It's a fun idea in theory but it almost always looks tacky and crazy to me. The corset ribbons in your photo are a little too chunky and vertically close-set for my taste, it feels like the ribbon is covering up her hair instead of adorning it.

Picrel is obviously a child from some mommyblog and I'm not sure if I'd like this style from all angles but its one of the only ones where I kind of like the execution and think something similar could work in a gothic coord. I think its successful because of the thinner, more understated ribbon.

of course there are many other braid styles but I couldn't find a full comprehensive picture. I find that especially if you feel your head is too empty after adding clips/headbow that adding texture to the hair really helps to complete the look. of course curling/crimping works too!
