If you're thin or even slightly chubby with boobs you can still wear sweet lolita; you just have to be careful with measurements on pieces. Casual jfashion is more varied so I have an easier time finding fairy kei and pastel type pieces that comes in an L/XL (I would be an S-M in western sizes but I like oversized fit on tops plus the extra room for my chest) than I do finding BABY dresses secondhand with suitable bust measurements besides shirred items. If I buy new and a release has a skirt I sometimes buy the skirt or an extra headbow if it's a big head eating one to get scrap fabric to add some room in the bust and keep the waist ties if it's a BTSSB one with those shoestring waist ties. If it has normal waist ties I save my cash and use those in the bust. I don't like thick waist ties so I feel I'm not missing much by using them.

In general it's far less effort to just limit purchases to what easily fits without alteration which is what I mainly do; sweet is really forgiving measurement wise and if you are truly thin and just have a large cup size (DD or above) you won't have many issues other than babydoll or similar cuts sitting in an unflattering way.

I don't know what other "hourglass" anons here do but that's sort of my strategy. Buy carefully and alter only if I have to for pieces I really want when buying new.

I recommend also having a bow or something on the bust to cover the potential pancaking, adjustable straps to make sure the bust of the dress is as lined up as it can be with your own, no high-waist/babydoll cuts, no sack cuts, wearing a bralette to gently smoosh the measurements, going for a more covered-up look overall, doing the top-button cardigan thing to break up the bust area visually, unbuttoning the middle blouse button when worn under a jsk. i haven't had to alter anything yet, but i do have to be careful about measurements when buying: IW has 100cm blouses (and their socks are nice and tall so I don't flash thighs either), and many new btssb releases are 98cm or more.

Before my reduction, I wore almost exclusively authentic vintage between 40-60's. I avoided anything empire cut and went for defined waists. Dita von Teese was a big inspo for me (she had a boob job) since she looks classy and elegant. I wore classic lolita occasionally and only wore things that fit properly, but you could still tell they were large.

gothic, whether it's tradgoth or gothic lolita, suits busty girls well imo. the dark colors kind of mask the boob size. elegant, long normie dresses that fully cover the chest area usually look nice. cute is a difficult one because hourglass shapes are inherently sexualized and men find infantilization sexy for whatever reason (as opposed to gothic or classic looks which are rarely sexualized) so it is seen as like a "sexy teen girl" type of thing. sadly.

Thin girls with larger chests can totally still wear lolita and look good. Don't listen to these idiots. I'm a US size 2/4 and wear a DD cup and there's plenty of things you can wear. Skirts and cutsews for casual (cutsews have just enough stretch to fit my chest, blouses almost never fit me unless at least partially shirred). Jumperskirts should fit you without too much trouble, just avoid front shirring (it stretches in a really unflattering way, stick with back shirring). Full shirring can look ok as long as you don't stretch it out too much (my bust is 92 cm so I'm well below the max on fully shirred pieces, they're really cute and comfy on thin girls). Avoid empire waists like the plague. Slightly high wasted is ok, a lot of dresses will look like that on you anyways especially if you're tall. Really it just takes a bit of patience and trying out different cuts until you find what works for your own figure. And when you do find a cut that works, buy all of them in all the prints and colors because a flattering fit isn't always easy to find.

Of course, this only applies if you're legitimately thin yet busty. Sadly most lolitas I know who wail about their tiddies not fitting into burando are really just fat and wouldn't have issues if they lost weight.

If you're a size 2 with a 92 cm bust, you definitely aren't a DD cup, you are larger. You might be using the +5 rule, which is a really inaccurate method. So, I have no idea what your underbust measurement, but I'll randomly guess 29 to be conservative. 29 ub and 36 inch chest would make you a 30F. Look up "a bra that fits" and you'll learn some real wonders about bra sizing.

Another tip for this person is that F = DDD which is still carried at normie places like VS so you don't have to go somewhere like Nordstrom for the higher cups. I buy their 32DDD size when they have sales. I don't think their band size goes much lower, though, probably 30 or 28, so if she's a low band size then Nordstrom is better for the selection (but not for your wallet).

It's not actually that huge to have a size like a 28D/DD though; it's actually proportional to the band. What's rare is that stores carry those sizes, and rarer that they have someone who actually knows how to fit a bra. The "band=underbust" measurement is a starting point, but so many factors like ribcage shape, root shape, spacing and where your breast tissue mostly sits also impact what size and style you end up in.

Japanese girls are apparently growing bigger (in all measurements though, not just boob size), but I forgot where I saw the statistic.

Anyway the diet of onions is probably negated because it's one of the few countries that seems paranoid about getting fat but it's totally okay if girls are so skinny they shiver in the middle of summer, so the diet of onions is pretty much negated by social pressure to just not eat much.

I thought for sure this would be easy but when I looked you’re right, this is often coorded poorly, esp on the legs. I think it’s because most of the lolitas that have this dress are ones that are exclusively into pastel and they don’t have any navy to bring into the legwear. The few other pastel and navy AP socks out there are the wrong color navy, much too dark for this bright blue. What I do is I have pink and white socks and then I wear my navy teaparties that I got from bodyline, the blue matches Pretty well. I see a lot of people trying to bring in silver or hologram for the shoes And that’s always a huge mistake. Or they just grab some other random navy item that they bought specifically for this one coord and it doesn’t match. You have to have a selection of navy items to choose from to get just the right shade.

I have the dress but I honestly haven't made a coord with it yet that I liked, either.

One of the things that I find a little annoying about it and why I don't reach for it super often is that the chest ruffles and sleeves are very bulky and a little cumbersome-feeling. It's certainly a mid-winter sort of dress but I find it difficult to wear in the cold with a coat because of how bulky it feels, moreso than other velveteen dresses I own.
