What's the most have you ever spent for lolita?

Be it on a single item, or within a day, a week or a month.
Or when you take a look at your wardrobe and realized you could have bought a car with the total amount spent on it.

Not lolita, but alternative fashion is expensive stuff. My leather trenchcoat ran me about £250 after haggling it down from £300. Pricetag was twice that, but it was on sale.
It was fucking worth a week's wages, though. It's awesome. Snow and rain just bounce off, it flaps and flutters in the wind, it's warm, and it fits.

Boots are pricy. My current ones are £80 workboots, but I'm hoping to get a pair of New Rocks sometime next year, if I can budget the huge amount for a pair.

Trousers with the chains and D-rings and straps and things cost £50-60 a pair, plus having to ride into london to get hold of them.

Accessories are cheap, though; most of them I just bodge together out of cheap materials, and modify until they look right.

Best value of all is my belt, though. Thick leather, brushed aluminium buckle, and it cost me £15 or so, something like 15 years ago now. Literally no wear on it yet, despite being worn daily since then. Primary function is holding my trousers up, and it succeeds in that well.

Guys, let's say it in a percentage of our monthly salary so we all can get a better idea.

Within a month alone I spent almost 30% of my monthly salary for lolita (item price + SS fees + shipping + alteration).
And I still need to pay my rent, bills, and mainstream fashion shopping. I am still reasonable enough not to spend all of my monthly wages, but still.... sometimes I can't help buying things I don't need. Ugh :(

A 20% deposit might be fair to keep, but only if it was stated firmly in the post that the deposit was non-refundable. And even then, it wasn't like you didn't let her know what was going on.
