decided to be the test bitch for some ears someone pointed out in one of the previous threads, so I got a $25 pair of these ears.
There's definitely a market for dog ears and not many people do them.

Who are those from? I'm torn between getting puppy ears or bunny ears, so I'm interested to hear how these turn out. Please post a review when you get them!
Honestly, I really wish I could afford to buy ears from different makers just to see how different makers do things, and to create my own ranking/tiers I guess. I've been entering every giveaway on Instagram that I can find just to hopefully collect as many ears as possible.

I'm thinking about throwing money around and trying different types of dog ears but not many stores have them. its around a 9 week wait for these.

My personal tier list is similar to the one in OP except for a few stores. I bought a KittenandCutie set and resold them almost immediately because I didn't like the quality. I own 2 pairs of Lovelyfurr ears that I'm on the fence about keeping or trading because I don't like how stiff they are but love the shape and color.

>>10324538
I own a pair of RaspberryNeko MTO ears and I'd say they're good quality for the price. I waited about 7 weeks for mine (about a 6-week wait + 1-week shipping).
There are shops that do canine shapes more often than others (Lovelyfurr, KittenTherapyShop, Aukami, etc.), so you should keep an eye on them. Hosh has also announced corgi ears for her next release and last week's SR ears were canines too.

i got a couple pairs of their mto puppy ears and my opinion is that they’re worth the $25 and good for the price. nowhere near hosh or ac quality obviously, but they’re sturdy and have clean edges. wired all the way through so you can adjust the bends. the trimming and edges can be a tiny bit uneven on some areas. I wouldn’t pay over $40 for them because of the lack of detail, but puppy ears are folded anyways so you don’t see much of the inners. they’re also nice for using as a base if you want to airbrush your own shading onto them.

The shops that align closest with the concept of burando (good quality, name recognition, etc.) are Hosh and AC but your chances of getting ears from them is pretty slim since there’s hundreds of people vying for the same 10 ears each release.

>>10324803
None of the photos thus far are photos from mid-to-top tier shops. It also has to do with personal preference (for example, I like natural ears styled simply, others like more bright colored or ornate ears) and interest in the subject matter. I’m not a lolita anymore so I don’t get the hype around many new releases anymore like that AATP demon cat print (imo it looks like it was made by a Taobao shop), but a lot of people seem to like it.

Here’s the difference though: Jeffree clearly made his own money through having his own makeup brand. Hime’s source of income is questionable.
Even if she had a high-paying day job+her Patreon income (~$20k USD, assuming every single person is subscribed to her highest tier), that’s still not enough or barely enough to maintain her lifestyle of traveling abroad regularly, constantly buying new cosplays and luxury goods, and dropping tons of cash on every auction after deducting taxes, living expense, etc. Even people I know who have pretty high salaries ($160k+ USD after taxes) don’t live like Hime does.

pretty sure she just lives at home like most unmarried singaporeans and has steady income from patreon. pretty simple, it’s easy to afford luxuries when you don’t need to take care of living expenses. you can also pay more than the highest tier on patreon if you want, she might have some dedicated fans.

>> No.10327253

>>10327239
Anon, what? she has 280 patreons, and her highest tier is $45 for nudes (which most people are likely subbed for, since none of the other tiers include nudes). That's well over 20k a year; assuming all highest tier patreons, she'd be making around $12600 monthly before taxes, plus her OnlyFans which is another 2k a month. Even after taxes she'd be making over $12k a month. That's definitely enough to afford luxuries and travel, and she wouldn't even need a normal day job. She's also Singaporean, where it's typical to live with your parents until you get married, so her living expenses are little to none (and even if she did have living expenses, a couple can live pretty comfortably on 4000 SGD a month, which is around $3k).

whats the purpose of using fur when she is going to shave all the way down...

>> No.10348166

I want to try and get my first pair of ears, I’ve been wanting one for a while now but haven’t felt like the price is worth. Should I wait to attempt to buy from hoshikins/AC? I want a nice pair and money isn’t a concern for me. Are the releases as bad as an AP bloodbath?

>> No.10348173

>>10348166
Honestly it's worse than an AP bloodbath because there's less stock. I'd say that if mid tier ear makers make things in your style then go for them as your first purchase. namybie mass make them but the quality is alright for the price so it's easy to snag a good pair, but if may feel less special. Lovelyfurr and auralight luxuires have less stock but are worth the money and stress of refreshing the site like mad during release.

Another first time buyer tip is to think about if you will really like the shape and size of the ears on you - lots people on depop say that the ears they have look too big on them or they didn't 'connect' with them. I'm not a furry or petplayer but I do understand that some ears can look a bit wrong on your head even if they are good quality or nice looking ears.

Hoshiikins releases more often but the stock sells out way faster than AP, it's not even comparable. I know people who consistently get releases and SR, and their checkout times are insane, usually under 10 seconds to submit payment and < 30 seconds for the whole transaction to process.

It depends on when the ears were made and how they were taken care of. imo most ‘17 and older pairs look hideous, early ‘18 pairs are meh and vary severely based on how they were taken care of, and late ‘18 pairs and newer mostly look good unless the owner was particularly rough with them.

the point is that she’ll never actually have a release two months in a row, and people who think she will are kidding themselves. half the feb sr were shit too, she skipped one week (or was it two?) because of the release in jan and then release a week of toebeans. 60% chance she’ll be pushing back the march release imo.

As someone who provides a similar commissions service online but not the same type, i can tell you that its not about your following at all. Its about your attitude. LK makes enough money to the point where she can afford to ignore certain offers and messages. If youre a customer who has a bad attitude, then of course shes gonna reply less often or not at all, hoping you will go away because she can afford to not continue business with you.

But if youre a repeat customer with a great and friendly attitude to the point where she recognizes your username or knows your paypal email address by heart, then of course she is going to reply more often and care about the customer service she provides to you.

But based on your post, intonation, and sense of entitlement, >>10357650 youre definitely one of those passive aggressive cunts that she doesnt want to do business with anymore.
I certainly wouldnt do any with you, especially at the amount i make per month. LK obviously makes BANK, so i can definitely see why she sees your nagging and messages annoying to reply to. Chill the fuck out.

Anon, are you an idiot? LK makes barely any money from ears, she just opens preorders for quick cash if someones doing a Hosh under the table auction that she wants to bid on. She doesn't even sell enough to maintain a storefront and is infamous for never sending out orders unless you open claims or call her out publicly. It's not the first and it's not the last time that shes done this.

I've consistently waited 3+ months for her to complete an item, only asking for a generic update once or twice after her estimated "4-5 weeks" have passed. She will not reply because she makes people wait as long as possible if she doesn't feel like making ears. Stop being autistic enough to project yourself onto her. This is someone who's literally known for not replying and not sending out products for up to half a year, getting called out multiple times by people in the community.
