I fucking love the mental image of that, anon. You're gonna look like a handsome, robust mountain man, go for it! It's a very shapeless fashion so it matters less what your body type is, you can play with proportion as you see fit. There aren't really any stores that cater to it, thrifting, vintage and antique stores are your best bet. A quick google search for 'mori kei male' will give you some ideas and inspiration. Sorry I don't have more exact links but I'm sure you can figure it out.

How does payment from Milk's online store work? It says they'll provide payment options through email in their little guide thing, do they just email you requesting a certain amount sent to their paypal the way btssb does or is it some other way? I've used tenso in the past but this is the first time I've encountered anything like this.

I wish I could search Wunderwelt and Closet Child by size. Wunderwelt lets you search for pieces with shirring, but that doesn't apply to things like blouses, especially since I'm on the extremely skinny and petite end.

You mean the garments' condition? I find that CC's is fairly accurate, if not slightly misleading in the positive sense; i.e. every piece I've gotten from them that supposedly had damages seemed to be perfectly fine.
Meanwhile WW's seems to be accurate as well except that their pricing doesn't really reflect the item's condition. They often sell pieces with very obvious damages for inflated prices, for no apparent reason. Personally I'd rather not pay $100+ for a stained JSK but that's just me.

Is it in bad taste to politely message someone on LM about an item they won a year + ago to see if they might be interested in selling it? I have only seen one listing for an older AP dress I have been looking for but it sold back in 2016. I've actually had an experience with this (as the one receiving that kind of message) and while I did think it was strange (I got the particular dress a long time before so I was like 'how did you even find that info?') I replied that I'd keep them in mind should I ever decide to let go of that dress. And I really will! I can't say if I'll ever really actually sell that dress as I love it, but who knows what the future holds and I will message that person should I decide to sell. Some people might find it really rude, but personally I don't. You need to prepare for either outcome and be willing to take that risk I guess?

But I've bought plenty of other B rank and they were like brand new
ww has higher standards for their rankings I feel.
They say C has stains/damages but I've bought C rank stuff that had none, just a worn feeling.
But at least with ww you can email them about the specific item. like you can ask why it's ranked what it is if you can't see it in the pics and they'll tell you.
One time I emailed them about why a skirt was ranked D, because it looked good, but just a bit worn, and they said there was a stain on the back, which they didn't even take close up shots of...

Do you mean that you find shoes there tend to run narrower than western ones? I find it's the opposite, since I have wide feet and have issues with western shoes while Asian ones fit me perfectly.

Or were you talking about how they don't do separate width sizes like C, D, etc.? I'm curious because the only shoes I've ever seen in the west that include width sizing have been military boots. I'd be very interested in western shoe brands that actually offer wide sizing!

Which ones did you buy that you had to stretch out? I can't recommend specific brands in general, but I would suggest looking for shoes that are inherently cut wider, like those with very round toeboxes over more pointed, 'elegant' shoes. I mostly wear (flat) platform Mary Janes since I do a lot of old school and find them to be nice and roomy.

I think some of the difference in Asian vs. western shoes is actually toe length, which may change the fit of a shoe just like the waistline of a dress riding up higher on the body if you're too tall for it. I have stubby Asian toes, and whenever I shop for western shoes (especially peeptoes and sandals), I find my toes end like almost a good inch before where they're supposed to based on the cut of the shoe. It's frustrating.

I bought this dress to diy and i want to make it more jfash oldschool like gothic, but subtly, so i can wear it around on a weekend.

>> No.9950359

>>9950349
I feel that plaid would throw it into 2000s Hot Topic mallgoth territory. Don't do it.
Depending on your skill and how much effort you want to dedicate to it, personally I'd overhaul the collar, make it all while and more prominent to bring it over from a plain peter pan to a nun-inspired collar.
If you add lace to any part of it, please don't skimp on it. Not everything has to be top quality like lolita fashion so maybe it's just me but cheap raschel lace makes my skin crawl, it makes otherwise cute clothes look like garbage, at least in my opinion.
Lastly, it looks super short, you can add a layer to the skirt portion (sewn on the inside of the garment) with ruffles at the hem to make it a bit longer but there's a limit to the amount of length you can add to it before it looks stupid.

>> No.9950368

Oh god i had to look up raschel lace, and i would never. I love the idea to make the collar all white. I don’t think i have skill to overhaul the collar and put a new one in , but i can sew white over it, and it would be fine? Its a thin collar so it wouldnt be too bulky.

Yeah it is super short. The brand it is seems to specialize in slutty thot clothing which isn’t what im going for. It barely covers my butt. I think it needs 4 inches to be cute schoolgirl level. I also feel like it needs something between the collar and the waist. I could add cute buttons going down or mahbe somethin with lace?

Buttons will be cute, just a few near the collar like pic related will add some detail to the dress without overdoing it. Since they're not going to be functional you can be creative with the kind that you choose, like ones shaped like crosses or skulls for example.

Honestly other than collar idea I wouldn't really bother (and even the collar idea is only if you happen to like white collars) -- this is a really minimalist normie-looking short dress, and all your ideas so far feel like they're trying to fit two clashing fashion ideals together, the end result is probably going to look off because the silhoutte is so minimal that any excess lace looks out of place on it.

I'd suggest simply channeling Wednesday Addams and maybe going with tumblr witchy aesthetic if you want to go goth with it. If the skirt is really short, you could cut it off and turn it into a blouse, at least you might be able to insert that into a nanchatte seifuku coord at some point. Maybe. Another option is to go with adding some tacky Larme-ish detail like corset lacing on the sleeves, but that's pretty much non-oldschool and isn't all that subtle.

Honestly if you want to do: subtle, oldschool, gothic and DIY, you may be better off learning to sew your own dress. At least you can design it from scratch to be consistently girly, rather than trying to tack on some lace and hope it looks okay with the minimalist sleeves, and make a longer skirt to begin with rather than try to lengthen the skirt and hope it doesn't look too stupid.

I like white collars. I think i’ll just tie a white ribbon to peak out under it. I’ll see if i can lengthen it with a ruffle tier hem thing and if it doesnt work, it’ll make a bitchin wednesday adams top

If you insist every meetup has to be music themed that'll get annoying and they'll be annoyed.

Outside of that no one actually cares, to be honest you probably won't even register on some members' radars, especially if the comm is big and there's always some girl coming or going. At most, maybe a year later someone finally notices you always wear music prints, goes "oh you must really like music" and that's about it.

So yeah, you'll be fine. Except for your own behaviour trying to make it a bigger deal than it really is.

Wow, what's trending in the plus size office wear shops near you right now? I'd think a simple, plain white shirt would be a staple for every size and every location/year/season, considering the number of companies that require three-piece suits no matter your size, but I guess there's no accounting for weird manufacturing trends.

Anyhow, I'd suggest looking on taobao and filter for plus size -- taobao thread is at >>9880689, although it's pretty close to post limit. There's a dictionary in the opening post, you should be able to find the keyword for plus size in it. If you're using the mainland site you should also be able to select XL sizing as one of the filters.

If that doesn't work out, then I'd suggest a local tailor. At least they can measure you in person and make sure it fits.

I'm wondering if maybe the seller is having the same problem I had with not receiving PP notifications in email, and she's just waiting for an email saying the invoice was paid.

I don't want to leave the seller hanging and thinking I never paid, so should I send another msg on LM and let them know about the PP email issue in case they're having the same problem? Or do most sellers know about the email notification issue (since it seems to be a recurring problem with PP).

I feel stupid for asking this, but...how long does it take for shirring to stretch out? Like if someone plus sized wore a shirred item for a day would it be stretched out, no it will be fine, or if it will be is it at least just temporary?

Basically my friend and I both own the Holy Lantern zipper JSK and as we get towards Halloween are starting to plan wearing them. I'm on the lower bust sizing of the dress and it's actually a little too big and puffy from the full back shirring, meanwhile she's at 110cm bust-ish I think. We've excitedly talked in the past about how cool it is that we could borrow each other's HL to have a different color but I find myself a bit worried about stretching since it's already a little bit big on me.

The answer is likely that nothing will happen, I just thought I'd ask and soothe my fears.

That's the point. If it's not lolita, it can be any other fashion, and there's no rule for how long it needs to be.

Whether or not it looks good on you, just look in the mirror. Do you look good? Do your legs look good? Does it look slutty? Does it look silly? Do leggings look all right with it? etc etc.

When you shop for normie generic skirt overalls you'd put them on the dressing room and see if it looks good on you. Just do the same with your brand salopette. If it looks good, it's good to go. If it doesn't, underskirt time. It's really that simple.

>>9953537

Lolita skirts need to be longer than mid-thigh.

So if the salo was lolita, that would be the rule.

If the salo was not lolita, that would not be the rule.
If the salo was not lolita, it can be shorter than mid-thigh.

Clearer now?

I usually will pin them to the blouse, especially if they are those fat single needle pins.

If the pin is the style of pic related, I will actually clip it around the strap of my jsk, not actually puncturing it through the fabric, but having it just sit on the dress with the strap inside. If I can't do that on a certain dress I would actually just pin it through the regular way because the needles tend to be much thinner. I try to find a spot that would usually be covered, like under a layer of short lace or something.

Japan has a weight limit of 30kg so you most likely have to split the order in two - 30 kg and 7,8 kg. Romantic Gothic stands out for the mixture of different sources, look for second hand stores, handmade and Gothic shops near your area. The romantic Gothic is one of the styles that you can play more. Many times you can buy in normies stores but the accessories make the difference, not just the makeup.

Other shops you can look:
Videnoir
Somnia Romantica
Heavy Red
Kambriel

It's made to be oversized, so it's going to be more like normal American sizing since 90 cm is about 34 inches and that's usually the bust for a small tight fitting garment here and that's the x-small here.

Not trying to hikack this thread but can someone please spare a minute to help me with something?

I’ve recently started going out with this tall Amazonian goddess (blond hair) and she’s into sports/fitness health the whole kitchen kaboodle.
Now my concern lies with her brother, we were watching tv yesterday when he turned and asked me what was w the guy in my?
I just couldn’t answer him because I’m not sure how I want this relationship but I’m hoping it could lead somewhere otherwise I I’m I’ll see if you want it to me and then go get some something it will help take you.

Anyone ever been in the same boat? I’m just too scared for them I to and I just don’t can’t get.

My local comm is small, and I'd like to start hosting meetups to keep it active. I have an idea of where to have them, but any advice on logistics would greatly be appreciated! e.g. How to encourage people to come, how to suggest a possible dress code, what to do if no one shows up lmao

>> No.9956678

>>9956635
Individually guilting people in to coming is most effective. Enforcing a dress code discourages people from coming, especially if it’s a small comm and has a bunch of newbie members. If you’re worried about nobody showing up, ensure that at least 1 friend is going. I’ve been to a meet before that the organiser didn’t even show up to and the venue was closed on that day, and the few of us that showed up just went shopping and out for a meal.
My question is does anyone have advice for carrying around a large amount of crap with them? At the moment I usually need 2-3 days clothes, toiletries, 3-4 medium sized books, large water bottle, usually a container of food, few balls of wool, plus other things. I can barely deal with this load when I’m not in lolita because it gets very heavy and doesn’t really fit in my bag/s but i do miss wearing the fashion so any advice is appreciated. I find that my current disorganisation is very hard on my clothes as well for some reason.

>> No.9956686

>>9956678
>guilting people
lmao what
Who wants to attend a meetup out of guilt? What does that even mean?

>>9956635
If your comm is really small and inactive, imo the best thing to do is to pick a meeting spot like a cafe or a cute patisserie, tell them you're going there on X date and Y time to have some tea and macarons and that they're all invited to come in their frills. That's it. Make it spontaneous so there's no endless debate on the time and date and mention that it's a lolita meetup, i.e. an occasion for them to wear their lolita out, without pushing the "dress code" matter too hard since it can scare newbies sometimes.
As for what to do if no one shows up, just keep in mind that this is a possibility and be okay with that. Make plans for what to do if that does happen, for example you can either walk around on your own or have some tea like you planned and go back home.
There's really not much to it. Make it casual and laid back, and don't make a big deal out of it.

HOW DO I MAKE FRIENDS AAAAAHHHHH

>> No.9957141

I hear ya. I don't wear light colored normal socks so I don't notice stains or dirt but they still get pilling.
I noticed that my shoes are often the cause for staining. I think the style of the shoe has a big effect on pilling and stains, ie shoes with a dark lining or lining that starts to peel to reveal the adhesive, and I think heels would rub more around the ankle, or any shoe that allows your foot to move too much.
I've thought about cutting and then sticking a panty liner to protect my more precious socks. Seriously is there some kind of sock protector out there?

>> No.9957144

Seems to be a mix of things, not just one. 2010 is a long-ish while ago, and even some prints that were "big" in their day like Queen's Coach or Melty Chocolate are just kind of "meh" now. So one factor is simply time, the girls who were into it either got over it, or simply left the fashion and there's less people who even remember it used to be a big deal anymore.

Another contribution is the re-release was a special set, not a regular release -- which was pretty awesome for those that just wanted the print, but it had a cheaper price, so I think it did kind of muddle the pricing for the older regular releases because I've seen more than one occasion where people mix up the lucky pack and regular versions, even though the colour was red, which the special set didn't come in.

Third would be that Meta actually made a lot of the special sets -- I remember they restocked their online shop at least once, and the less popular colourways didn't sell out the day of release. And a year later the impulse buyers all dumped their hype buy, so for a little while it was possible to find for under 20k yen.

Contributing factor, even though it was re-released, the original was still pretty hard to find, especially if you wanted a red set. It was just easier to get a matched set of the newer special set versions, so I think eventually people just stopped trying for the original version, so demand for it also dropped (not that it made any easier to find a red set).

I think out of all things the replica barely made any impact, the fabric was just way different from the original so the replica always looked obvious.

Meta's been doing the same thing as Baby with their recent releases, when it sells out too fast or does really well they tend to do an MTO (if it's sold out too fast), or they re-release it the following year. So a lot of prints tend to be hyped up one year and then kind of become "oh this again" by the following year (good for those looking for them, though).

Some of the specific wa releases in the kimono cuts seem to be highly coveted, but even then they're mostly worth their retail secondhand, not 2x or more like Twinkle Journey used to be.

No, not exactly re-releases. Baby and Meta both do reservations. AP does not. And when a print sells out fast enough Baby and Meta do tend to announce a second round, third round, however many rounds as long as each round sells out fast enough. Each round has a later shipping date than the one before. Baby has a lower threshold, I've seen them do some reservations specifically for one colour and cut only, because that one specific colour/cut sold out way faster than everything else.

AP has no way to do this, because they make the dresses first and can only sell however many dresses are on hand. All three of them make re-releases and MTOs, but Baby and Meta in particular will announce a second, third round of reservations for whatever sold like hot cakes.

That's why some Baby or Meta prints can be gorgeous, popular, a hit for that year and yet be easy to find at a reasonable price -- because these are the prints a lot of girls bought in several rounds of reservations, so there is a lot more of them in circulation.
