space. I just don't know how to separate my clothes!

Should I separate my blouses from everything else, or my skirts or perhaps even my normal clothes?

I honestly have no clue and just want to make everything more efficient.

It could be done in a bit of a nicer fashion but the concept is there nonetheless. I've seen ones in the past handmade from inter slotting mdf pieces.

You can always buy these from a store though. My store bought one is cast metal with a black lacquer finish.

I share the closet with my husband. So I have all my frills hanging up next to various brown, green and blue t-shirts. The rest of my stuff gets folded up in a dresser. All my accessories are in a jewelry holder thing from Ikea, and socks / hair accessories in little boxes, stacked on top of eachother next to my wigs on the top shelf of the closet. Doesn't really look nice at all.
