>Do you like BTSSB? Why or why not?
I like BTSSB! It isn't my number one favorite but when I think of lolita fashion, the standard BTSSB sweet lolita is what I think of. To me BTSSB is like the default setting of lolita.

>What makes BTSSB stand out compared to other brands?
I think they stand out by how true to their style they remain. Many dresses they release now could've been released five, ten years ago. While they do follow trends and release modern dresses too, they still stay true to their own spirit and I respect that.

>Do you have any BTSSB dream dresses?
I have a few, mostly solids like shirring princess, hwasae doll, the babydoll JSK. I also like the Ribbon and Cream OP, Maria Antonio OP. They make cute stuff.

>How much BTSSB is in your wardrobe?
Currently have two JSKs (but I am trying to sell one) and a blouse

>Do you think their style has changed over the years?
They have changed, all brands have changed, but to me, they have changed the least when you compare them to someone like Angelic Pretty.

>Do you like BTSSB? Why or why not?
I like Baby, though mostly to look at rather than own or wear. Most of my wardrobe is Innocent World, but Baby’s dresses — new and old — are the ones I come back to time and time again to sigh wistfully over. Especially old school Baby and Alice and the Pirates stuff. I’ve never felt like I HAD to have anything in AP or any other brand (except IW) but Baby is the proverbial store window I love just looking into whenever I can.

>What makes BTSSB stand out compared to other brands?
Construction wise, I think it has a very distinct set of silhouettes it keeps to and it doesn’t tend to try anything too crazy. I always think of it as very doll-like and ... hmm, for lack of a better word, un-selfconscious? It’s hard to define, but I tend to see Baby as like the wardrobe of a ditzy daydreamer who keeps flitting around because something’s caught her fancy, who isn’t terribly interested in (or capable of) staying on top of trends.

>Do you have any BTSSB dream dresses?
A lot of the Sentimental Circus collaborations are my favorites, but that’s probably my weakness for carnival themes showing. Otherwise, I just got the Ragnarok OP in the color I wanted! ... Now I just need to figure out how the heck to style it. It’s such a sack of an empire dress that I think it needs a bigger waist belt/maybe an underbust corset to nip in that extra fabric.

>How much BTSSB is in your wardrobe?
I’ve had a few Baby pieces over the years, but right now it’s just the Ragnarok dress. Fitting in with the “does her own thing” image I have of Baby, I find it hard to mix and match items from them with other brands, kind of like they don’t exactly fit together.

>Do you think their style has changed over the years?
Absolutely, altho I say that with the disclaimer that I haven’t been keeping up with them recently. I feel like they’re in an okay place but could maybe try some more new things cut and construction wise.

>Do you like BTSSB? Why or why not?
I fricken love Baby. They're my favorite brand although Meta is a pretty close second.
>What makes BTSSB stand out compared to other brands?
Baby really nails that sweet/classic hybrid style (sorry IW Baby does it better), and they're one of the few brands that still releases more traditional/oldschool style dresses. As a sweet lolita who is close to 30, I really appreciate how their designs are sweet and feminine without veering into supersweet AP territory. Obviously some of their releases are more sweet and some are more classic, but there's always something perfect for me and I can't say that about most other brands.
>Do you have any BTSSB dream dresses?
Most of my DDs are Baby desu. I really like their old Alice and fairytale prints, and the karami pieces too. The lace on their oldschool pieces is to die for seriously.
>How much BTSSB is in your wardrobe?
I'd say it's about 75% Baby.
>Do you think their style has changed over the years?
All brands have changed over the years. Baby has stayed closer to their roots than some other brands, but the difference is still obvious.

I love it dearly. It was my original DD, but back in 2001 it was approximately impossible to buy from Japanese brands without going there. I found it on y!jp a few years ago and was up til 5am on a work night, drinking and watching the auction end. I have the matching bonnet too, somehow I paid more for that than I paid for the dress.

>Do you like BTSSB? Why or why not?
Yes, a thousand times. I don't love everything they make but their hits are fantastic.

>What makes BTSSB stand out compared to other brands?
I feel that while obviously they've changed to an extent like all brands have over the years, they still have some pretty nice fabric and cuts. They have duds too, but they still make plenty of cotton pieces and most of their pieces still seem to be made in Japan. I love Baby's art design and their slightly more mature sweet feel even when making sweeter themed prints.

>Do you have any BTSSB dream dresses?
Yes, many. I had some before this dress, but pic related made me really reevaluate Baby and made them overtake AP in my eyes.

>How much BTSSB is in your wardrobe?
It's about equal to my AP, but quite a bit of my AP stuff is skirts and things I wear outside of lolita in other j-fashions while all my Baby is designed for wearing in lolita.

>Do you think their style has changed over the years?
Yes, but so has every brand's. I'd say the change is less blatant than AP's change and they still have a commitment to keeping a core style that AP has not maintained. I like that BTSSB still makes skirts and tends to make regular waist cuts for most of their products.

>Do you like BTSSB? Why or why not?
BTSSB and AatP are my favourite brands! Momoko is me, lel, I want to be buried in Baby.

>What makes BTSSB stand out compared to other brands?
Their designs are very cute, without being overly "cutesy". They also tend to have pretty flattering cuts. Their colour design is pretty on point- nothing they put out is too pastel or too dark or anything. Even their more pastel prints have darker tones sprinkled in them.
The fact that they still release a lot of solids/simple prints and more old school designs also give them points in their favour imho.

>Do you have any BTSSB dream dresses?
Tbh most of my dream dresses are BTSSB. Like every single dress they've released with Usakumya is a DD of mine automatically.

>How much BTSSB is in your wardrobe?
More than half my wardrobe is BTSSB at least? And a lot of what isn't Baby is AatP so most of it has come from one or the other. Almost all the brand novelty items I have are BTSSB as well.

>Do you think their style has changed over the years?
Of course it has, but I think they've remained pretty true to themselves over the years. The differences can mostly be boiled down to the overall changes in Lolita/trends over time, I think, and not any sort of total makeover.
A lot of their older pieces are still pretty recognizable as BTSSB to me, even though I'm relatively new to Lolita when compared to a lot of others.

>> No.10098743

>>Do you like BTSSB? Why or why not?
I love them! I wear gothic more than sweet but Baby always has a special place in my heart. BTSSB was the first ever irl brand store I went to when I was 17 and went to Japan. I never wore lolita before then but had admired it for years and I had been saving up to buy my first brand pieces on that trip. Going to the Btssb/AatP store for the first time is what finally gave me the push to start wearing the fashion. I still have the stamp card in my wallet from that day and I refuse to throw it out.
>>What makes BTSSB stand out compared to other brands?
Besides my own sentimental junk, I think they're the most iconic of all sweet brands. Yes AP is more popular and talked about but BTSSB just seems so quintessentially lolita and the fact they continuously produce their original dress designs from way back then just cement their brand and their pieces as the most notable to me.Also I'd say their long ass print names make them stand out too.
>>Do you have any BTSSB dream dresses?
Soiree of the beginning of my memories is one of my favourite prints of all time. Also a few of the classical series I'm always after in specific colour ways.
>>How much BTSSB is in your wardrobe?
Mostly just simple things like coats and blouses, I have a few skirts too. My personal style and wardrobe is more AatP than BTSSB right now although I love them both. I have a shitton of AatP
>>Do you think their style has changed over the years?
Yes but a lot less than other brands have. They still continually produce and rerelease their original old school pieces and their more modern pieces have remained far more aesthetically consistent than other brands. They hop on trends far less than others do, which isn't a good or bad thing, but I like that they do their own thing.

>> No.10098754

>Do you like BTSSB? Why or why not?
I like BTSSB a lot! AP is my number one brand, but i haven't really like many of its new releases and prefer their older pieces from 2008-2012. I don't like most old BTSSB, but a lot of the recent prints have been very cute and they've made some nice solid pieces too
>What makes BTSSB stand out compared to other brands?
I love the consistency with usakumya and kumakumya especially in prints. I thought the mermaid print was really unique and I love the recent valentine one as well. I also appreciate that they rerelease old school designs.
>Do you have any BTSSB dream dresses?
I don't have any DDs per se, but I have a lot of prints I want like the ones I mentioned. Once I get all of my DDs I'll start hunting for them!
>How much BTSSB is in your wardrobe?
I have 3 jsks and various accessories and kumyas
>Do you think their style has changed over the years?
I think their sweeter prints have gotten simpler over the past few years. I like how they use a bit more limited and vibrant palette, in older prints it's hard to see what's going on

>Do you like BTSSB? Why or why not?
I love Baby so much. When i was first starting out, and even as a teenager, i always loved the style that Baby did in their earlier days.
>What makes BTSSB stand out compared to other brands?
personally i think their stuff has a certain feel to it. It's not as flashy as AP or Meta, but not too tame like Innocent World or Moitie. to me they'll always be that very in your face, classic, iconic lolita look
>Do you have any BTSSB dream dresses?
Yes! I do actually. One of my holy grail, dream dresses is the sailor cut of the 2003 Poodle Parade in sax. I remember seeing it when starting off and just loving it so much. I own it in three colors and cuts already, but the little poodles on them always make my heart swoon.
>How much BTSSB is in your wardrobe?
I have probably 2 dresses, 3 skirts, 4 blouses, a tie, 3 pairs of socks, 4 headdresses, 2 bags, 1 usakumya rutsack, and two headbows that are Baby! I would like to get more but Meta has my heart on lockdown
>Do you think their style has changed over the years?
For sure. they don't make their dresses like they used to at all, i personally don't enjoy their prints as much as APs typically, and they steered more toward sweet, printed lolita than their original roots in traditional. I really do enjoy their classical series though, and would like to see them come back out with some solids, or heavy velvet pieces this year.

I feel like everything they design has an elegance to it, even their very sweet designs.

>Do you have any BTSSB dream dresses?
It's Aatp, but the Alice and the Labyrinth of the Clockwork World Skirt (pic related) has a special place in my heart. I hope to pick it up someday.

>How much BTSSB is in your wardrobe?
Just a JSK and a few accessories, but I'm not planning on keeping it that way.

>Do you think their style has changed over the years?
Definitely. Lolita as a whole has changed throught the years, it makes sense that they'd change with it.

Drama isn't required for lolita though. Honestly it's off topic for the board.

Thank you for this picture, I was searching for a worn picture of this dress.

Does by cgance anyone know this kitty doll and the accesoires were sold or this are just show items? I have this set and the headdress looks different also the jsk has small differences.

I think that's the fashion show/ad only OP set, only seen the jsk for sale

I didn't notice this dress is an OP, on lolibrary is listed only the JSK so the OP must have been only for shoe, in the sold set the head bow is red not pink and the bows on the dress are different. The headbow in pink here looks better than the red one that was sold.

I adore Baby of all era except nowadays because i'm a grumpy grandma and the "traditional lolita" aesthetic they used to have until around 2012 was the best. I'll forever prefer them over AP as much as i love my magical girl vomit from them

>> No.10106072

To me, older Baby is everything I love about lolita.
It's starting to outnumber AP in my wardrobe at 60% if you count my Baby accessories, cardis, blouses. Baby is so iconic to me and i'll forever love them

> “I tend to see Baby as like the wardrobe of a ditzy daydreamer who keeps flitting around because something’s caught her fancy, who isn’t terribly interested in (or capable of) staying on top of trends.”
This was such an endearing description m, anon. Makes me remember why I even love lolita in the first place.

Slow motion bouquet. Colours also include mint, ivory and black. It also has a skirt and jsk version those sleeves are detachable.
