I just assume poster is talking about how maxicimam and Meta still occasionally put out some old-school-looking pieces with a lot of shirring/elastic. Plus size maxicimam isn't actually as old as old school, I think? But it looks like old school and works for the style.

Meta's always had lucky packs where the skirts are fully elastic. Their regular releases vary a lot, but the lucky packs are made very simply and they simply put an elastic waistband on a rectangle skirt.

I'm 30. Yes there were lots of ita/sad coordinates labeled oldschool because they mostly consisted of offbrand/bodyline. However some of my favorite blogs or posters who lived in japan (or wore daily elsewhere) posted gorgeous oldschool looks with rare older brand items. Where do you guys find high quality cotton by the yard? Ive been wanting to make blouses based on some of my oldschool AP ones. Some of them are made of a nice soft breathable cotton material with a pretty texture(grain?) and I want to find something similar. I've been nervous about buying randomly online and the fabric stores nearby dont have what I'm looking for. Also a recomendation for thicker high quality cotton that would be suitable for a skirt/dress, preferably with texture to it, would be appreatiated. Price isn't a concern.

Cotton canvas maybe? I ordered some from Japan and it's honestly awesome. It's thick and has some texture to it, but it's still soft and feels really durable.
