Ask a guy who knew almost all convention owners in Florida, staffed many, owned his own, and ran it into the ground anything.

Why are Floridians so terrible?

Why do you keep posting this?

You expect us all to be in awe of someone who knew all the convention owners in Florida. Oh what a big fucking deal~

Because they're all children of people who don't want to be there who are children who moved there to retire.

How much does it cost to actually start a con?

>> No.6371750

>>6371734
1,000,000 dollars.

>> No.6371773

>>6371734
Depends. I helped start a convention in the middle of buttfuck nowhere. The majority of the cost will be your venue, and we rented a school cafeteria for free our first year. The year after that we moved into the student union at the local university; That actually cost something, but it was still fairly cheap. Next year we're actually moving to the local convention center (our ninth year) and it's costing us about $15,000 to rent it for two days.

OP here

>>6371734
It depends. If you're hosting at a hotel, you get a room block. The more rooms you fill up for your event, the less you have to pay for the venue. You're usually looking around 10-$20k for a decent start-up.

Obviously you have free options like Libraries and Colleges

Avoid convention centers unless you have serious initial capitol.

>Why are all the new batch of cosplayers such attention whores?

all new batches are attention whores. That's why they get into it. They are at that age where it's all ME ME ME.

After a few years the shittier ones are weeded out and move to a new hobby. By then it's been a couple years and look new shitty attention whore cosplayers that have been into annie may since they were 3.

Did you attend any of the after-con orgies?
