Personally, I think an up-to-date casual jfash thread would be great for this board. I remember when Safiya's lolita video came out and many people were upset at the styling of several coordinates, but the reality is the west is out of touch with what's currently trendy/popular in Japan and Japan's alt scene. Larme had a lot of influence from what high fashion designers were doing on runway shows (rise of romantic fashion), and even in lolita we see brands playing around with details (like sleeve cutouts) that were popular in the mainstream. Many gulls also have no knowledge of fashion outside lolita, so threads like this could be actually beneficial to showcase what's trendy in other fashion subcultures

I have only one piece from them because their style is bit too cutesy/costumey for me, but they're imo on the same level as FINT/an another angelus. Slightly higher than Axes Femme since they don't use as many questionable materials and at least stick to the same polyester without janky textures. It's pretty consistent from what I remember shopping in person.

I don't like anything in Liz Lisa's spring collection. I like more cutsey less larme styles. I basically bought all the pieces in this pic, not necessarily in those colors. I like gray colorways.

This argument always comes up whenever we have a daily/casual wear thread, probably because gulls have a fashion style so far removed from the norm (seriously, I've seen gulls here argue that fairy kei or gyaru is normie). Unless everyone in this thread lives in a high fashion community that's very up-to-date on new trends and regularly buys clothes form Japan, I highly doubt the brands/clothes here are what the regular person wears casually. I get that if someone is used to wearing OTT fashions on the regular this stuff seems way casual, but until this thread derives into tee shirts saying "Brunch Sundays", plain denim jackets and leggings (or business casual), I think we're still staying plenty on topic for this board

An active Jfash thread? In /my/ cgl? It's more likely than I thought

> What brands do you follow for casual/everyday jfash wear?
Liz Lisa, Ank Rouge, Swankiss, Amavel, Manon Mimie, Eatme

> What upcoming spring/summer 2020 trends are you looking forward to?
I love all the pink & lavender combos I've seen from LL & Amavel, though I'm not sure it's a current trend as such. Pic related sold out so fast, i cri evertiem ;_; Also enjoying gigantic diamantes being slapped on everything, even if they make things difficult to wash. I'm a big fan of the UK brand Sister Jane who use a lot of exaggerated pleats/draping, sheer fabrics, big collars, romantic themes in general, and I'm seeing a lot of similar details in Jfash lately

> What trends do you really hate?
Corset lacing where it has no business being. Weird peplums, especially on midi skirts. Granted these had their "moment" around 2015-2016 but they still pop up now and again. There was a dress with a tulle waist peplum in the Ank Rouge 2019 fuku which was a particularly awful example.

> What brands or styles do you wish were more popular outside of Japan?
Babydoll dresses and peter pan collars all day every day! My personal style is stuck in the 2009 Alexa Cheung fashion blogger era, and aside from the random 2017 trend of ruffles on everything, not a lot of Western fashion appeals to me at the moment. I still have no curves to speak of in my 30s so Jfash styles have always worked better for me over the years.

I'm a big fan of the romantic trend: lace, embroidery, long skirts, blouses, etc. It really suits the girly jfash aesthetic. I was wary of monochromatic outfits at first but I've come to really like them! It makes me feel better about not having 100% color matching
>> What trends do you really hate?

>> What brands or styles do you wish were more popular outside of Japan?
I guess more non-Tokyo brands. I'm sure there are plenty of nice jfash brands we just don't know about. For styles, I really like the blouse and dress (or suspender skirt) layered look that's everywhere in Japan. I also like how jfash items are so detailed! They have all these little details everywhere that really make them feel more special

I unfortunately have broad shoulders as well. Unless something is sleeveless, the shoulders tear at the armpit, even in american brands.
The only Japanese brand to fit me is Galaxxxy, since they make some oversized clothes on purpose, and plus sized clothes "fit" but since I'm not overweight are too large width wise.
>>10365726
my worry with taobao is what measurements to give them. From my expereince they assume tall = tall & fat or they don't know how to alter the outfit for my height (bust in the wrong area, garment still short) I'm unsure what to tell them to get something more accurate.
I'll check out Charlotte Russe for clothes I like that might fit me.

I really appreciate it and I know its an easy task, so I'm totally fine just being pointed in the direction of western clothing shops, I'm just tired of dressing so boring. Tall women are a minority, so clothes made to fit us are extremely basic and boring to suit all of us.
