Normal people aren't hoverhanding. Hugs are fine and still happen. You just have to get permission before you touch a stranger. I know that's hard to process.

Maybe my brain is caved in, but I recall everyone already asking first before hugs back before this “cosplay is not consent” stuff started. Maybe the cons I went to were just unicorns. That said, most of the time CiNC is preached to the choir rather than to the creeps who will actually touch people inappropriately. It gets annoying to hear all the time when I knew it before it was ever even said.
