I got into lolita in 2007, and started wearing sweet a year later. I started off being into gothic and aristocrat.

A few things. Watching Kamikaze Girls for the first time, and seeing deco-lolita coordinates posted to EGL and Daily_Lolita.

I dabble in fairy kei, gyaru and larme, but not seriously.

I love deco lolita, OTT lolita, and food prints. I dislike chocolate prints, galaxy prints, and almost all of the "carnival" prints that aren't Sugary Carnival.

I'm 25 and I don't see myself quitting anytime soon. I really like the style and I shouldn't have to stop wearing it because I'm not a teenager anymore. Lolita isn't a fashion for teenagers.

I think it is, with AP releasing Ice Cream Parlour this summer. I'm sure some more 2010s era prints will get rerelase MTOs this year too.

Favorite is foods prints, so chocolate/strawberry/etc. Least favorite is the weird OTT sweet-classic fusion with skewer headdresses and random crosses

Not really quitting, because I'll always wear it on occasion, but it's not my "main" style. I have too many favorite things to stop loving any of them

I transitioned from classic and I cannot call myself a 100% sweet lolita, my style varies depending on the mood and occasion. I think I've been into sweet for 3 years.
>What got you into sweet?
Prints, mostly cat prints and other cute animal prints. I guess the popularity of taobao and that point of time when Angelic pretty increased their stock made a lot of cute prints available to me.

Yes, I wear otome and a sort of dark mori.
>Favorite/Least favorite sweet trend?
Favourite - bear ears! Least favourite - high waists, waists across the boobs and sack dresses.

>Do you see yourself ever quitting sweet lolita? Why or why not?
Maybe. First reason is about myself, an average life span of my hobby/interest is 7 years and after that I move on, I do not stick to the same things forever.
Second reason is the amount of time I need to dress myself in sweet lolita (in comparison to classic, for example). I'm not young and pretty, I cannot just slap a dress and a headbow on and look decent.
Anyway, I prefer to enjoy things while they are enjoyable.

A lot of people talk about the differences between old school, 2010 and modern sweet.

What do you consider to be the main traits of those styles, and what years do they begin/end? what differs a modern sweet coord from a 2010 sweet coord?

I've been interested in sweet long before I began wearing the fashion. I've been wearing it for 8 years.

Mostly colors and cute themes.

I've dabbled in classic and gothic. Gothic isn't for me, but I appreciate the hell out of it. I like classic and I look great in it, but It doesn't give me the same level of joy. I also wear a bit of fairy kei/spank!.

Very muted colors. Crosses. While I like toy prints, I'm not fond of baby themes. I draw the line after Toy Parade. I'm sure to the Japanese, it's very cute. We're over here dealing with kinksters and that can just go.

Probably not. Though I am getting older. I will probably have a few years of enjoying super ott pastel rainbow vomit, and then let go of those prints that aren't my absolute favorite. Otherwise, I can stick with chocolate and sky/space prints. I will likely start working more classic into my wardrobe at some stage.

I'm not sure if it will come back as hard as it had, but there is a general nostalgia for it. I still wear it from time to time.

>Typically in solids or gingham. Very rarely involves a special print.

I’ve always been a sweet since I started wearing lolita, which was about 5 1/5 years ago.
>What got you into sweet?
Probably because it was the first kind of lolita I came across (as is for most people), but I’ve always been a sucker for light colors and pastels. The cutesy princess aesthetic hit the nail on the head for me.
>Do you wear any other substyles or J-fashions?
Very rarely, but I do bust out some nanchatte. As for substyles, I’ve tried to wear gothic or classic, but there’s always a sweet twist to it. Eg, a Holy Lantern coord but in lavender or a mature print in pink.

Sashes! I’ll probably always wear sashes no matter how out of style they are. That and veils. As for least favorite, its that stupid as ankle socks over tights trend that’s been spreading like wildfire lately. Reminds me of the wrist cuffs on ankles trend that was god awful too.

Nope. Like I said before, I’m always attracted to lighter colors and princess-y styles. I’m more so seeing myself branching off into other styles and have a few gothic and classic coords, but I’ll never stop being sweet.

I hope so, but truly I don’t think it’s ever going to come back in full force and even if it does, it won’t last as long. If anything, it’ll probably be a watered down version of it. I don’t think it’ll ever go back to it’s former glory. I hope the community proves me wrong though.

I used to dress in a more general punk-ish jfash style, and dabbled a bit into larme when it came along. But I transitioned into being a full-time sweet lolita

2010 OTT is my favorite. I really don’t like the borderline-classic sweet trend that went on a few years ago.

I started off a few years ago dabbling in sweet but felt like an ageplayer and started wearing classic sweet and classic instead. Then I realized about a year ago that what I didn’t like was modern sweet and that 2010 sweet was my jam! I’ve been wearing 2010 era sweet ever since and sold all my classic stuff.

I’ve got a plain black dress and a couple Gothic accessories I save for the one or two obligatory Halloween meet every year. But that’s it, the rest of the year I’m sweet

Favorite sweet trend is novelty purses shaped like animals or perfume bottles, etc. Least favorite is basically everything the anon above listed for modern sweet: flowy chiffon, loose cuts, & high waists, that whole general aesthetic. I feel creepy in modern sweet, it feels more like a kid playing princess dress up than 2010 sweet does, which to me feels more like an intentional pastel explosion.

I see myself quitting lolita in general once I have children. Like someone else said, my hobbies tend to last about five years or so. I’ll have to stop wearing it while I’m pregnant and I don’t really see myself getting back into it after not wearing it for a few years due to having a couple children

Most of my dislikes were mentioned already. Chiffon, high waists, overlays, “classic-sweet” with crosses, that era where AP put gold trim on everything, socks over tights, navy x pastel colourways

i'm still a newbie, i've been actually wearing lolita without looking like shit for like 8 months, but i wear mostly ap. i've been admiring the fashion since about 2012 though. i'm still in the process of finding my niche, i'm also interested in jetj-type classic, gothic, and old school, but i started off being into 2010-2014 sweet and hime (don't like hime anymore).

favorite: food, chocolate, and carousel prints. i also like silhouette or screen prints (angelic garden, puppet circus, etc). i honestly hate crosses on everything. i also don't really care for the airy fairy dainty chiffon type thing AP's been doing for the past couple years, mostly. i do like airier blouses though. and i know it's a meme but i don't really like poly releases
