Vina and Candy trap are dogshit quality polyester. Popular because they’re e-celeb brands.
ACDC is slightly higher tier polyester crap.
Forest Girl is surprisingly good quality. Stuff’s made of cotton, linen and repurposed vintage crochet lace. It’s a niche style though.
Black Ribbon is also great. Good materials and it’s not made in taobao child labor factories. Better than some of the shit big name lolita brands have been putting out in recent history.

I'm trying to get something actually interesting and unique, not prints/posters that may or may not be AI, pins or keychains. 99% of clothes were insanely low effort, insanely low quality, or both. I'll spent $300-500 on a jacket if it actually looks like someone put some effort into it. I could make cooler shirts on Canva for $25 than half the shit that was available - low res stolen block images in middle of ill-fitting black shirt that takes up like 30% of the real estate.

Despite all of the doom posts I was sent about the long lines and overcrowding, I had a really nice time at AX this year, anons. And I hope you did too.

There wasn't as much cosplay (esp quality costumes) this year, vendor's hall was prize figure city, and AA had a high number of bad booths this year, but I still spent my entire budget and a smidge extra on some amazing stuff. Probably my most successful AA venture yet in all of my years going. I wanna see some hauls!

Basically photography plus writing articles and interviewing guests. It's as busy as you want it to be. You get into the convention a lot easier and have more access than the normal attendee. Met and talked to a lot of guests over the years. Also get to go to premieres, cover and photograph concerts, etc

If you want to do it, I recommend adding writing to your skill set because let's be honest we're dime a dozen as photographers. I see this a lot with concert photographers who only want to press buttons and don't want to contribute anything else. The publicists want more than just photos. Only exception is the video guys because that's a lot of work.

I didn't even bother. I'll be honest, I've lost that spark that really cared about shooting cosplay. You can always go to west hall near the parking garage and there's always a ton of cosplayers there. There's still a place for taking a bunch of photos with cosplayers and putting them up in a gallery for hits but I just don't do that anymore. I used to do multiple cosplay shoots a day with lights and all that jazz. Didn't even bring out a single light stand this year.

Don't let that dissuade you though. Get a camera, doesn't have to be fancy, learn the basics, go out and do it. Learn pose direction and composition to begin with. Learn how the camera really works and what shutter speed/iso/aperture each do. Add on lights later on for coolness but you don't have to. The Asians are more apt to go with natural light only a lot of the time. Personally I love controlling the light but it is a lot of gear to have to carry and you really need to bring a car so you can dump stuff off unless you want to hump it around the rest of the con

Only started attending in 2019, but from that experience it seemed like the last day is usually somewhat dead but Thursday - Saturday was pretty solid. Thursday gets the day 1 hype, Fridat/Satu ysually havwe the debuts, concerts, and announcement, while Saturday also has thowe + the general Saturday hype. Ending on a weekday is just rough for those weekdays since the cool shit gets forced onto those weekends leading to the huge crowding issues we saw this year/last year and has the last few days just have nothing going on since all the hype is gone and some people are back at work.
If I was a local, I'd absolutely just do the weekend days on awkward years like this one, but coming from out of state/paying a lot to fly here I feel obligated to stick around the whole con.

That said, I also think sexual stuff is more prominent in manga in general now than it used to be, think of how certain titles that used to be considered ecchi wouldn't really be considered ecchi now.
