My vote is for the regular as that really symbolizes her character. While Gadoka is a lovely design, I personally think that her magical girl outfit is more challenging due to it's shape.

I have not once found a girl who was the spitting image of Madoka. I mean, there's always that one cosplayer that fits a character so well that you could see them being the real life version of the character, and I've seen quite a lot of them. I haven't found one for Madoka yet, so I'm going to give it a try.

Can anyone recommend how to construct Mami's shirt. First time sewer here. I know on bottom it's a circle skirt with a petticoat, but I don't know what to do about the top. I'm going to be using a real underbust corset for it, so I just need the plain white shirt, not with the corset thing. Figure it makes it easier.

I wonder if anyone's tried doing her shirt with a knit or a spandex blend. Whenever it's done with non-stretch fabric it's not tight enough and makes wrinkles around the boob area and that always bugs me with Mami cosplays.

I'm 5'7" and I'm slated to cosplay both Kyouko and Sayaka in the future. Since all the Puella Magi are 13-14 year old tiny girls I was worried I would look really awkward. I at least have the Safety net of Sayaka being the tallest main character.

If you tailor it properly the wrinkles in the boob area are not so bad. It does have the collar and the sleeves are puffy - I wonder if those might look off if you used a knit instead of a crisp fabric. I dunno though.

I'm cosplaying Homura but I just realised that I'm not particularly slender. Would this really matter?
My measurements are 84cm-65cm-95cm, but my thighs are rather thick.
Any tips to appear slender (poses, tricks etc.) would be greatly appreciated. It's my first cosplay so I don't want to mess it up.

Thick thighed, chubby reporting in. The black tights make thick thighs look much thinner. Just make sure to get a large enough size so that the pattern doesn't stretch too much else it will ruin the illusion. As well as if you get a shirt that's not completely tight on you, it will make any chubby less noticable.

I cosplayed the viking girl from the last episode for the movie premiere! I originally did it just because I thought it would be fun to dress up to the premiere, but everything else had been cosplayed so much that it wouldn't have been fun for me anymore. I intended for it to be a quick cheap thing, since I was only planning on wearing it that once, but I ended up getting kind of into it because dat character design, hahaha. It was fun! I'm curious if anyone has seen any other 12th episode cosplayers? I've seen a few half-assed bear girl ones, but that's it. I want to see someone do the jungle girl!

I don't know where the tights are from, I just found the photo on cosplay.com.

I want to cosplay this too, and I'm having trouble finding stockings as well. Sock Dreams used to have something like this but they removed it since because I can't seen to find them anymore. They were the right colour, just the diamond pattern was like crocheted on so there was some texture, but it didn't look bad. I've looked around and most people seem to be painting the pattern on with fabric paint. If you can find paint that has a stretch to it, it might be doable.

You can always make sure that the colour portion of the lens is more opaque, rather than translucent. Then it should show up on darker eyes better. Pinky Paradise has a good selection.

TBH I kind of prefer natural looking curls instead of the wide ringlets most cosplayers do. It may not be as accurate, but I find it more aesthetically pleasing. To each his own though.

I think a crisp fabric would help them bunch of nicely, like they do in official art. I would put an elastic at the top, otherwise they would slide down easily. Still, they should fit snugly around your arm so they don't bunch up too much and look bad. They just have them widen gradually as you go towards the bottom of the sleeve. Finish off with a wide hem, wear fingerless gloves underneath. You could put elastic in the bottom too if you wanted.

My boyfriend is doing a Kyubey gijinka for AX. He's doing a version of him in a business suit and we can't decide on a hair style. I honestly want to do either a Madoka or a Homura cosplay, but I'm not photogenic enough nor experienced enough in sewing to make custom outfits. That, and I'm too scared to wear contacts(my eyes are pretty bad so I have to wear glasses regardless) ... It's weird, I look good in the mirror but photos bring out the worst! yeesh.
