Going to Oni-con in galveston, settling into the con scene with a small one and even gonna try cosplaying. I normally wouldn’t go first with people online but i’d rather not blow so much money on just a place to stay. Do cons have discord’s for this kind of thing?

There is some Texas Discord Cosplay server floating around dunno the link maybe google for some dashboard haven't been in it since covid. Good luck though, youmacon and anime weekend atlanta are the same weekend which a lot of people are probably going to. Good luck.

Most cons will have a room and ride sharing group organized on facebook that you can look into; not sure if oni does this too but it's worth a look, good luck!

I mean i was pretty late and couldn’t do any big texas cons this year. besides i kinda wanna start small ya know? just as much as activities, i genuinely enjoy meeting and talking to people, and maybe even make lifelong friends i would never meet in my home town. small cons like onicon seem way easier to meet people at compared to the constant hustle and bustle of something like matsuri.

i learned about sanjapan kinda late and i doubt i will get those days off work this early (part time) plus i don’t even have a cosplay ready lmao. but yeah i’m not hearing a lot of hype about onicon apparently. haven’t bought any tickets for anything yet. would you recommend colossalcon? i definitely love any chance to hang around Austin.

Colossalcon is at a waterpark in austin, normally the one in ohio and PA are pretty large party cons. I would aim for that over onicon or like any other con on that website. Ecchi con seems like it would be a hilarious drunken booze fest and is 18+ only
