Would dr martens look okay with old school?
They are my go to shoe for normie fits, since they're so comfortable and all my lolita shoes fit pretty horrible like I can't wear those out while doing actual things haha

Perhaps adding to this, I prefer square-shaped bags (like picrel) for everyday wear because they usually have a simple, non-distracting design pand are quite spacious

On the note of totebags, it doesn't have to be a brand tote, you could also try to decorate/diy a plain one given you know what you're doing.

Why would she get plain t-shirts with designs printed and then alter them all rather than get a custom printed cutsew made? Or making cutsews from scratch herself since she's used to handling the labor and then getting those printed (any local print shop can do that for single color print, just gotta call around for minimums and prices)?

I get the sentiment that they'd work better as actual cutsews than t-shirts but production wise (and ethics-wise, considering RRM has a slant toward sustainability and junk), it makes more sense to make the shirts herself and print it herself or have a local shop do it. Screenprinting is super easy but ink disposal/cleanup may be complicated in a domestic environment like her home so outsourcing just the printing part makes the most sense rather than having a t shirt made just to cut it up.

If all screenprinters have shitty products, that's all the more reason for her to handmake the cutsews BEFORE they get printed on rather than altering low quality t shirts into cutsews. It's honestly much easier to make a bunch of items in bulk from scratch than to alter a bunch of t shirts in bulk.

The suggestion to alter those t shirts into cutsews is weird from a production standpoint; it'd make far more sense to simply make the cutsews from good material and then pay a place to print on them (and you might even get a better deal per unit since you're bringing the shirts rather than having to buy them marked up from the print shop.

I don’t know why RRM girl doesn’t just make more of the skirts, headbows and bloomers that made everybody interested in the brand in the first place. This new restock is really underwhelming, and at a significantly higher price point. The bloomers from past releases were cuter and more reasonably priced, and way more popular. This new stuff isn’t really doing anything for me. RRM releases used to be bloodbaths.

I've done this before actually and pm'ed a seller of what was a wishlist of mine a BIN suggestion which they politely declined because another bidder appeared before they got to open my message. Because both I and the other bidder were desperate and smooth-brained, we ended up driving the price up by bidding against each-other just 2 days into the auction.

I still ended up winning the auction but it was an utter bloodbath in the final minutes and I simply could've not bid this whole time. Because I started bidding so early, I felt like I had to keep an eye on it all the time when I just could've tuned in for the last 10 minutes of the auction which is indeed the wiser, more controlled approach.

Meta’s long bloomers are great. they’re insanely comfortable. I’m about 5’1 and they’re a good length on me, but I think they could still work for peeking bloomers look if you’re taller easily. I don’t want to self post, so no pic, but they’re really comfy and I like the raschel lace. It looks great paired with more raschel lace, and can add a really pretty flourish when paired with simpler types of lace.

I was actually wondering if these were them as they were listed in her wardrobe but wasn't sure in the end. The lace looks definitely enough here, nice for everyday use and I think you can always pair them with puffy socks for more ott look. Almost every other GLB and OnS has an apron pattern. Type "gothic lolita bible pattern list" into google and an old but still useful egl Livejournal post will pop up. Miss Carol Belle's blog has scans and pattern listings for OnS. Also check the handmade lolita thread in the catalog, there was some apron discussion there as well. Good luck!

The pocket shapes are door shaped, heart shaped, the ruffles are usually tapered at both ends, the apron itself can be dome shaped like babys pattern from GLB, the front bodice piece is usually shorter at one end than the other, the list of modifications goes on. There is no lolita apron out there that is complete rectangles, let’s be real.

Original anon here, I should have phrased it better in my original post but it blew up so much I couldn't be bothered dealing with the fall out. I'd wanted something to draft from/ a pattern as I'd tried before but the "bottom" rectangle wasn't long enough for the gathers to look nice. I just wanted a good measurement for the bottom rectangle to get the perfect amount of gathering as I'd probably got it out by a couple of cms and didnt want to experiment.

They probably just cut rectangles, ruffled them, and then attached them at an angle to get rid of the squared edge. That's what I do for ruffles like these because it's easier to sew gathers onto a rectangle for me personally and have a bit more control over exactly where it sits and intersects.
