They were not subtle it was an awkward 14 floor up with other people just awkwardly trying not to acknowledge them. Hotel didn't even have the courtesy of having elevator music. Every now and then someone would slap his arm and he would start shouting no no words and it was a good time. Turns out he did break his arm when he fell too. A-Kon had this panel one year where everyone put their favorite fetish on their forehead, then the host would pick someone to get on stage and people would shout various puns and shit about the fetish that the person picked that would then get written on the person that was picked. Once they'd run out of room they'd start undressing so that there's more skin to write on. It was cringe though because two of the three or four fetishes that were picked were BBC and cuckolding, but when you go to a panel like that I guess it's to be expected. FWIW I put "long hair" as mine.

IDK if you count raves as "panels" but one year at a different con my friend and I were vibing there and this furry gets in front of us whose fursuit smelled like they 100% shat in it. it wasn't really crazy as much as it was gross.

I have a few more but none of them top the fetish panel one. That panel kinda made me not want to go to the more crazy 18+ panels anymore, most of the ones I (willingly) go to now are more discussions and less shouting. That and for the past few years I went to the con raves instead so I end up missing out on most of the fucked up panels.

I know it’s really tame compared to the rest of the thread, but I’ll always remember when some panelists weren’t present, so they just gave the empty time slot to some guy who had a stall advertising and taking funds for their reptile shelter or some other shit. This isn’t extreme as the ones you guys talk about but it was a lot of fun.

It was a fan panel for Doki Doki Literature Club, Three Monikas and a Buffsuki asked the crowd to pick a list of words to make a mad-libs “poem”. Like the game.
Some words listed: “Girugamesh”, “Candy corn”, “Hentai”. I remember then there was a singing portion where it’s DDLC parodies. Under the Sea was changed to DDLC. It honestly felt like a real classroom in there. I remember they gave out OC Monika stickers and the Buffsuki actually arm-wrestled a con-goer.

At Asian cons, weird shit only happens between attendees. Like creeps and weirdos. But they're never endorsed by the actual convention organisers themselves, and those that do never have significant guests.

Not all American cons are the same. Some are more industry-oriented and don't really have panels like that. Others are just big fan gatherings and have all kinds of weird shit.
