Imagine doing nothing productive for society, but yet having 2,438 friends, and when one mean person on the internet dares to say something non-asspat about you, 129 reacts and 84 comments come flooding in

meanwhile i waste my life in a job that in no way relates to my degrees (which i was convinced to earn under deceptive pretenses), where the material i work with rattles me emotionally to the point i leave on the verge of tears somedays, but i have nobody to help me get through it because every time i try to meet someone i get ghosted without explanation, and my only real friend moved away interstate
it doesnt help when i can see objectively this happens solely because of what i look like, as my issues and communications are repeated in others and in no way does this occur to them

im sorry about the pathetic rant, please continue about your daily lives :)

For anyone who's been around in the cos community here for a while, you might remember Zimiel? She used to be very underweight, back around the 2014 era, the most common interpretation was that she was anorexic. I'm not sure if she ever mentioned it publicly, but she does seem to be do doing a whole lot better now and has a wonderful figure!

Hopefully some people remember her, because I was pleasantly surprised after remembering her name and deciding to look her up after years of not hearing anything from her.

There are two waterparks in NSW. Jamberoo is in Wollongong which is around 3 hours train from Sydney. Not easily accessible by public transportation.

Wet and Wild
Located in Prospect which is around Blacktown approx 1-2 hours from Sydney CBD. It's not accessible by public transport.

So the con organizer would have to completely book out the venue. Then they would have to make it easy for people to get there (i.e provide buses). Sydney community chucks a shitfit if they have to get to ICC which is in the Sydney CBD so I can't see there being a demand for this.

Beach -
The biggest and most easily accessible beaches are Bondi Beach, Maroubra Beach and Manly Beach. All the other beaches tend to be a bit titchy. Council regulations and popularity of the beaches make it very hard to book it out.

The other beaches tend to be either really hard to access or have rough conditions that even experienced swimmers struggle with.

Not to say that groups can't do shoots at the beach/water park (though they should check the local council first to see their stances on beach photography) but that is pretty much why there won't be a large scale beach or waterpark convention anytime soon

As a seller, a person who hangs around just to hit on you is so bloody annoying. They're taking up valuable space for other customers, distracting you from serving other customers properly and half of the time they don't seem to understand that you are literally trapped at the booth being nice to people because it is your job. The icing on the cake is when they don't buy anything and/or start chucking a shit fit about how everything you sell is terrible and you should be flattered

I normally HATE being approached. But my strategy if you saw someone you really wanted to get to know would be.

I had a young, amateur photographer shoot me at PAX one year and after he sent me the photos, he contacted me again about a month afterwards very politely inviting me for coffee. I declined (not interested for a number of reasons) and he left it at that. But we are still FB friends and I see him around. I don't think anything he did was weird or creepy, and he didn't act like an entitled douchecanoe.

I've been to a few Sydnovas but without anyone else to hang around with it's not particularly fun. I come from further up the coast where it doesnt seem as big a thing for me to go with people.

Madman is good if you like LoveLive (lmao), though they also tend to have advance screenings of movies and pretty good guests.

Animaga is good for a comfy chill con, but the admin for it is a mess (spoken as someone who worked behind the scenes for years)

Supanova is a shitty giant dealers hall and is run by an anti LGBT piece of shit so do with that what you will.

As a bonus, PAX is great if you love games, though it's always super crowded and not ideal for big cosplays. Expect to wait in a LOT of lines for anything worthwhile.You can win a lot of high end free shit if you're organised and prepared to hop from booth to booth for giveaways.

lmao share what your position was. I was on the sponsor/sales team and can tell you that Animaga has been bought out by the Chinese. The president of Animaga literally works for their largest sponsor (MSY Computers, a Chinese electronics retailer) and is a yes man to everything they tell him.
