They actually still do them, but I think it's only the physical stores that do it now. You could get a walk-in SS, but of course that will bump up the cost, so you kind of have to weigh if you want to take that chance. iirc it'll most likely be whatever they have a lot of surplus of this year (previous years an SS was able to guess what print was inside but not able to choose the colour)

If it's photobucket there's an add-on that you can install on chrome to get the pictures to show up.

A lot of photos are just plain gone though, if they're hosted on something that no longer exists, or owners delete them when they move on, or accounts get deleted or whatever.

Their lucky packs are on par with other brands. Normally for the price of a main piece you get a random main piece, blouse and some few random accessories.

The only downside is most of them are blind LPs of stuff they didn't sell. They do make some effort to try and match things but there's only so much you can do with a limited pool of things, so prepare yourself that what comes in the mail might need a few extra items before you can wear them out.

Their oddments pack are a whole different thing altogether, so if you go looking for unboxing, make a note whether it's a lucky pack or an oddment pack.

Adding to this, a good rule of blind lucky packs is to look at JSKs that didn’t sell well overall, as in, it seems like nobody bought it so they probably have a good amount of stock left, not just a few straggler pieces that they’ll price drop later. Obviously this isn’t foolproof but you can usually guess which two or three dresses might show up and if you’d want them.

Yes. That's why you should make a distinction.

Oddments pack is full of damaged or otherwise compromised items, some of the damages will be slight, some are even undamaged -- but I've also received shaky old shoes, dresses with large messy stitching, holes in things, customer returns, dresses missing a detachable, detachable without the dress, etc. Things they can't sell. So they usually pack a lot more items, especially if you're willing to take the 80k yen box.

Lucky pack will have less items, but they are all perfectly fine, grade A, passed-quality-control items that IW somehow has a surplus of, so usually the lucky packs won't have as many items in them as the oddments packs.

Totally agree. This is the first and the last Swankiss LP I got. Swankiss doesn't seem to be worth it anymore and the quality is nowhere near the pricepoint, even for an LP.

The flaws on oddments are usually not too bad and IW try to mark them as much as possible.
One thing about oddment packs is although you do get a large amount of items at once, it's not always cohesive and you'll inevitably want to sell a few items. It's not a big deal, since you can sell them for fairly cheap and recoup your costs. You might also end up buying other items in order to match items in the pack, if you don't already have an established wardrobe.

I got an 80k pack a long time ago and it was full of Rozen items. I only kept a couple things but what I've sold was pretty close to the 80k spent.

I got a Lodispotto LP one time and it was pretty cute. The only downside was the coat was similar to what I already had so I had to sell it, but I wore the other items as work clothes for a long time before getting rid of them. If you're interested they have listed the item descriptions (although they usually do picture reveals soon enough).

It's Japan, if a customer returns something and the store actually accepts it, you can be sure there's something wrong with the item they returned, because otherwise the store won't accept it. The US's attitude of returning things is pretty much a US thing, not worldwide.

With regards to the B-goods oddments pack, it's not used items, most of them will even come with store tags on. It's literally just, compromised goods, not perfect grade A items, along with some super unpopular ugly stuff thrown in. So if you want brand new items, the oddments pack is brand new, not used at all.

As other anon says, you don't really get to choose what's inside, though. So if you're picky, you have fit problems, you don't 100% love all of IW's style (even the fugly stuff), you're better off doing secondhand. Or find a few girls with different tastes and split a box (try not to pick someone who likes the same things as you, you might end up fighting over who gets which dress).

I got the one last year and it was disappointing. Items felt like pretty cheap and nothing went together. Their sizing is not forgiving with little to no shirring in the dresses and skirts. If you’re anything above a US size S, don’t bother. Tops and cardigans you’ll probably be ok if you’re more like a s-m. Although last year they didn’t distinguish between the two sizes but I don’t plan on risking it this year.

I often go for them. They're great if you're a daily lolita looking for some comfy shit to pad out your wardrobe with. I've gotten a great bolero from one, a few dresses I never would have gone for but were actually great IRL, some nice floral hair accessories... And the things I didn't like sold decently too. I think they're good value for money.

I did get three of pic related in a big oddments pack one year, though. That was weird.

I love Swankiss and I’ve bought a few LP items 2nd hand, but she does put out some pieces of very questionable quality and I’ve never regretted foregoing the LPs or paid close to RRP for anything.

Axes Femme & Lodispotto are tempting but I’m better off saving my money than risking it on LPs this year. Will certainly be keeping an eye on the aftermarket tho, once it’s flooded with hundreds of the same coat lol

Also, I swear it's not just samples or damaged goods, I'm sure it's also leftover stock - none of the items I've ever received in these have been damaged except one jsk that had a crooked seam at the waist, and that was unnoticeable when worn.

I didn't get the Fint one in time, but I got one from their sub-brand An Another Angelus and it was wonderful. Most items were similar between all of the bags and came in several different colours. I personally wasn't a huge fan of one shirt I got and the coat, but everything else was lovely and high quality!

I looked around their website and there’s not even a way I could have found it if I was browsing, it’s not in any of the categories or announced on their main page. Does anyone know if the Amavel LP is gonna be mostly random items or a special set? I found a few unboxings from 2016/17 and it seemed to be the latter in slightly different colourways. In the past it's taken them a handful of days to a week to process orders during high traffic times like LP season- I don't know how quickly they do it these days (at one point it was really bad a few years ago, people were taking weeks to get confirmations!), but I think you keep your place in mind if they email you to say something sold out, and you can ask for a different color? Since they go through the orders manually.

At least I think that's how it used to go. Cart orders (from the JP site) would still get priority over overseas order form ones, though.

Here it is. I'm glad they double bagged it because the box was very beaten up from going through the post.
This was the Type A pack, I'm regretting not getting the Type B. I got a Lace Ribbon headdress, a Double Lace-Up dress, a Lace Shirring Hime Sleeve blouse and a postcard. It's all cohesive, which is good as I was looking to expand the gothic side of my wardrobe.

Tutuanna sock bag. Pretty simple but I wasn't expecting any colors or styles. Description was
- 3 pairs of regular socks
- 1 pair of fuzzy room socks
- 2 pairs of tights/pantyhose, one of which is guaranteed black

I just get the bag yearly to replenish my sock drawer and throw out old ones from attrition, this is optimal to me because it's so hard to buy socks in the States. My feet are 22cm.

My Amavel bag turned out to be the "dark" set. I got a black coat and a charcoal JSK and the matching black blouse, plus bordeux tartan one-piece and an ivory cardigan that matches nothing in the bag. I didn't want an all-black ensemble so I'm considering trading now with people who got the lavender set or the navy set. The best part was probably the red purse.

I got my Axes Femme bag. Online only bag, the contents are identical to this person's bag and I have to say the colors are hideous for the most part. Almost matches and the green "vintage" print skirt is stiff and super shiny. The sleeveless muted wine inner/dress is going to be a tough one to figure out how to wear.

The Axes Femme stuff doesn't look that bad. The green skirt your could probably put up for sale or trade at a swapmeet (it's a lost cause to keep it if you hate the fabric). Is the wine dress really unwearable? It looks nice in the pic, presumably you could just throw a bolero or shawl over it.

There is a YouTube video up of this same bag and the girl seemed to coordinate the colors just fine. I’ll let you know if I have a different color way though and if I want to trade when I get mine

The frills on the wine dress look scratchy. I will make an attempt to wear it though if nobody wants to make a trade or buy it off me.

The diamond print is a knit top half dress. Top half is boring dark brown but it can easily be covered with a cardigan or hair and accessories.

Oooh this is cute! I ordered the RMS LP as well and I probably won't get mine until February, but from the few contents photos I've seen they look pretty good this year. I'd be really happy with that skirt and top because they look like they'd co-ord with plenty of other things.

I think they did two "runs" of the main LP this year and while I'm not sure about the second, the first lot definitely should have shoes included. Looks to be these glittery Mary Janes which I'm happy about because I was eyeing them up in the sale section. This colour in particular is lovely!
