I love all the bullshit stories people are posting where they try to turn their inability to plan ahead into a Greek tragedy. You know, stories like “I wanted to take my anxiety driven autistic brother to DCC but now we can’t go because they ran out of tickets!” where they are trying to make others pity them and hand them a spare ticket. Of course it happens with every con, although this is the first time DCC sold out of Saturday tickets and they do attract more normies. I guess that explains why I see more “marktplaats-level” sob stories over the typical “I was broke EKSDEE” excuses this time around.

Honestly though, the majority of the whiners are those who still hadn’t decided if they should go or not and are now only complaining because the choice has been made for them. In the end they probably wouldn’t had gone anyway.

What else did you expect? The entire con took place in four large halls in which you have zero natural light and inadequate artificial lighting. To get your exposure right in those conditions without going overly soft, blurred or grainy pretty much requires to use of a flash, a skill the average visitor simply does not possess. Even then on-site you’re limited to taking fugly “cosplayers standing in a dealer room type of situation” shots or using one of the grey/black-ish walls as a background, hence why the majority of pictures so far just look horrible.

Ofcourse you can fake kindness. In this community faking kindness has been an unspoken rule for a long time. The moment you voice a harsh opinion which even has facts and proof to support it people flock to the "kind" and "poor" soul if the person has this vibe around them.

The more fake kindness you emit, the more people will like you and thus you can grow to a point where it is obvious and their true colours are shown and they crack.

That doesnt mean there are a few genuine kind people out there but the attitude of this community would make it very hard to be the nice positive person.

Give me a good cosplayer with a hars but honest opinion / facts instead of a kind only type of cosplayer.

Besides that. Sakuraflor, Sammy and fluffy just seems like a group of all kinds of people to be honest. Saku the kind it seems, Sammy the bland/generic so Saku stands out more and miss sassy body positive so the fatties can also relate. They only miss a well toned gay guy who is a bullied nerd and you got a group consisting of almost each type residing in the cosplay community.

This is exactly what is wrong with our community. People like you. The second cosplayers put out positive vibes there’s people like you who question their sincerity.

Have you ever thought that they might just be nice? Kindness can be faked but not forever. Both fluffy and Sakuraflor have been in the scene for a long time if their kindness were fake it would’ve shown through. Instead they seem to be gaining more likeability. Their reactions are sincere you don’t fake that kind of thing unless you’re a really good actress and if that’s the case they chose the wrong profession.

Don't bring community vendettas onto this board. Singling out individual cosplayers for the purposes of trolling them will not be tolerated.
