depends on the coord to me, I did it both ways with Dream Marine right above your post and in lolita I usually prefer the latter. And I'm hunting through my stuff for non-tucked coords and I'm actually coming up more empty than I realized

lol I'm sorry anon, I know it's ridiculous but I promise it actually is a haori, I bought it mostly for the novelty from a kimono dealer and the cut is right, here's a shot where the shape of the sleeves can be seen a little better

Depends on the blouse. If the blouse doesn't have any details in the hem (lace, ruffles, etc) it's meant to be tucked. If it has you can do either way.

Also does the blouse have back details (corset lacing, big collar, etc)? If not tuck and use skirts waist ties as details. Many coord look gorgerous from front but plain at back.

I'm looking for some advice on skirts. My waist is about 26" and I can technically wear a lot of brand skirts, but I tend to get stomachaches if fabric is pressing against my belly even a little bit. All my regular not Lolita skirts sit lower on my waist and fit loosely.

Can anyone recommend skirts by ap/baby/meta that fit a little more loosely?

I do agree with you somewhat, some prints are not my cuppa especially super busy ones. But some prints are really cute. I do prefer solids or fabrics with simple florals, ginghams, gobelin, (solid colored) textured fabrics. I'll take that over a print any day desu.

I agree with the other anon, you need a lolita-appropriate blouse (can't see much of this one, but the sleeves make it look like an office blouse). I'd also bring some of the off-white down to the bottom with either white socks or shoes. And a black bracelet or ring could help.

If you're buying fake plaid or houndstooth printed on fabric to simulate a pattern there is a good chance you're either being scammed if you bought it from a shop or making some shitty homemade stuff.

Even low quality craft store fabric doesn't simulate patterns woven into fabrics with prints on their cheapest stuff.

I have definitely seen lolitas in other threads taking "print" to mean "printed art" and pattern to mean both "printed pattern" and "woven pattern" e.g. a "non-print thread" frequently has stripes, polkadots, and florals as well as woven patterns. So if you have no knowledge of the terms other than through lolita fashion I could see why you would use the less technical/previously board-used definition.
