Buying and wearing Bodyline is fine, but you need to be careful what you buy since they make likewise decent wearable pieces and ita crap. Follow >>10332696 advice and ask someone more experienced in your com, who maybe even knows the BL pieces.

>Shoes
Are fine although not every model goes with every jsk/substyle

>Socks
They used to have a somewhat decent selection of various legwear, but currently it's pretty void of stuff usable for lolita. Still waiting for a socks restock/section revive.

>Petti
BL used to have 2-3 pettis that were ok for average poof, but usually people go for shops like Aurora & Ariel on taobao, MeLikesTea, BunnyHouse, etc...

>Blouse
Can heavily depend. Their blouses are clear hit & miss for me. Aside from 2-3 short sleeves blouses they have restocked recently, there is not much to get at the moment imo.

classic sweet looks more like classic, but with sweet themes/motifs. a lot of baby and innocent world prints fall into that category. sweet classic to me has a more storybook quality than a princess one. a lot of it has to do with the colorways too. ivory or brown or a blush and other natural colorways give off more of that vibe than standard sweet white or black and really standard pastels.

Cut. With small, sharp scissors (there's some sold for embroidery). This will get you as close to the edge of the collar as possible.

Then go back with a pair of pointy tweezers. There will be jagged bits left over, sometimes you can pull the "back" of the lace out entirely, cut them off and pull them out between the seams. If not, get as much as you can, then use something pointy (either the pointy tweezers, the sharp scissors, or a toothpick, whichever fits) to push whatever you can't pull out back into the collar so that all the jagged bits are entirely inside the collar.

The "diets don't work" mentality is 100% because most extremely overweight people don't realise (or are in denial) that they need to make huge lifestyle changes that are permanent instead of a temporary "diet." They try out fad diets and yo-yo with their weight and never see lasting change so they get bitter.

I let myself have that mentality for years and then when I took ownership of my health I have started slowly losing the weight and can still occasionally enjoy a treat with my friends without being worried I will "ruin" my diet.

You don't get fat overnight, you won't get your dream body overnight either.

Where are you located? If you're in the US, you can pick up priority mail boxes/envelopes at the post office or buy new packaging from an office supplies store. In general, make sure your items are clean and dry. If it's fragile, use bubble wrap. Choose sturdy packaging materials.

You can't print a shipping label off LM; it's a platform for recording transactions and feedback. Ask for tracking when you purchase your shipping label at the post office (or through Paypal for certain countries).

>> No.10333324

>>10333295
I always use recycled prime envelopes and tape the hell out of them, then ship priority. They're very sturdy. It's a good idea to wrap the item in a plastic bag before putting it inside the envelope too. You ship at the post office, LM is just a way to connect sellers to buyers and they have nothing to do with the actual shipping process. Use paypal for tracking and the paper trail.

In that case you'll be fine. Youtubers who only wear the fashion for videos are going to dress more costumey. For a daily Lolita outfit all it takes is putting on the clothes like you would with a normie outfit. If you've already got your coord ready it shouldn't take any longer. Makeup and hair really don't have to be over the top or time consuming. With a daily coord I usually just put on a little eye makeup, and depending on your hairstyle brushing it and putting in clips/headdresses or a beret doesn't take more than a few minutes.
For some reason there's this idea going around that lolita takes forever to get ready in but imo that's bullshit.

Hair and makeup. Coord beforehand.

Hair and makeup is what will take the longest, and this is stuff that depends on your skill level/what you're trying to do. There's some makeup shop girls who can do a full face in 20 mins complete with contour and falsies, and then there's the noobs who can't even put on eyeliner without messing it up and needing to clean it all off and start over a few times.

Practice your makeup/hair skills before the meet, and choose something that you can do easily. If you can't french braid or updo, chose to do a simple ponytail with a bow clip instead, or something. This isn't even lolita, this applies to getting dressed for prom, weddings, first day of work, *anything*.

As for coording. Maintain a coherent wardrobe and you don't have to run around looking for something to wear. If you can't easily pull out a simple coord then maybe it's time to rethink your wardrobe.

Actually pulling on clothes will take you like 5-10 mins, if it's just lolita clothes. The waist ties unbutton, so you can mark the spot with a clothes peg, unbutton, tie the bow, then rebutton. Or just find a friendly lolita to help tie them for you.

sorry to be that guy, but it depends.

If you only wear sweet you can get away with just one cupcake or bell shaped one probably. If you wear classic then you'll probably need a bell shaped and an A line, and different lengths if someo fo your dresses are substantially longer than others.

If you wear very heavy dresses like velvet or thick wool then you'll want a hoop one, plus a petti for layering over it so it looks smooth.

I've never use an adjustable petti and frankly it seems like too much trouble to fuck around with so I haven't bothered. I'm wary of any "quick easy one-size-fits-all" fixes anyway so I've steered clear

Can't go wrong with a melikestea rose voile petticoat if you are stuck and have no idea. the intuition for pettis comes quickly when you start seeing yourself in pictures so just accept you'll probably get more than one eventually

That depends on what otome is to you. It isn't really a style on its own outside the west, people in Japan consider it still lolita. (Although I've seen some japanese girls on instagram use the tag too.)
If you're going for more of a sweet look, Emily Temple Cute is the way to go, if you're going for more mature, Jane Marple.
Some Taobao brands like Crucis have also brought out some stuff, especially with big prints and high waisted cuts. Those are at least worth looking at for styling ideas, imo.

Being a non-sweet(or classic) lolita is so hard. I mainly like old school goth and while finding main pieces on LM is okay-ish, all other stuff is difficult af. There seem to be hundreds of pink/printed tights, socks etc but solid white or black ones are nearly impossible to find. Same for simple blouses, everything is by AP and has some kind of cutesy/colourful detail added that makes it impossible for me to use.

the excuse that you can only buy at joanns is weak considering the internet. kona is probably okay, but generally if you're worried, chances are it's not a good fabric. most fabrics that are frowned upon are because they're cheap. quilting cotton and broadcloth have a lot of visual weave that looks cheap and they are fairly see-through. just do more research on what lolita is made from and acceptable alternatives to that. but honestly you might have to make something to see it's bad.

You seem like a newbie (no shade, it's the stupid question thread after all).

I'd do kona cotton for the cheapness to practice with, not to make The Perfect Dress(tm) out of, just treat it like a learning expense while you figure out how to sew a dress. Another cheap option is to go thrifting for bedsheets. Your first few things are likely to suck anyway, better not to throw too much expensive fabric at it.

Repeat: It does look cheap but is fine to practice with

As for the proper type of fabric, depends:
- jsks and dresses are usually twill (with mild sateen finish if you can find it)
- blouses poplin or lawn (if you want to stick with cotton)
- if you don't like ironing, polyester [blend]
- If you're going for modern lolita look or you need the fabric to drape softly around your shape, polyester, or go straight for chiffon.
- Japanese fabricmakers quite often make cutesy fabric intended to overlap with lolita, it's generally quilting fabric though. You're not likely to find them at Joann's, which is why people generally recommend going online.
- not including specialty effects like velvet dresses, lace fabric, sheer layers, flocked, etc.

>I was ignored and avoided, I felt treated like Egashira san. (( a Japanese comedian whose performances are considered shocking and vulgar by the Japanese population))
>I felt like I lost without even starting anything. I understand why men don't particulary like lolita, but I didn't think it was bad at that point.

>It can't be helped. This time, I erase every mention of wearing lolita. In short, I add another picture of myself, and play the game of the nurse Aoki Misako.
>In the self-introduction column, I erase the sentence where I say I'm a Lolita, and replace it with saying I'm a nurse.

>Then this time, there was a considerable reaction. Upon seeing this I was laughing by myself. After all, they are both the same person.

There's cheap China made ones online but they're very uncomfortable, don't work if you have big tits and can leave bruises if you're not careful. Binding daily is also really bad for your breast shape so be careful not to do it too often.

Its like beginning of XX erotic, not modern one.
I prefer to call it boudoir lolita. Think of lace, white colour and lingerie, like bloomers, camisoles and corsets. It shouldn't be slutty or sexy, it should be like seeing something private and very secret.

You can also go with more loose lolita with shorter skirts with intricate details like garters but be careful to not make it thot-kei. Your body should be mostly covered no matter what.

No. That’s not ero lolita. This is one of the reasons that ero is so often done badly. Ero should still look like lolita, and keep to the silhouette, but things like material choices, going blouseless, such as pvc, leather, corsets, cage skirts, shorter than normal skirts, are all options. There are some excellent GLB and KERA mag era snaps that have the rare good ero shot. There’s a wonderful Meta jsk in pvc with a chiffon skirt that is the embodiment of a good example of ero lolita.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

If you're looking to build a wardrobe, fyeahlolita has a post about building a lolita wardrobe. Disregard all of the numbers, they're bullshit. Pay attention to the colour schemes, they're a bit outdated (sweet has wandered over into jewel tones now) but they still work pretty well, especially with the amount of secondhand available.

If you're looking to put together a coordinate, and fast, just wear a set from a decent brand. Doesn't matter if it's Meta or AP, make sure you fit into the clothes and it will look good, the designer designed it to look good.

If you meant how to look at coords and judge which ones are good/bad, which dresses are good/bad -- lurk and look at everything, see which items are praised more and why. Use a pinterest board, set it to private and make notes when you save photos -- what was good about the dress, what was bad, what do other people like about it, what do you like about it. And don't rush. Lolita has too much variety, you need to see a lot of photos before you come across lace dresses (for eg), it'll take a while before you see enough photos to realise the common points between the good ones and the bad ones.

For a proper corset, so with metal boning rather than flimsy plastic stuff, you don’t go off your chest size at all. You go off your waist measurement then size down by preferably 3-4 inches. But it depends on where you are looking at. For an actual corset rather than a corset-like top, you never go bigger or on your measurements or it will be far too big.

I think it's just the evolution of the style and trends, for example we now have harnesses which might be incorporated into something considered an ero coord. Some could consider that ita or not lolita at all. It's clearly a bit of a blanket term that inspires debate throughout it's many iterations.

What's the difference between hospitality doll and a sexualized costume? Context. Quality of the garments. But it's also subjective.

not the anon you replied to, but I still did a double take as well.

Most coats will be insulated, and most buildings are heated for winter. So either the coat-dress will be too warm for heated buildings/non-winter climates, or it will be too cold once they step out of a heated building and back into the cold.

Plus if you go to a meet up and girls recognise the brand you end up having to awkwardly explain how you're naked underneath and that you fully expected to sit there trying to look classy while sweltering to death in your insulated coat. Either that you'll need them to hold the tea party outdoors in the cold so you don't die overheating because you can't take your coat off.

Either that or you'll need to buy yet another lolita coat to go over your lolita coat that you're wearing as a dress.

It's kind of a highly impractical question that implies the person asking didn't really use their brains to think through the consequences properly, I guess.

There's a reason most of egl ignores her -- she's not big, she doesn't have her own brand the way Mana does (and, even with Moitie being gothic, there's at least other brands who are also gothic, thus making gothic lolita a "real" substyle with its own market segment to back up gothic lolita as a real substyle).

Kana Moon's style is just... her style. It's like saying you like to dress like, (for example) Beyonce therefore beyonce-kei is a totally valid substyle because she's been featured in some magazine or another.

I'm tempted to point out that if you can't parse a properly worded sentence then who knows what else you've misunderstood in life. But I'll try to reword my comment again for you:

"even in egl's heyday, Kana Moon was never acknowledged as anything. She was simply an outlier in terms of lolita fashion, whatever she was, she stood there by herself. Newbies were steered away from her as she's not really representative of lolita style either. I'm not basing this on conjecture, I'm old enough to remember when the GLB magazines (Japanese and, later, English) with Kana Moon in them came out, 2006 isn't that long ago for some of us.

As for the ongoing argument you're having about ero lolita, I haven't and don't intend to take any sides. I simply wanted to point out Kana Moon is a bad example to bring up."

She's contributed so many too-small clothes patterns to GLB, if she were a valid substyle you'd think she'd have her own fashion label by now. But nope, she's just.... not really someone you should reference. At all.
