I find that too casual for me, I go all the way with my poof no matter where I'm going, but that's just my personal taste because I love having a big skirt. It obviously depends on what makes the skirt/ dress look best as well, (I have about seven pettis all in different levels of poof) but as long as the sillohette flows nicely and the skirt is full I'm happy. A skirt that's got a too flat petti for it just looks so sad to me.

In terms of that picture, the girl in the middle looks like they have enough poof to suit that dress and is a more normal level, the ones either side of her look a bit more casual.

the JSK would fit her fine if she didn't purposefully extend the straps to sit at a low point on her waist and if she didn't tighten it so much. she tightened the shit out of it for the silho, which normally is okay, except it doesn't work here because of the cup-style of the bodice. without the blouse her chest would be out and it doesn't look right for lolita.
The. End.

These are kind of horrible, though, I know from the sharpness of the focus the girl probably posed for them but they still look like tacky upskirt photos. If we could fix it so that they actually look artistic and classy instead of pervy, clumsy and weird it would be so much better.

There used to be another set of photos where the photos were taken at the edge of a staircase, so the angle looked more natural and less upskirty. The lolita was looking back at the photographer and I think the petticoats were multiple colourful layers as well. Anyone remembers that set of photos? I think it's way better than these upskirt-type photos.

NYART but I'm a bit double on this. On one side, as someone who had depression and has overcome it, even tho I didn't do self harm in any way that left visible stuff, I can understand that once you're mentally doing better you just want to do what you love, live life normally, and don't worry about those scars and such every day for the rest of your life. I can also understand that scars won't leave and can come from many things (even tho not many are common that look like self harm) and that people shouldn't expect everyone to look perfect or hide any imperfection.

Yet on the other side, I also really dislike seeing them. Self harm related things shouldn't be something you see random on the street on people, as it might give people the idea "so many do it" and weaken the perseption people have of it making them think it's not so bad/normal to have this so if you struggle you shouldn't need help, as many people stuggle with it. Or they might see it in a degrading "everyone has this problem nowadays" way. Self harm already has strong connontation with attention whores, because the group we do often see it on does it for attention. Surely, they might be a small group within those who do self harm (as there are many reasons for it, and most aren't attention), but because they want attention they are the ones we often see. Next to that, I don't need nor want to know you've hurted yourself for whatever reason. Yes, I can look away, but unless I never see people again in my life I need to see it before I know to look away. And even when I know they might not be doing anything wrong or could actually use some support and kindness, I still don't necesarily want to see something that tells me about some personal issues from a stranger. If I'll do the same in words or with clothes people hate me. And even when you can't always hide scars like you can not use words or wear clothes, it tells me the same and that's still dis-likeable behaviour.

>> No.10077985

>>10077983
Depends on what you want out of your wardrobe. If it's going to be varied, get both cupcake and A-line; if you like mild poof or want to wear the fashion daily, get a small petti, etc.

>> No.10077991

>>10077983

If you're truly starting out, one as a feeler. If you want something fancy for a con, then get a big cupcake petti. If you're thinking of doing daily coords you can walk around in, then get a mid petticoat. Don't get the Classical puppets daily a-line though, it barely has any poof even for daily, best suited for those ETC dresses with almost no room for petti. You'll grow from the one petti and see what your needs are.

It depends what items you have in your starter wardrobe. If they are all sweet items that need a cupcake petti there's zero point in getting an A-line, you may as well get 2 cupcake ones, or if you're a MM/VM kinda person then you probably aren't going to need a cupcake petti very often. Remember you can layer petticoats - A-line under cupcake = fluffy cupcake as long as they are similar length.
