Idk if I should feel bad for girls having first release at this point. Original HC seems more valuable due to material, but the print itself is not that rare anymore, so I understand why people may be upset with rerelease. Probably AP did the right thing releasing Brilliant Misty Sky in new colors. Quite upsetting for those looking for original colors, but those who bought the original release didn’t lose the money.

Actually my point was about ethics behind rereleases. Everyone knows that significant part of brand piece price is its rarity. People have legit reason to be salty about CTP rerelease, because you can never tell releases apart by outer look, so they spent extra money for nothing.

Ethics? AP is not in the business of creating investment pieces that are supposed to earn the owners money by being rare. It's better for AP to keep rereleasing pieces that go for insane amounts second hand so the money is going to the brand, not to scalpers. If someone bought CTP for $2k prior to the MTO that was their own choice, why feel bad for someone who has that kind of money to drop on a rare dress?

Honestly I think a few of them would be ok with some minor alterations to the print itself + the accenting details, but I think AP already won the game with the yellow and ivory colorways the way they are.
And the darker blue colorway might actually look super good (a la French Cafe) if I put more time into making the shoop look nice, gomen for my laziness

I’m trying to understand the sizing...up to ~127 bust but the bodice doesn’t have straps and can’t be adjusted lengthwise?? Is this some trap to have fatty-chans buy a dress that won’t look good on them?

Straps are adjustable. The Paris site even mentions it.

The original release had the type with two buttonholes on the strap and the buttons are on the body-facing portion of the shirring panel. IDK if they will put an additional buttonhole, but it's probably not quite as necessary. With cow-tits myself, this hit closer to my natural waist than most releases anyway.

I'm personally so excited to have a fun print that goes up past 110cm bust AND has adjustable straps. original nor special set HC would have ever worked for my big&tall hourglass ass.

Yeah. They are fully sealed up, but you can generally flip it all the way inside out and get to the area where the lining on the bodice meets the lining of the shirring. On mine, the elastic is poking out a little. But you could easillly take a seam ripper to this area pull the shirring further or just hand stitch it smaller and then sew it back up with a machine or by hand.

I'm not sure how delicate this fabric will be, but it would be an easy fix for cotton since I'd be worried less about snagging, ripping or pulling.

I wish AP would go back and re-release some other bag designs. But I've heard this design is a little more sturdy and less prone to age-related deterioration, rather than the softer material they put on a lot of the bags since the design is printed on this one.

I have two of the shooting star bags. I purchased the pink and yellow colorway new with tag in mint condition a few years ago. The straps still wrapped from the store. I wore it once for 4 hours and it was peeling like crazy. Now my lavender one that has had more use is starting to do the same. I have to go over both with leather paint to try to salvage them. I'm very upset about it and would love for AP to release them.

FWIW, I ordered it. The harder pleather tends to hold up much better. When you start getting the really soft to the touch kind, they end up being super-sensitive to temperature and humidity changes. Even just the act of shipping the item or travelling with it packed can cause some to warp due to atmospheric changes.

As for Holy Lantern, that was really a special case, (no, not talking about the dress being special) -- the MTO had to be closed down fucking halfway into the week because they'd hit max capacity of the factory, then they had to re-open the same MTO with the second batch having a later delivery date and it still filled up pretty quickly. When was the last time you heard that happen?

With that kind of level of demand, you'd be stupid not to do yet another re-release to milk that popularity. I'm not sure that I'd compare anything else to Holy Lantern's endless re-releases.

I've also went with Bunny House and some others that are no longer in business. Usually the international orders are roughly 2 weeks out from the Japanese ones. I've done a few MTOs where I've purchased them on the international site, and others where I've went through AP USA. Typically, I get it about two to three weeks after the Japanese orders.

I believe the items are shipped to to the other shops, and from there, they are processed and sent out to each person who ordered.

Whereas from Japan directly, they would just need to process the orders and ship them out. Then, we'd get a little longer delay as it would need to go through Tenso first. Likewise with a SS, they would need to receive order and ship it to you.

I use Artwear Labs. They used to offer tights, but they only do thigh highs and other sock options now. It's not too bad since I don't need to order multiple sizes and they fit pretty much anyone. The only downside is the pesky rolling down, but even AP's printed OTKs do this.

Otherwise, The quality is pretty good, the colors are long-lasting and vibrant, they have a quick turnaround, and have been really great to work with. Their website has a lot to be desired, but I do recommend them.

Otherwise, it looks like Artsmoo is probably the other best option for tights but it's a little pricier at $20 a pair.
