Oh for sure!

Surprised maybe I missed the boat on this, but PT takes meds for depression and anxiety?

And she isn't even short, is she? I thought we'd established that she's 5'3, and said she was 5'0 - 5'1 to be more ~Nipponese~.

>> No.6282898

>>6282895

5'3" is still decently below average height.

>> No.6282904

>>6282898
I thought 5'4 was average for women in America?
Just checked Wikipedia (lol so totes reliable) and it's apparently 5'4.5, so she's not far below average height at all.

Depressingly, I'm four inches shorted than my national average.

>> No.6282914

She probably is petite. Petite is a euphemism for short, doesn't have much to do with weight nowadays. If you look at the petite section at clothes stores, they have the same range of sizes, from skinny to whale, just shorter.

>> No.6282944

>>6282898
5'3" is within one standard deviation of average height in the US, so no, that's nowhere near 'decently below.'
Average for women is 5'4" to 5'5" in the US.
(Average in Japan is 5'2" to 5'3").

>> No.6282950

Petite? She's a Cee Lo Green dwarf

>> No.6282961

I'm 5'2 and that's not petite. So she's definitely not if she's taller.

>> No.6282966

I've found that 'petite' just tends to refer to clothing sizing where the pant legs are shorter.
I'm 5'3" and overweight and make good use of petite sizing. Because my legs are shorter.
You can be skinny as fuck and the same height and never need petite sizing, because your legs are naturally longer.
That's all it means. Really.

This is one of my favorite PT photos.
I freaking love her hair here, it really suits her face.
The bangs and long hair makes her head seem more proportionate to her whole body.
I know PT was pretty bad at styling her hair when it was longer, but I freaking love how it looks here.
Short and dark hair doesn't suit her at all in my opinion.
More than looking more japanese uguu I think she just wanted to be the IRL Rukia and failed horribly.

It is. It just means "small". But it's also a word that's borrowed from French so the meaning might differ depending on where you live and the article of clothing. In Canada all the shirts have "small/petit" or something like that for that particular size because French is one of the national languages. I always thought petite in English terms just meant that the clothing was for shorter, skinny people. Interesting to know it just means you're short.

>> No.6283083

>>6283078
In the UK, "petite" is clothing sized for women 5-foot-4 (or maybe 5-foot-2, not sure) and under. The sizes range from a size 6 - 18, usually, so you can be petite and obese (although that totally sounds like an oxymoron).

>> No.6283088

>>6283083

It won't be 5'4", it'll be something smaller.
I'm 5'5" and I'm bang on average. It's probably for people who're like 5'2" an close to that like you said.

So am I but apparently that doesn't stop the clothing industry from labelling you as short. If >>6282966 is correct then you can be 5'4" and not be "petite" so don't worry too much about it.

>> No.6283126

Is 5'4" actually petite? Dayum, when did that happen. I always believed that 5'4"-5'5" was the average. Even in college I'm the tallest in my class.

I also always thought to be petite you had to be short and have a very small frame, just be tiny in general. People who are short and fat I always just thought were... well, stumpy.

>> No.6283127

>>6283126
yeah, but no one who wants to sell clothes is going to make a 'stumpy' range.

>> No.6283144

>>6283127

I would die if I waled into Debenhams or New Look and saw a hanging sign advertising there new "stumpy" range.

And then five minutes later I'd be walking out with a handful of clothes wrapped in "stumpy" branded carrier bags ;__;

>> No.6283145

idk, even in Japan 5'5" is the high end of average/normal. If you're 165cm or below you're an acceptable height for normal clothes/kimono/yukata. It's only if you're taller than that you have to look for special stuff for tall women.

I'm assuming that the averages also include short old ladies (which especially in Japan would make a massive difference). Or is it a certain age range? Teens in Japan are getting very tall. I work here and i have so many girl students taller than me (5'5" anon here)

>> No.6283146

>>6283126

It also depends on your measurements. I don't consider myself petite at 5'5", but normal trousers are always WAY too long for me, so I need petite jeans etc for my short legs :(

>> No.6283148

I have these crazy day dreams about PT being a Pythie (Pyhtia for you English speakers) who has known back in the Ancient Times as an oracle who sat above a natural gas leak and would breathe in the fumes and communicate with the divine.

Except in her case, she's in direct contact with something ferociously kawaii that knows of the hidden fountain of kaiwaiiness in Japan.

I am so tired of her bitching about her health shit like she's dying. So many people have chronic debilitating illnesses. And the damn "I have low blood sugar" shit. Bitch, you have been tested countless times and NEVER have been told you have low blood sugar. Just another excuse to be a fat pig. How can "petite" be negatively construed in any way? I always thought that it had a positive connotation. (I mean, I could see if you were a guy and someone called your dick petite or something...but in this context? What?)

I was talking about the way that PT received the compliment. The little emoticon she used suggested that she wasn't too happy about it to me. But I could be misreading it because I know fuck all about internet smiley faces.

I currently live in the 'official' "Land of Giants" (Holland) and I'm 5'4". At uni I'm constantly surrounded by other international students from China and eastern Europe so compared to them I'm really tall but then out in the city I feel like a midget. Shit's really confusing, yo.

>> No.6283491

>>6283466

I'm not trying to be funny here, but hasn't PT stated several times in the past that she is proud to be "curvy"? Maybe she thinks petite = anorexic with no curves.
