Sex can be meaningful. I think too many people are focused on sex as hedonistic pleasure. Eventually when I do it consensually for the first time (csa is rough and traumatic so I've been very wary to give myself to anyone sexually) I want it to mean something and be a representation of my feelings and trust in another person. That though for me wouldn't change whether it was once or a dozen different people. I would only ever go that far with someone I felt a deep connection to or mutual feelings with. It took me months to even tell my crush I thought they were cute or halfway hold hands with them because I'm such a weirdo but it means a lot to have those little intimate moments hoepfully lead up to for me at least is peak trust and intimacy. Maybe that's why demisexual became a tumblr term and there is some merit to it assuming a big group of people only see sex as a possibility with an emotional connection and another big group of more casual sex havers. Neither is neccesarily bad and people can always do what works for them.

But honestly any touching of others without permission is generally seen as inappropriate. Even hugs are usually given through nonverbal consent lile opening ones arms or just by asking verbally as well. If a stranger or even someone I know hugged me without some form of asking for it verbally or otherwise I'd be confused and uncomfortable and feel like that person was being weird, especially with the stranger.
