Old thread >>10203776Post coordinates that are mostly solids and have no recognisable named prints! Some questions for discussion:>what is the most creative solid/non-print coord you have ever seen?>do you think solid main pieces lend themselves to more options when creating a coord?>Do you have a favourite colour for solid dresses? Why is it your favourite? Bonus points for posting coords with skirts!
>>10206020OP here, as for >what is the most creative solid/non-print coord you have ever seen?I am putting forward the first coordinate. I know there are printed tights, but this is still one of my favourite coords ever because of how creative it is. I love the European peasant inspiration - it reminds me of dirndl and Snow White. The use of a bright red corset is really unique and brings out the red in the legwear and the accessories and sits well with the white and baby blue. The headscarf is also a cute substitution for a bonnet and I think it works really well! Also, the embroidered leaves around the apron add such a dainty touch that makes this coordinate just perfect.
>>10206034And finally, some more questions:>do you think there have been too many printed pieces in recent years? Would you like to see a return to more simple garments?>when wearing solid clothing, do you find that it's more important to vary your textures to make the coord interesting?
>>10206035>>do you think there have been too many printed pieces in recent years? Would you like to see a return to more simple garments?there is a good mix of nonprint to print options available. the nonprint just don't get fanfare or big release announcements. if someone doesn't think there are many nonprint pieces, they aren't paying attention. >>when wearing solid clothing, do you find that it's more important to vary your textures to make the coord interesting?yes and no. texture variation happens a lot in lolita anyway without even trying, and it does help with visual interest. but i personally don't feel any pressure or need to make my coordinates "interesting" and really love simple basic coordinates on myself and others
>>10206026Who she be?
>what is the most creative solid/non-print coord you have ever seen?I love it when someone is able to make an OTT deco coordinate out of a solid dress>do you think solid main pieces lend themselves to more options when creating a coord?I do, I think print dresses are very limited, especially now as APs designs get either too busy and cluttered or too simple.>Do you have a favourite colour for solid dresses? Why is it your favourite?I love a good old pink x white color combo. >>10206035>do you think there have been too many printed pieces in recent years? Would you like to see a return to more simple garments?I'm speaking soley as an AP fan but AP does release less non-printed items and I dislike that. I regret ignoring the solid releases when I was a young baby weeb-lita. They released a lot of really cute solids that got completely ignored because everyone just wanted another Sugary Carnival>when wearing solid clothing, do you find that it's more important to vary your textures to make the coord interesting?I don't think its important but I do think its wise to make sure you don't have too much clashing going on
Maybe I have rose colored glasses on, but even when modern AP does solids it doesn't look quite "right" to me
What are the solid pieces on your wishlist and do you prioritize finding them over prints?
>>10206224This looks awful
Her coords always inspire me
>>10206451beautiful, but fanny is cheating
>>10206399idk why but I absolutely love this shot
>>10206210I love this!
>>10206224This makes me nostalgic, i miss livejournal. >>10206202I prioritize them over prints since they're harder to find than prints, since you can't just use the dress name to search for them generally. >>10206033i love pics with public transpo in them, i don't know why. >>10206025who is this????
>>10206583what dress is this??? NEED. ultimate dream dress. alas
>>10206589Technically meets the thread reqs even though right side has a printed jacket
>>10206194I can see why. The colours on the 2019 version are too vivid (especially that neon yellow), the triple use of gingham is overwhelming, the blue stripes are too busy and the bows are too big and imbalanced (needs them on the bottom tier too). Old AP, where have you gone?
>>10206202>>10206583I agree, I love oldschool dresses with no prints because there's often a focus on details such as pretty lace, puffed sleeves, ruffles, bows, collars, tiers, buttons, elastic, dress shape etc. like there is with that black dress. So beautiful!
>>10206035>>do you think there have been too many printed pieces in recent years? Would you like to see a return to more simple garments?Yes. I want to buy new solid classic pieces but brands aren't releasing them as frequently. I'm tempted by taobao but the quality isn't there.
>>10206399This looks so old somehow but the shoes give away it's recent. Weird.
Not a big fan of solids, although I still have some favs so I’ll dump some here.
>>10207029End of the dump

>>10239457This one's... iffy.
I love threads like this because so many different examples really help hilight how construction, material, accessories, styling, and color pallet are vital. Good thread.
