It's kinda hard to get traction on any of the subreddits for any of the alt, kawaii, jfashion/cfashion stuff. There's already a taobao subreddit and a handful of kawaii fashion subs that's pretty dead, the only ones that're actually hopping are the subs talking about replicas, and not even jfash replicas at that, normie replicas.

You'd probably have more traction with a tumblr blog, or try an amino group (that's where the younger users seem to have gone). Anything else I think you'd need to advertise pretty often just to get the word out.

Anyone work with Pruany? I paid my items the same day 12/16 and nothing had changed, not even the price difference which I anticipate will happen. I sent an email but no response. It doesn't look like there are service delays because the feed they have shows others paying and receiving.

The short mini is 69.80 yuan (almost 10 usd) + 8 yuan domestic shipping. It might workout cheaper through a Chinese SS, they could ship it with other methods or as a small package. Well.. that's the first and last time I order from Bobon21. I'm glad Superbuy send you photos as part of the service - even the agent left a note saying "this is nothing like the photo, we recommend returning." Has anyone had much success with Taobao returns before? Bobon21 are claiming there's no quality issues and it's supposed to be like that (surejan.gif) but they'll accept the return if I pay shipping, which is fine, I'd rather take the small financial hit than be stuck with the coat. Tried to buy a set of pic related from a K-beauty site only to receive a bunch of ugly beige ones. Turns out Etude House changed their design and the K-beauty resellers haven't bothered to change their stock photos. Smh.

Weight question:

My SS seems to have been overstating the shipping weight of the packages I have. For example they say the chargeable weight is 39.30kg, but the tracking says it's 37.5kg.

Is this normal? That chargeable weight is a different thing from actual weight?

I am not sure about this one because my SS has been very reliable and issue free and I have been using them since 2013 so I am hesitant to dig deeper into it

Glad to see I'm not the only one having issues with taobao. Placed an order for two items in late November, shipped December 4th, rejected by customs on the 9th, went back a forth a few times and tracking currently shows 'Exported directly sealed'. My SS hasn't seen the package since it shipped early December and I haven't seen an update since the 16th. Should I just accept the package as lost and re-order the items? It was just a plain sweater and a ring, so nothing major, but they're gifts for a friend.

A lot of these are more like people closing their hobby etsy. Some of the more serious stores (the ones with ten aliwangwang CS for you to talk to) will remain open. Others only take off for one week, maybe as little as 3 days, not a whole month.

Though, it's a bit of a crapshot as the post service itself always seems to get clogged up, so even if your store is super professional it's likely your SS will tell you it's not worth it to order for the entire month because who knows where your parcel will end up.

Besides which, CNY is a far more involved holiday than Christmas. There's the whole "new year, new look" thing, which is what causes the mail clog-up because everybody is busy buying new clothes, new toys, new furniture or whatever to give their selves/home/pets/cars/etc a makeover. Then the celebration itself goes on for 15 days with a specific activity for each designated day. If you're fairly modern/lazy you could forego them all, if your parents are fairly traditional though, you'd be stuck doing them all.

Just got back from China and it wasn't bad there at all. Taobao, right?

First, find the product with regular search rather than image search. You can copy the listing title into the search bar, or use google translate or something.

When you hover your mouse over one of the search results, orange bars pop up on the bottom of the image. One says "find the same", the other is "find similar".

Self explanatory at this point, "Find the same" will try and find "same" product from different sellers. "find similar" will try and find "similar" products. Neither of them are 100% foolproof (it's only computer AI after all, just look at facebook's shitty algorithm) -- but it's the closest thing to what you're asking.

Most of China returned to work on February 10 BUT they would need to go through their own backlog first and international mail isn't that high of priority unless you paid for express shipping and some bloke unearths your buried package. Actually, fuck that. It seems every package from Asia is getting slowed down in the postal system, and i don't live anywhere near Asia. I got hit with a customs fee on my taobao order that was already in my country when the coronavirus thing got announced on mass media. (same SS, same shipping type) Then they took 2 weeks to deliver it and every other package i had coming in from Asia.

According to their website they returned to work on the 12th. I've been waiting on "order confirmation" for 3 days now, and I'm just antsy as I'm really hoping to get my items in time for an event in a few months.
