i've saved every single coord of pixie_late I could find - but I don't give a shit what she does in her day-to-day, her job, her relationships etc. I don't think she even wears it anymore? but her past outfits are just perfect to me, and great inspiration

The consensus in my comm is to never post people on 4chan, even if it's very positive. I don't understand how casual and naive some gulls are about it. There are so many disgusting creeps on here. Yeah they can look up pictures on instagram etc too, but they don't have to because you guys post their pictures on 4chan with ways to contact them through social media and sales platforms. I've seen people post minors on here and it's so obvious you guys never had to worry about stalkers. I never see this kind of behaviour on other boards I go to.

Yeah no shit, because other boards aren't entirely based around dressing up hobbies. Except for /fa/ and people get posted there all the time.

I get what you're saying and I don't post people on here myself because I wouldn't exactly be thrilled about someone posting a picture of me here, but it's not like /cgl/ is a uniquely terrible board.

I think people on here do it because we're grouped in with cosplay. For cosplay the eventual goals is to get good pictures. I would never re-post lolita coords on my own blog or Facebook without asking for permission, but on cgl suddenly nobody asks for permission

You must relatively new. It used to be a good thing to be posted here (barring the ita thread) since we had a lot of inspo/dump threads for good coordinates. There was even a contest between gulls that was all in good fun.

I'm smiling hard because I'm 1/6 worried about you but 5/6 completely understanding. this is a fashion and I think when you find someone who makes inspiring coords, you either follow them or save their pics. lolitas have suffered a bit with the insecurity of photo sharing sites (the photobucket betrayal, tinypic etc.), so I am all for saving public pics. it's great to have worn examples and good coording in perpetuity.

Yeah honestly I save people's pics all the time. I never even repost them, I just like to have them for inspiration and I happen to have a lot of the same people in my coordspo folder.

Having said that, I am good friends with a semi e-famous lolita and even though her coords are some of my faves I could never bring myself to save her coord photos because it seems creepy somehow. So there's definitely a line there, but I'm not sure what it is.

it might be because there's no distance between you and the person in the photos for casual admiration. if you know the lolita irl you see ~them~ and any memories you've made together, etc. it's hard to just see the coord as art when you are personally connected. that's probably why it feels creepy to you. you should still save some of the really cool ones that inspire you, though. I'm a fan of bowsbeforeboys and her OTT stuff and I swear I'd still save my fav coords by her even if we ever became friends.

Sometimes I try to avoid posting fat or questionably dressed lolitas as worn example because they might get backlashed here. Also it helps if the picture has face censored so it’s more guilt-free to post.

It's also nice to have all the coords you like in one centralised place. I don't always want to trawl through someone's insta, it's nice to have a greatest hits folder to refer to.

There are just two kinds of people postin here.
