Hairstyle's supposed to accentuate your better looking features, so you can probably do without bangs if you think it suit you.
But I can assure you that there is absolutely every style of bangs to suit every shapes of forehead and jawline, making your face appear even cuter. If you don't like cutting your real hair you can ask a wig stylist to pick a clip on bang for you, or get a wig that's got bangs since these are also easier to wear than lace front.

I can pull off bangs but my hair is thin so I prefer not to cut that much off

I don't like bangs because I have very deep set eyes and big under eye bags thanks to bad genes, so my eyes become a big shadow accentuating said eye bags making me look like a corpse if I have bangs. Until I have had surgery, I'm not even gonna try bangs anymore.

These higher above the eyebrow bangs look ridiculous to me, and not cute at all. It's more a "I don't want to cut my bangs that often nor get them in my eyes, so I rather look bad than do something" kinda look. Horrible.

I've never seen backlash against lolitas without bangs before so wtf changed? Are people on cgl too accustomed to seeing big wigs with bangs online and forgot what normal lolitas look like irl? It's true the majority of lolitas have bangs, but having bangs is not a "rule" the way wearing a blouse, bloomers and petticoat is. The best dressed girls in my comm don't have bangs. When I go to a meet I think about 1/3 of the girls there doesn't.

But I go into lolita about 3 years ago and when I started coming here around 3 years ago, I was given the impression that you need bangs for lolita and when people were posted to the ita and CoF threads, I saw "needs bangs" as a common complaint/criticism.

Dry shampoo, like the other anon mentioned. I've also washed just my bangs in the sink on occasion. Hit them up with a blowdryer and you're good to go. If you're careful you can do it without messing your makeup.

I'll be honest, and I rarely come here to shit on how certain lolitas decide to do things - but I personally think that the no bangs look really only works for Gothic and Classic.

I think it can work in sweet but usually if a headband is involved or there is something going on with the head piece that distracts from the no bangs look.

I'm not even going to get into things like Sailor and Nun lolita as those are just entire styles on their own. inb4 some goof nugget bitches because I called them styles.

It's really less "you must have bangs" and more "your hair needs to be presentable". Bangs are an introductory way to get there because you do have to maintain them and style them, moreso than if you just part your hair and leave it there. But there are a bunch of girls with bangs who do the absolute least and it looks greasy as fuck. Bangs don't magically save you. You can have no bangs, as long as you style it somehow. Just look at every pic in the thread, everything is blown out or curled or braided or pulled back or just arranged nicely.
