One thing our community does well is train people not to buy eBay lace monsters or from milan00, but I've been seeing a ton of noobs lately who think their liz lisa, amavel, axes femme, etc is a real lolita dress and they need to be trained better. I suppose it's because from a photo it's hard to see that the quality and details aren't there, and the cuts are wrong and too short, and the fabric is worse than bodyline. In the minority here but I actually think this isn't too bad for a loliable. It does need a fancier underskirt, it's short enough I think there ought to be another two more tiers of lace/ruffles after the bottom of the skirt. The jsk straps are too wide, too, but probably works okay, the dress is light enough that it'd blend into the blouse instead of sticking out like a weird detail.

I think there's a difference between noobs just running around screaming that "cute girly"/any jfash brands should be lolita, vs someone who picks out something carefully and it does actually look loliable.

But honestly if I could advise this person I'd say pick a better fitted dress? That bust cut and the way the dress bulges on the right really seems to emphasise her wobbly bits.

When people try to talk me into lowering the prices on what I'm selling, even though the price I'm asking for is reasonable.
I recently had someone tell me that I should knock the price down for an item I was selling because theirs took FOREVER to sell and no one was gonna pay the price I was asking for .
They were weirdly aggressive about convincing me, but looking back I'm now under the impression they were just trying to get me to knock the price down super low just so they could buy it for themselves. Shit was weird.
Ended up selling it for the price I was asking for so that was nice at least.

An example of what annoys me the most is people selling lucky pack dresses, with the headbow only. Calling it a set, when the original set includes a blouse, bag, socks etc

imo when a set officially includes much more than the dress and matching headbow, you shouldn't advertise it as a set when you're only offering those two.

its come to the point of other sellers having to add FULL SET to their listings cause so many people claim set when they should just list jsk/op with headbow

People asking me “is this really the maximum measurements this dress can stretch to???” when I post things on LM. First off, how am I even supposed to know? I’m not big enough myself to stretch it to anywhere near max, and measuring it while it is flat and stretched is both difficult and seems like it might be unreliable - like it might technically stretch that far, but it could cause all sorts of fit issues I’m not aware of, or ride up in a weird way, or the buttons might gape or something? I don’t know, I’m not a tailor. Am I supposed to try it on myself and stuff a pillow under it? Secondly, are you even listening to yourself? If you have to even ask that question it’s going to look bad, pretty much guaranteed

Someone once asked me if a skirt I was selling could stretch to 130 cm. The Lolibrary link was right there in the listing and said 90.

Holy fuck. A 90cm waist is huge but I can’t visualize the land whale that needs 130cm at the waist.

Oof yeah or when I list the range and they send me a message asking if it can go 15 cm beyond that. Like no. That was the point of listing the range. If it could stretch that far I would have made the range say it went that far

I hate when sellers on LM don’t bother putting any kind of measurements on the listing , at least put the link to lolibrary , especially on a piece that’s not common like a print or something .

For example cutsews or cardigans , I don’t know the name of brand blouses :c

Dream Holic wigs are shit tier. I regret buying two after finally caving to the hype. Worst wigs I ever owned. Worse than amazon.

This used to be a Japanese thing, due to the lack of space so they would hang their school uniform on the wall so that they don’t get wrinkled. Eventually it turned into a cultural thing, then lolitas from other countries started copying that but more for display reason.

RPers IRL dude

I have 2 cute bags that I hang on my wall, that I rarely use. A rabbit and a heart. literally every other fashion item I own is stored in a normal fucking way. I do have a dressform that I'll keep a dress on, but usually just when I'm planning outfits. Partner thinks this is cute, but he doesn't wear the clothes. "Would you hang your favorite t-shirts on the wall because you like the design?" got the point across.

This, I've bought shit that hasn't fit me before and every time I just try it on, realize it doesn't fit, sigh, and resell it.

When you buy something that says it should fit and it doesn't / has inaccurate measurements tho

That shit feels bad.

My dream dress ended up being like 10 cm too big in the chest even though I was smack in the middle the official measurements listed. Flat is not always justice.

My comm holds an annual newbie meet and there are always at least 1-2 furries who think wearing a skirt, any skirt, makes them lolita. There are usually a few promising newbs too so I think the meets are still worth it but oof, I always feel so bad for the organizers. Where do these people come from??

Maybe in future you should make it clear what you are looking for into wigs.

For me Dreamholic was almost the best wig seller I've ever encountered. I like their styles, colours and especially that they are more natural looking. I can't stand wigs who are so voluminous that I could be a model from the 60s.

Only downside was that their wig caps are huge. Also the weird issues with the storenvy seller who disappeared suddenly after I ordered there...

You see, this is a matter of taste. You should observe your comm members and ask where they got their wigs, if you like them. That's how I learned to stay away from Lockshop.

I wasn't the one asking for wig recommendations. I had bought a wig from Dream Holic and after finding out how horrible it is, I started to hate people who'd always recommend it to others. It feels like a scam. Dream Holic stock images look beautiful but the real thing is very plastic-y and thin.

I swear by Prisila hair pieces and wigs now. I will never go back go any other wig. I much rather spend money on something that's actually made well.
