Inspired by the Honey Cake debate that happened in the CoF thread, I thought I would bring back the "who wore it better?" threads. I think they're a great way to compare coordinates across prints or cuts and get inspiration on how to wear certain prints.

I really like all of them from different standpoints - 1 would do better with a full length tight or something to make it a little more ero with how tall she is; two and three are very great but I'd switch out 2's tights. Four suffers the height thing as well but she does it well with the tights that are over the knee - maybe a bag or an accessory to match the theme would send this into top.

Thread is weird. It'll always come down to:

there's a reason why even if someone like Misako has bland coords at times, she always looks great. This outfit could easily look like a mess on someone who was chubby, had a manish face, had an awkward smile at a bad angle, had poor image lighting, etc.

It's not really, but I've sold dresses after wearing them once and realizing it wasn't for me. It looked fine in a mirror, but off in photos in a way I didn't realize, or maybe the fit was a bit too off for my liking.

Me. There have been times when I bought a dress I thought I would like but I hated the color or fit once it was on me. Or things sometimes just aren't your style. The nice thing about lolita is when that happens you can sell it and make most of your money back.

Yeah, but to see it in a compilation like this is kinda nice. Like you HEAR people say DDC is their dream dress or whatever, and then you also hear people say you should be able to make 3 coords out of every dress, ideally that means you should have plenty of pictures with the same girl wearing the same dress different ways. But then you also hear about people who buy trendy dresses for popularity points then sell them later, people who confuse their shopping list for dream dresses and then sell off the ""dream dress"" like it was nothing to them, sad stories of people who get their coveted DD and don't quite fit right into them, people who hoard dresses but never wear them, etc etc.

It's just kinda nice to actually see a compilation where the dress did actually work out for some people, nothing more than that.

Person in both of the pictures.

It was my first time purchasing a dress during release. But by the help of other gulls, I got it.

I've worn it at least 10-12 times and in different ways, maybe more? I've worn it a lot.

I still own it. It'll probably one of the last things I sell if I ever do. I might keep it even if I decide to leave lolita. Just haven't worn it in awhile because of weight gain. But I should be able to fit it properly (better than in said pictures) in the summer or fall.

These things also work best when one is fit, but think about it - We're all going for a silhouette here and not fitting a bunch of the categories you listed + the ones above will obviously make it look not as good.

Don't be salty, fix what you don't like. Get better at makeup/photography/posing and then you've only got one thing on your list that really can't be changed. It's one of those things you accept and move on in a fashion based hobby.

It could be a starter home. We own a home that's in a similar neighborhood but all the homes were built in the 30's and 40's. They're two story flat foundation homes (few have basements) and they're all copies of eachother. We closed on our house at 80k, others go for sale around 90-120k but typically drop.

No crime. Just people quietly walking their dogs, jogging, teenagers walking home from school. It's mostly elderly or young couples with younger children.

You can be doing perfectly fine financially in such a home. Because it's not in a rich neighborhood or even a 300k+ neighborhood, it doesn't mean that people there are poor, ghetto trash, or living in squalor or anything.

I have no problem purchasing directly from brand or splurging on rare or high-priced items on the 2nd hand market when I want.

Come tell me about how you get to travel as often, have multiple expensive hobbies, pay your bills, can afford to eat out often, have a savings, have paid your student loan debt off all while having your 500k home.

midwestern, middle/upper middle class neighborhoods were all mostly built in the 1940s-1970s with similar housing plans because it was cheaper and more efficient for construction companies to build houses and allowed cities to have a properly lined out neighborhood (the stereotypical slow street, perfect grass lawn, near an elementary school of some sort, generally a "safe" place). I've seen one of these houses that was built just as a larger version of a regular one and the residents were multimillionaires. But it looked like a plain ol' slabby modular home ...just larger and with an extra garage.

Nothing wrong with living in a low cost of living area, especially if you are able to still make a decent living and spend all your money on burando. In fact, I'd say that's the way to go, no reason to be living in an expensive house in CA or wherever unless it's for a job.
