Most of the “seats” aren’t seats. There are a few general balcony seats left but the majority of the remaining tickets are for the GA standing area which is a big open floor behind the pit. So anyone who wants to actually sit down during the concert will need to be fast on general sale day.

I just refreshed my memory by looking at the GoH autograph schedule from last year and the only names I recognized were Go Nagai, Mari Okada, and two of the guys from Trigger that come to AX all the time (SUSHIO and Koyama). Honestly, the most impressive guests last year were brought through other companies and not AX as GoH...Yuji Horii, Akiman, Yui Horie, Yuki Kaji, Kumo Kagyu, etc. And most of them were announced in June.

So we still might get some cool guests, just don’t expect them to be AX GoH (and therefore getting an autograph will likely not be an organized or easy process).

AXDance DJ Lineup, Otaquest stuff, some fashion thing, MHA movie premiere, steins;gate producer, one piece puzzle hunt event, Go Nagai, Disgaea illustrator, SNK Designer, Voltron creative team, Fakku Party, Tokyo Tribes creator, AoT S3 premiere with VA guests, Nekopara creator, some more notable illustrators, Gridman Premiere, more anime premieres, Digimon reboot shit guests, Kengan Ashura premiere, and more were all announced in June last year.
I know people are massively bummed out about the list this year so far, but the list last year kind of sucked until June too.
I think everything I actually did or wanted to go see in 2018 was announced in June barring concerts.

My spending allowance was $100 one year. I actually ended up going under and spending the last $20 on more food. There's plenty to do that's "free" (aka included in ticket price). Whether that $300 includes ticket price or not, it's possible to have a good time. It just means you really have to watch your spending. I'd definitely suggest packing a lunch or eating outside of the convention center in your situation.

First time going to AX this year and wanted to ask, is the pre show worth going to? I ended up going to Colossalcon last minute and only have a handful of PTO days left, so I don't want to fly out early and get to the con on Wednesday afternoon when I can fly in at night if there isn't anything to do

I went the first year that pre-show night was implemented and only went to 1 panel. Kinda wasn't worth paying 10 bucks just to go to 1 interesting panel.
Last year's pre-show night's panels didn't sound interesting at all and made me glad that I didn't waste 30 bucks. This year's is looking to be uninteresting as well. Some of the panels are already up on the AX19 app.
Basically, I don't think pre-show night is worth it. Just rest up for day 1 after your night flight and/or go to the Otaquest kickoff if you're into EDM

I only know one kyary song so no interest in otaquest here. I’m amazed they even came back after how poorly last year’s otaquest sold (heard they were giving tickets away for free day of just to fill seats).

So not sure I believe that AWM Kawaii Live is gone due to low sales when Otaquest sold way less (despite cheaper tickets) and is somehow back in the MS theater. The fact they’re in the big theater but Aqours isn’t means someone at AX fucked up their concerts big time, so hoping whoever is responsible is not allowed to handle any con events in the future.
