My engagement on posts used to be amazing, but then I stopped posting for several months to focus on my college classes. Now I’m posting again and my engagement is total garbage. I kind of expected this for the first couple of new posts, but it’s still not improving. Is my account just totally fucked from here on out?

She 100% draws hentai now. She doesn’t post it on Instagram uncensored/cropped because it gets reported and her account can get banned but a quick stroll onto her Twitter will show you she does drawn hentai now. I’d post caps but this is a sfw board.

I can’t imagine throwing away making your name through having your own semi successful clothing and accessories to draw generic anime tits

>vendetta

This word is misused so much here lately. And her anime tits drawings are bad. The new style she’s using really isn’t doing her any favors. She’s getting CRITICISM for how she’s handled distancing herself from her work. Nobody cared about it until she started the whole “don’t @ me” thing while still encouraging people to buy her old work. I supported her since her menhera socks days in 2016 and this new attitude she has is really not a good look. I hadn’t heard anything negative against her, even as she changed subjects, until this past week.

People are allowed to be upset, it doesn’t make it a vendetta.

>She’s getting CRITICISM for how she’s handled distancing herself from her work.
Why though? she was super chill about it.
Like I already said, she has good reasons to distance herself from people who think good criticism is saying shit like "her art is bad though!!"

Like come the fuck on.
Clearly a lot of people enjoyed her work which is why she did well at selling clothing with her work on it.
She wants to move on, so what is so fucking wrong with that?

Also, do you know anything about the redbubble account? Have you looked and compared it to her older work? it's not the same clothing for sale. The clothing I bought from her isn't available anymore. I looked through Redbubble cause I wanted to replace some stuff but it's not possible.

I supported since 2016 too but I'm not gonna turn on her like you are just because her art is "bad" and she draws tittys now.

What the fuck is wrong with you though??

Maybe start posting in stories more often to regain some handle recognition and interaction from those? Story interaction also contributes to ranking higher in individual feeds
Also just interact with others in general and they’ll usually interact in kind. Be friendly and social to others and you’ll have more people enthusiastic about your own posts— reshare work from your mutuals that excites you, make genuine comments of what you like on their posts, etc. Even if it doesn’t significantly boost your numbers, you’ll at least get some closer mutuals and kind commenters in the process

Her new style is bad. This looks worse on a stylistic level than her old work. Obviously you like her and you’re personally upset by people not agreeing with how she handled her transition but she was NOT “super chill” about it. I don’t have the cap because I’m not obsessed like people on the farm but her “don’t @ me” speech had more stories to it than just the one posted.

And the fact that she’s still wanting to make money off of her old style but doesn’t want to be associated with it is the issue with her red bubble. Those aren’t new drawings either just because they aren’t all of her old merch.

>What the fuck is wrong with you though??

Telling me to calm down when I'm not even really upset.. typical cgl responses dude. Like you're really not helping your side of the argument at all.
I'm ok if you don't like her work but you seem to be reading a tone to her posts that aren't there which is also common among gulls.

Her style doesn't look that different to me. Just cleaner.

Also, thought you didn't save photos? Yet you were able to post her work here.

I think she doesn't want to be associated with people like you because you really don't like her. And you've made that extremely clear.
But I'm pretty sure she deleted the other account because I did read her stories and she talked in depth about rando's messaging her and asking for her account because it had a high follower account.

I noticed no one is talking about that in this discussion either.

Quit trying to paint her like she's a huge bitch. She isn't one.

So I'm new to instagram and I have a few really dumb boomer questions, if any anons like to help out/discuss:
All my photos are total potato quality. I have a samsung galaxy s9, and at the beginning of my phone's life it took great pics, now it's shit. Is there anything I can do to fix that (I already take photos in good lighting, doesn't help) or should I start looking for a new phone or camera? If the latter, does anyone have any recs? Preferably something not too pricey, that still takes quality photos, I just want nice pics, I'm not super into/dedicated to photography/social media.

What filters do you like/use? This part of instagram confuses me the most, I suck at photo editing and I find filters mostly emphasize the potato quality for me. I know this is more subjective but I'm interested in seeing what everyone uses.

Also I don't care about reach or anything like that, I just wanna take nice cute pics that don't look like they're awful phone pics, and participate more in the online lolita comm.

For cosplayers out there, what are the best things to do on ig to build followers?
Things I do:
>use a lot of tags
>post during peak audience hours
>all my pics are well edited shoots so no closet or messy selfies
>reply/interact with some stories but mostly for those I know personally

Things I don't do:
>post s4s or f4f stories
>comment pods
>actively seek out and follow other accounts except when i meet people at cons or a mutual
>exclusively cosplay girl charas or crossplay. I think right now it's 70:30 and I wonder if it affects my audience or maybe it doesn't

Post regularly and often to stay at the front of people's minds, get excitement over builds by posting a lot of WIPs in stories so actual posts about them gain a lot of traction, and cosplay or post a lot in a specific "niche" (a lot of magical girl or bishounen cosplays, etc)

Use a mix of large and small tags-- if you can visualize someone actively looking up that tag and being interested in looking at your content, then it's good to include.

I've found that seeming like a real person and displaying your personality in stories is helpful, so people are more inclined to interact with you/ boost you in their stories
I personally find it difficult to comment on photos from cosplay accounts that are completely impersonal / are run more like businesses.

I (repeatedly) use 10 generic cosplay tags (which might be bad if the algo demon is real) and then add on 5-6 related to the fandom/chara specifically. Your account doesn’t have enough of ONE thing to make it interesting enough to follow for any niche community. If you want to focus on gardening and nature, you need to work on the layout of your photos. An overhead shot of whatever plant you’re looking at isn’t very pretty.

You might benefit from a pattern post schedule. Plant shit, selfie, photo of sky, shoe shot, and so on.

But if we’re being entirely honest, I would only follow your account if you were my friend irl

>> No.10405227

>>10404700
honestly I wish people were more open to selfposting. However, as people were saying, you're unlikely to get a follow from people here. Most people into jfashion are only going to follow strangers if they have interesting posts about things they care about. If my interest is lolita, why would I follow some random girl who posts mostly gardening pics?

If you genuinely want a follow, narrow your feed and posts down to just lolita/jfash posts and keep the rest to stories. You can highlight the stories and have a separate highlight for each interest, if you'd like. However, if you don't want to change, that's fine too, just don't expect efame. You have very pretty hair, I love the color.

The Lily of the Valley owner posts coords in addition to a lot of nature pictures and I think it works well for her, so I don't think you have to compromise TOO much.

This won't skyrocket you to fame but a few things that might help you a bit:
-A cute coord photo area in your garden to tie in your fashion posts to your garden posts. Try to "fill" as much photo space with green/plants as possible, to match the lack of empty space in your plant close-ups.
-Either go without the sky/cat/etc pictures or post them in "albums". IG lets you make a post with up to 10 pics you can swipe through, so if you MUST post them, put them after the first picture so your feed stays nice and cohesive. Or they can go in your stories.
-Along that line, I'm assuming you're looking for lolita followers so make sure coord shots are what you're mostly using as the first picture. Your garden is clearly very important to you so you might wanna show more of that in your feed, but if pictures of your garden outnumber lolita shots, most girls in the community just won't be interested
-Work on your eye for photography. I'd especially recommend looking through #naturephotography or whatever because that's what you post the most of. As it stands, the biggest problem you have is that most of your pictures aren't interesting or appealing. They look like you just randomly pointed a camera and clicked without thinking of the end result.

yes. generally, the more consistent your feed is, the more likely you are to attract people who like your niche because you're constantly putting out content that they're interested in. if you do half lolita, half cosplay, you risk alienating part of your followers with each post.

I used to hate those question ones, but now that I'm a social media assistant for my job, I love them. I have to comment on a lot of posts from customers, and it's much easier for me to think of something if they directly ask me a question. If it's just something like "I bought X, today is a happy day" I have a very hard time coming up with something to say that isn't extremely generic and boring.
It's a lot like having a conversation with someone, but they're only talking about themselves. It's really difficult to respond. A conversation flows much better when you're asking each other engaging questions and wanting to know more.
I've also noticed the quality of my comments is WAY better when I ask questions in my captions. I can have really engaging conversations with each commenter, rather than just "You look cute!" "Thanks!". A question like "Where is the best place you've held a meetup?" can garner a wide variety of responses which can stem into tons of different interesting conversations.

Wishing people would be more okay with selfposting. The thread says 'don't selfpost if you can't handle concrit', but some anons take such glee in shitting on people without giving concrit.

here's some concrit, ita.neko, your pointy eyebrows could be cute, but the ragged fringe and moustache aren't. They don't work with lolita. Your babydoll coord is cute but I feel like the angle your first 3 photos in the slideshow are at isn't very flattering. The last one (the body pic) looks more flattering for some reason. I think it's because the first three (especially the second and third) look like we're looking up at you, thus making your chin bigger than it is.

The blouse you wear in the post about bolo ties looks like an office blouse at first glance.

I think the problem with the fringe is that you have quite a long face, so baby bangs elongate it, but that could be fixed by wearing normal length bangs, or ones that end at the eyebrow.

The shoes that you wear in every post are fine, but your coords lean towards old school, and you'd benefit from a pair of more old-school shoes. The shoes give me 2008 vibes whereas your dress sense gives me 2005 vibes. I know it's only three years difference but there's quite the gap.

The post where you wear the meta silver/black OP is good (the first pic is weird, but you do you) if I posted that, I would have left out the first one and posted the second and third. Your legs look long and I actually don't hate the mules with the OP like I should. Twinning with the model is interesting too.

I have V-cut bangs, and to make them not look a mess without styling, it's best to have them a bit longer, with the point going in between your eyebrows. That way, if you don't want to style your hair for an instagram photo, it looks neat, and not like you just woke up.

I hope that helps. I like the old school vibes but I think some better shoes could polish your coords up. A pair of black RHS or platforms would work!

ayrt - that happened to me when I was a teen but it was by my white dad. Filipina women are constantly exploited by white men.

Fuck rich famous people that funnel their money into charities and don't jack shit in reality.
His old coworker is a fucking rapist.

I’m sorry anon :( I’m Filipino with a white dad too. Agree about celebrities, but the software that Kutcher funded really did lead to the rescues of over 100 kids so far.

His coworker, not him.

>Another lolita account likes my post
>Specifically two posts at the bottom of my feed
>Intrigued.exe
>Do the same to her feed
>Scroll all the way down and like what I like

Is this appropriate behaviour? On both ends? It's the first time it has happened to me.

Non-anon you are cute and I like some of your coords but your feed hurts my eyes, I’m sorry. Maybe there’s a niche out there for eye-hurty feeds.

In my opinion you should stop with the sparkle editing and find cute backgrounds for your coords

these don't look like the kind of quirky aesthetic photos you think they do.

Your feed is coherent because of the edits, but I also feel like your edits are your downfall. Your actual posts aren't very consistent in aesthetic, so the edits feel like you're desperately trying to save your feed by forcing them to go together. You'd honestly be better off taking your outfit photos in front of the same wall/area of your home. also I would cut the normie-esque weeb fashion. I do like the checkerboard theme you have with the fullbody, selfie/closeup, then another fullbody thing going on. Since you seem to like editing yourself onto backgrounds, I would maybe choose 3 or 4 that you really like and cycle through them to keep things consistent if you want to keep editing your photos. You're really cute though, and I want to see more lolita looks from you in the future!!

Is it best to post a set 1 picture at a time? As a group?

And is it alright to break a set with photos from another cosplay set?

Currently posting 1 picture from my Zero Suit Samus shoot on my IG every other day, but thought about posting another cosplay shoot next so it isn't all same-y.

so a lot of people like positing one pic at a time, three pictures in a row, so that their account looks aesthetic. id recommend not doing this, since each successive similar-looking photo will get less likes because people get tired of it. i spread my sets out in single photo posts over a long period of time, alternating between 2-3 sets so the content doesn't get stale
