Shit, really? I just thought we buyers would have to cough up the fees to the postal office/customs like we always did with goods over 22 euros.

That would fucking suck. But I guess it's not surprising. Tons of people won't know about this change and will refuse their cheap ali packages when they are told they have to pay the tax and the declaration fee. They probably want to avoid that hassle.

Items normally go up 10AM Monday, Japan time. Ordering from them didn't used to be a pain but ever since Covid they've been really annoying to order from, you can see they have notices plastered up all over the site about shipping and payment.

If you're in the US, they haven't been shipping here because they've still refused to ship by any method other than EMS. EMS to the US is supposedly returning starting Monday, but I don't know if they'll resume shipping right away or not. You might want to email them and ask to confirm because Japan Post is expecting tons of delays with the rush of mail.

Luckypacks usually sell fairly quickly though, so you do definitely want to get your order in pretty quickly after they go up.

That said, there is a review of this same LP dress (the winter version) in the previous classic thread that was not favorable. You might want to check it out if you're looking to buy this.

I need an opinion. I got back into wearing and buying Lolita last year, after nearly a decade of just being out of it. (Lord of being poor/young problems.) Since then, I’ve bought plenty of brand and sold off the collection of Bodyline that made up most of my collection prior.
But every time I see some Bodyline stuff for sale, I instantly get in my mind that it’s cute and I should try it again. Is it worth it? (Follow up question: What are your favorite Bodyline main pieces and how do you handle them and not make them feel ita as hell? I keep looking at these old pieces I had and cringing.)

I’m kind of mad that this doesn’t come in solid black or white. It’s got a cute design but the way the colors match up makes me uncomfortable (despite liking all of the colors individually.) But I guess everything meta does isn’t going to be for me, and that’s fine. (I’m just desperate for some solid pieces lately.)

I only ever bought two things from bodyline because I found egl comm sales cheaper, but other than the boots that crumbled apart when I looked at them funny, I got a pretty sturdy skirt for them I still wear with my burando without looking out of place. But it was also a single color, with no lace, but lots of ruffles. The details are mostly pintucks, embroidery, and layering. It's kind of hard to fuck up with a piece like that. I'm sure if I'd gotten a printed piece or one with lace, I would have passed it along a while ago.

Tbh I find the quality of new Bodyline to be really bad. All my old stuff is holding up nicely, so I only buy older items secondhand. While Bodylines designs are hit of miss, if you get a good design that is made from a nice fabric it should be alright.

I think what tossed me off so much about the items I had is that the pieces I wanted to keep were a little too small now (it has been 10 years or so), so I sold them. But what I was left with were actually popular items from Bodyline, and they were just... So difficult to coordinate without it looking tacky. Every example photo I got of “good” coordinates were still off. I wonder if I was spoiled by brand so quickly, but I still loved the solids I had. I tried buying fitting solids and they all wound up tacky. I hate that I can’t enjoy something so simple anymore.

Echoing that older bodyline is fine. I have that tart dress as a throwaway for normie friends at conventions and it's decent. I've also got a squirrel party from like 2012-ish and it's decent. Their blouses are useful imo, and I actually have had really good luck with their shoes.

IMHO bodyline is just fine as throwaway items. If you can go into it being totally fine with not being able to resell it for much I think it's just fine to use it to fill out your wardrobe, but burando is a much better investment and will likely grow with your style more. Tbh I think every serious lolita outgrows bodyline main pieces, and most outgrow their accessories/blouses. TaoBao has so much variety these days, and better quality so that's where I'd advise you to drop your throwaway cash.

This. When your starting out and don't want to go ham, I think BL is actually a good option. You can figure out what colors, cuts and styles are most flattering on you without spending $$$. At the same time, I can't think of single grown lolita who still wears BL on the regular or keeps it for anything other than a throwaway dress. I'm shocked this hasn't blown up to anything bigger honestly, considering Bellshrimp got shat on online for an address mix-up that would have been easily fixed if not for the one person it happened to get sent to, and everyone was talking about responsibility and customer service/professionalism but mintkismet has just been skirting her resonsibility she took ons tarting her own business using illness as an excuse.

Tons of us have illness and have to budget our time and energy or get help or at least tell people what is going on, not just ignore them and anything we are supposed to be doing. I have worked for myself and other people despite dealing with chronic physical illness and mental illness I couldn't afford to get treated. If the rest of us who don't have the privilege of just giving our clients a big middle finger and going off to tea parties can figure it out, she can do, whether that means getting help with her orders from friends/family or refunding people and just selling the items to try to make the money back later if she truly can't ship it right now.

Take this advice with a grain of salt, but apparently front loaders are more abrasive than top loaders. Front loaders take advantage of the gravity and the force of the cycle (so tossing your clothes upwards as well), top loaders tend to only have one kind of motion which is just spinning your clothes on the bottom. This makes front loaders better for stain removal and stuff, but probably not something you want for delicates. At least that's what I was told when I was shopping for appliances.
Overall, I never had a trouble washing my lolita stuff in washers. As long as it's in cold water on low cycle, should be okay.

I wouldn't trust a dryer with lolita, because it's basically all the motion that's shaking moisture out. Just hang it somewhere sunny or dry and cool.

if you have anything with hooks though, make sure the laundry bags aren't a loose mesh or you're in for a fun time.

this discussion is interesting but idk laundry isn't that deep. just use the laundry bags, mild detergent, color catchers if it has a lot of dye, wash on cold, delicate or light cycle. hang to dry. done it for 10 years and everything is alright. glitter still present, flocking still happy. if the piece is special or you're paranoid, use dryel or something. that's it, that's laundry.

update: I may or may not have bought it anyway... I did. I got JSK II in sax. I wish I could get JSK I in black as well, but thankfully it's sold out. Very similar feeling to the wizard of oz print they had recently, but for some reason this one seems cuter to me.

they'll probably have extras added to the store for regular purchase when the reservations arrive, but it might not be every cut/color or in small quanity. The skirt is sold out, the black colorway of both jsks is sold out, and the pink is the only colorway of headbow remaining; so if you want a pink jsk your prospects are good, but if you want a black skirt then not so much. You can use the special request form to inquire about physical-store stock after the reservations arrive, and they might dig one up for you. For example, I special-ordered a jsk once and they were able to find it for me, but the matching OTKs were entirely sold out by then.

I had someone back out of a sale they already committed to because their friend had the same dress and they tried it on to find out it didn't fit. They were kinda rude about it too. I would have given them negative feedback over that, but I didn't because they had similar taste as me and I knew it was likely they'd sell something I wanted eventually (which did end up happening).
