and mostly i'm afraid that this is what all bonnets look like to people outside of the fashion.

It's only the printed ones that aren't reinforced that look fug and silly. And then how you coordinate it also makes a difference.

I swear you've just proven my own point. I feel like, if you don't have that historical influence in your outfit that it can end up looking too childish, and baby-ish. With gothic its different because it comes off more classy and it gives your outfit that historical influence or eccentric edge that makes it ''pass'' in my eyes.

I agree its in how your coordinate it though, I can see it working with sweet classic-ish styles...

Oh this is exactly the kind of thread I needed right now! I've been looking through all the usual taobao shops for a bonnet but it seems to moment I've considered buying one they've all disappeared! I'd rather not buy from brand, do any of you have suggestions? I tried the taobao search term for bonnet but after wading through pages of kids hats I lost hope. I'm hoping to find a grey one, should I just try and find someone to commission?

Always though bonnets were a big age-playish but starting to like the amount of volume they give to the hair area without OTT wigs.
