The AP Halloween print is going to be wild.
I saw it at the tea party a few hours ago.
A lavender OP (normal waist!!) puffy black chiffon sleeves, and a beautiful border print. The OP had a border print with coffins, castles and some kind lf gothic table thing, looked like Vampire Requiem with a cute twist. Also red accents in the border and chandeliers all over.

What do you guys think of Hot Chocolate shoes? A (non fashion) blogger I follow made a post about them and I had never heard of them before so I checked them out and honestly I think they are really adorable and I want a pair. But I have no idea how cute they would actually look being worn in real life.

Obviously they DO NOT work for Lolita, with the exception of maybe some casual Lolita outfits, but would they work for any more casual j fashions? Would they look cute in normie fashions?

I know the print thread is more appropriate for this, but it's deader than dead so I don't want to revive it if nobody is interested in it. Just wondering how common it is for people to save brand background pictures? Or just any pictures from brand websites in general?

I used to save the stock photos of anything I liked but stopped because I was saving so many of them that it was a cluttered mess. Do lolitas still make galleries of their dream dresses and stuff? I only ever saved a couple of backgrounds. At some point a bunch of other folks were posting them onto Tumblr so I stopped. The only thing is some people don't tag them right so even though they're up there it's hard to find them if they don't have the tags you'd think to search for.

I had a dream dress gallery up on collectsor but I bought most of them. Got lucky I guess, a lot were re-released and then a handful I picked up on a couple of trips to Japan. I'd make a list of my wishlist items, but to be honest there's way too many of those and I'm not really sure I actually want to hunt them down anyway (there's a reason they're wishlist dresses and not dream dresses).

Their customer support is the absolute worst and the weird security algorithm causes a lot of problems that either make no sense or could be easily solved if PP was actually bothered.

I think you're overthinking this. No one is going to hate on you for picking the "wrong" dress, especially if you're buying secondhand brand since chances are you'll get something very nice and not milanoo-tier.
Have you done your research? Do you know which brands are lolita and which aren't? Which substyle do you prefer? If you know these three things you'll do just fine, even if you have a bit of a rocky start which in my opinion is an essential part of the learning process.
Imo your biggest concern should be looking good for yourself, not other people's opinion of you, least of all anonymous people's opinion of you. When you're done getting dressed, compare yourself to girls whose looks you like - And I mean in terms of style, silhouette, color balance, etc., just to see if you've done well.

No, not at all. Lolita is a working woman's fashion and there is no way you would have been able to afford it when you were 12, unless you have parents willing to spoil you. 19 is the ideal age to start.

A lot of lolitas don't have lolita friends either, you can always find some online or finding a local comm.

>> No.9943347

>>9943336
Definitely not, a lot of people don't start wearing lolita well into their twenties since that's when they can afford it. Sometimes it's better to get into the fashion after admiring it for a long time, once you have a rough idea of what styles and brands you like and the disposable income to put towards building a wardrobe.

Also like >>9943341 said, you likely wouldn't have been able to afford it at 12 or 13 unless you had rich parents. If you didn't, you probably would've been stuck with a closet full of bodyline or replicas or something (even though secondhand brand and taobao are dirt cheap now, they weren't as accessible say, 7 years ago when you were 12)

You can always join a local comm if you must have lolita friends, otherwise just start wearing the fashion in your day to day life. You don't really need specific events to wear it too unless you're wanting to wear super OTT coords. It all depends on your own lifestyle and how you're wanting to fit the fashion into that.

Lolita isn't a fashion for children. It's for adults. New dresses generally run from 100-400 dollars. There are women 40+ who wear this fashion. Based on how naive your question is (and assuming you're not a troll) I would highly recommend lurking around CGL for a few months to get a better hang on the fashion. I lurked obsessively for half-a-year before even atempting the fashion. It's too expensive to do wrongly or to indulge a passing fancy.

Normies are gonna think you're an ageplayer. Reputation matters more the older you get, if you weren't a newfag you'd realize all the ageplay drama. Normies confuse lolita with ddlg and ageplay shit all the time. It's more difficult to find friends to enjoy lolita with now that I've transferred to my dream school.

I think things would have been different for me if I made friends a few years back, and just enjoyed lolita with them over the years.

The cost of lolita was never a problem for me and won't ever be. The problem is finding friends to enjoy lolita with. Not online friends, but people I can see on a daily basis.

The problem is that, I've waited so long to make friends with the same interests as me. That I wouldn't want to risk talking about lolita to someone in real life. (or having people uninvolved know)

I want to be able to wear lolita out with a friend that accepts me, but the area I live in is just far too normie. And I'm just way too uncomfortable to do that stuff now.

They do not have different sizes but most of their dresses have partial shirring so maybe the shirring was stretched out which technically made it bigger. gonna suggest r/loseit on reddit -- much better advice and support (and less trolls) than /cgl/ and /fit/ combined.

It might help to reframe things in terms of making healthy lifestyle changes rather than "losing weight to fit into a dress". Aim to move more so your muscles don't atrophy and you get the endorphin hit from exercising, and instead of watching calories try to eat fresh leafy veggies for the health benefits (they're also generally high in fibre and low in calories). When you find a way to fit some easy exercise and healthy eating habits into your lifestyle it becomes less of a struggle not to munch on junk food or skip workout sessions.

Is your reading comp really this poor? I said a few months on cgl, anon, and I never said ONLY cgl. While blogposts and scrolling through cof is additionally beneficial, cgl is one of the few genuinely honest sources for feedback. Even nitpicks can be helpful: anything can be improved, and that's a mindset a lot of newlitas inspired by anime and facebook don't usually have. After lurking for a few weeks, trolls are easy to spot. Not to mention that randos or crossposters are usually torn apart on these threads. After a month or so of anonymous questions and reading uncensored opinions on various lolita-related topics, I'd honestly say you'd be better equiped to handle the fashion than after a jaunt through a lolita advice tumblr blog from 7 years ago.

>After a month or so of anonymous questions and reading uncensored opinions on various lolita-related topics [...] you'd be better equipped to handle the fashion than after a jaunt through a lolita advice tumblr blog from 7 years ago
might be true for some people but not all of them. Same goes for nitpicking btw - I agree that standards are important and it can teach newbies a lot but there's a point when nitpicking becomes anal, unnecessary, and sometimes even unrealistic, and it can make people forget that these are clothes that you wear rather than some elaborate costume that has to match 100% at all times.
Again, I'm not saying that cgl is a shithole, it can be very helpful, but it should be taken with a grain of salt.

I don't think tax departments keep an eye on these kinds of reseller, takes too much work to keep track whether they're businesses or just someone who gets bored of their clothes really fast. Someone probably needs to compile a list and show that she's making thousands of dollars of profit each month (and evading taxes on it), and then the tax department will suddenly be very interested.

The only time I'd heard of someone getting busted it was for flipping secondhand luxury handbags. Even with five-digit price tags and profits, never holding down a job, poor working class parents, absolutely no visible means of income other than flipping bags, and bragging about luxury trips on instagram, it still took someone turning her in to get the tax department to realise she's been evading thousands in taxes and customs for years, and then they went after her.
